Hi,
There is medication that can reduce the spasm, smooth muscle relaxant, such as Egazil, or papaverin or Hyoscyamin. Make an appointment with your doctor so that you have the medicine at hand.

I'm not sure if its the same thing but it started a few days ago. I try to stretch out after waking up and couldn't because my tomach felt so tight. I curled up into a ball and let it pass. For the past few days it frequently hits me. My pelvis bone with get really sore and my stomch/abdomen tightens and hurts. Today I was laying down and rolled and fwlt something in my stomach roll then a wave of pain hit me a few minuets after every movement hurt. Brought tears to my eyes. I didn't puke or pass out I was terrifide though. And when I move or stand there's a lot of presure on my lower but. I habe no idea what's wrong. I've been looking on the internet for symptoms and stuff.

One night I woke up and all of a sudden my "anus area" was in so much pain and I didn't even take c**p, it was so extreme I got up to the bathroom to pee I felt like I was going to faint. I felt so dizzy so light headed and every time I blinked I saw white dots everywhere. It went away in a minute but I was so scared, I Tried to go to sleep and think that nothing happened but what if it is a serious thing... I'm only 16 years old and I'm terrified of it again...

This past year I have been experiencing similar situations. Mostly is when I have been sick a few days or if I have eaten something that has upset my stomach and feel like throwing up .. No alcohol ..I will feel like passing out getting sweaty and hot and if I don't stay flat on my back would pass out. But yesterdayI was sitting on my bed with my iPad feeling fine then suddenly felt like throwing up. I got up to go to the bathroom and started getting sweaty hot and everything was turnin yellow so I knew I was going to pass out. I made it to the bed and felt better after 15 minutes or so and was perfectly fine after that. It was scary and of course now I wonder if it will happen again and where?

Best thing that I ever did was take a fresh cold breath outside. When I know that I'm going to pass out. It keeps me pain free and made my body feel relieve. Thanks.

I had my first episode of this  last night and thankfully found this forum today.  I woke up 2 hours after falling asleep with a vague pain my lower abdomen.   I tried to walk it off, since many pains like a sleeping arm are shaken off in a minute or so.  But this actually got worse.  I didn't need to go to the bathroom but tried anyway, unsuccessfully.  Getting into the sitting position made it much worse, and when I got up I passed out and fell into the sink.  The impact woke me up and the pain was still there.  I stayed standing up and could feel a cold sweat starting.  Then about a minute later I saw a white flash and passed out again.  Scary stuff!  This time, I stayed down and within a minute the pain passed.    I'm very healthy, not overweight, and generally have an iron constitution.   Rethinking the day, the only thing unusual that I did was have an espresso late in the afternoon.   It was a double.  I drink coffee but only before 9 am or so.  I'm starting to wonder if the excessive acid/caffeine threw my stomach off and I had Dumping Syndrome?   Has anyone ever had an episode nd been able to trace it back to excessive coffee late in the day?

I've had this for 20 years, off and on.  The trigger always seems to be dehydration earlier in the day, followed by normal eating and hydration.  Like from running, or too much coffee or a sauna visit.  What I think is happening...we create a "pocket" stoppage in our colon (where your body draws fluids when it gets dehydrated).  This dry blockage then gets hit by normal movement in the course of events, creating pressure.  It happens a lot at night, hours after dinner, after you lay down for bed.  The pain is unbelievable, as others have written.

What I've found works fastest, get up at the verY first twinge, don't wait.  Take two Motrin immediately and a large glass of water, and walk, walk, walk until the cramping is completely gone.  Heavy breathing through your nose also helps.  The Motrin relaxes the spasMing muscles and the water is really what you need.  The very worst thing you can do is try to go the bathroom.  In fact "Kagel" exercises is probably the best thing.

If you're prone to these attacks like me, i don't think there's a cure, just try not to ever get dehydrated.

I found this discussion board while sitting in the emergency room because I THOUGHT I was going to have another episode. It's so scary, I'm afraid to eat. I've had 5 terrible episodes over the past 4-6 weeks. foods right before were 1. a fast food burger, about 1/2 cup of cooked spinach, a donut with choc frosting (the worst, even with a lactaid pill) a salad and 1 small sausage with about 1/2 cup of saurkraut (this one not so bad. Today was a small turkey sandwich with tomato. My point.....i don't know what I can eat anymore. this is what happens when it's the worst: Bad gas (ok with me because i'm childish and it's funny), but then the pain starts, mostly on the left abdominal area. This triggers overheating with dizziness. My head fills up with blood and I have to get a cold wet towel to try to cool down. Yeah I go to the toilet and "go" but the right before the diarrhea hits, the overheating is so bad that I get the sparkles in my vision and nearly pass out. I've laid shirtless with my face on a warehouse bathroom floor to cool down. (the donut actually maid my hands and feet turn red and burn). My heart rate was up to a steady 140bmp (i carry a blood pressure cuff with me for minor high blood pressure) and my breathing was short and shallow. I really feel as if I will die.....on the floor, shirtless with my behind uncovered. It sucks so bad. I can't really do high fiber, so I don't know the solution. Turns out today, I think it was mostly nerves and a little stomach issue, but when it gets to the point that I feel the need to sit in the emergency room (taking off from work) just IN CASE something happens.....something needs to change. I read about the dumping syndrome (gross), the colitis spastic and the interstitial cystitis. I'm going to research these. Hopefully I will find a diet that will help...and soon. I'm sure my boss has had enough of me getting sick....me too

This has happened to me on several occasions! I know you SYMPTOMS all to well! I had gas cramps so bad one day at work, that I passed out and had to be taken the ER! This usually happens after I've waited too long to eat between meals, eating food that I love ( okra and Broccoli) or eating too fast! I take Gas X before any of my meals to avoid have a flare up.

I experienced this 2 weeks ago. Woke up with severe stomach pain that felt like a pitchfork stabbing me in the gut! Pain worse than even my gall stones before getting my gall bladder removed. I took tums and mylanta, but it kept on. My husband was going to take me to the er, but I couldn't walk because I was doubled over with pain! We called 911 and emts came out. I was cold and clammy, so they did ekg and checked my blood sugar. All normal. It started to subside, so they didn't transport. Tonight started having similar, but not as severe pain. It occurred to me that both times I had eaten almonds coated with sesame seeds. Allergy?
