allergic to most antibiotics

Hi, I am allergic to most antibiotics, so when I get an infection it’s almost impossible to get a medicine for me. Even when I get a safe antibiotic, I always take it with fear of having allergy or side effects. Is there any other option for me, except antibiotics?

Your story is familiar with my family. We also live in Indiana have you found a DR to help you. Now that it's been a year ?
I have the same thing and they yell at me like I can control it. So frustrating.
Youc can use Allegra because it  contains the active ingredient fexofenadine.
Yep. They do NOT believe that it is something THEY are prescribing that is making you ill. BTW: I have read ... a couple of times ... that an over growth of candidis can cause a severe negative reaction to chemicals; I presume that to be chemicals ingested into the body in the form of "medications". But of course, you can't believe everything you read on the Internet. But then ... I sure haven't heard any other answers to allergic reactions to meds.
Oh thank you, I recently had an allergy to Vampires... thanks for saving me...stop reading Twilight and get a life.
This is my experience, also. It is very frustrating and scary. Thanks for your post. Now I don't feel like I'm the only one out here trying to figure out my next steps.
I had an anaphylactic shock a few months ago after taking an antibiotic and since then I seem to have developed allergies to other things also. I have a rash on my face and chest most days. Does anyone know what could be causing these reactions?
I too suffered from constant bladder infections but found a natural remedy called dmannose that comes in a pill or powder at the first sign of UTI I take a teaspoon or two in a glass of water 3 times a day and it is gone... you can take it as a preventative also. I feel for you but this works so well for me and believe me I tried everything!
I am 83 yrs. do not take any medication unless forced to with the exception of symbicort and ventolin. I have COPD which was diagnosed as severe, I was to take all these different meds and didn't take any of them instead I opted for fresh fruits and vegies. my doctor does not understand why my lungs are so good. two years ago I had both knees replaced and both lens in my eyes. The meds they used in the hospital caused major allergic reaction for days they were quite worried as I responded to nothing they tried and I was so far out of it so couldn't talk to them. since then I reject All med no matter what it is by having life threatening reactions 5 hours or less after taking it. they insisted I have flu shot as I wouldn't survive they said. I took the shot and was terribly sick for a full yr. Now I have lung infection from flu like cold and was given doxycycline. am now battling very severe reaction. Where do I go from here??? I don't know but not giving up. GOOD LUCK! to all.
Wow...I thought it was ONLY me having this issue. I ended up with Serum Sickness years ago after taking erythromycin(sp?) . It was the worst thing EVER! I was pratically crippled for 2 months. They said has to be the antibiotoc..never take it again. They said the good news is you probably will NEVER have this again its so rare. Few years later i was taking amoxicllin and bam...rash again so i pacicked and stopped taking it!! Everytime i tried something new I got a dang rash. I gave up for years and would NOT even try anymore. A few weeks ago i had real bad bronchitus and coule NOT shake it. Soooo I tried Levaquin in combo with a steroid. I finished the meds a few days ago and I HAVE A RASH AGAIN!! All over my face and back and chest!! Honestly..what do we do???? I cant take much more of this!d
I was in the hospital with bronchitis a few years ago and they gave me levaquin combined with steroids. The day I got out, my hands began to cramp and my fingers began to draw til I couldn't hold a fork or knife. My husband had to cut my food and help me eat. I have had severe leg, rib area, and hand cramps ever since, enough to send me to the ER, not being able to move my right leg at all for about 12 hours. It was totally stiffened and unbendable. Went home with crutches and pain meds and muscle relaxers. I have recently begun to cramp and draw in other areas as well. And I had a tendon tear almost away in my left heel. I don't believe that it is just a coincidence that the troubles began after I had the Levaquin by IV. I've read many times that Levaquin can damage tendons and when combined with steroids, the damage is worse. I can no longer tolerate any antibiotic. I sincerely hope that you don't have any more complications.. I haven't taken an antibiotic in years now. If I get any kind of infection that my body can't fight off itself, I use Colloidal Silver and it gets rid of it.
I almost died from anaphylactic shock. I am terrified, now also allergic to sulfur. I have chronic sinusitis, now Gastritis. I just suffer, too afraid.
I also have problems with almost all antibiotics. I just was in the hospital and er said they could not do anything so they admitted me and tried something new to me on the 7 and 8th day I felt like my skin was on fire and itchy as can be. If they tell you there is nothing to treat you with why are they Drs. they need to look into a new generation of antibiotics for all these infections.
There is hope on the horizon and it isn't another antibiotic.I'm concerned because I'm also allergic to almost all antibiotics.Don't let fear overcome you, please. (I know, I fight this myself.) Just because your doctor says there's nothing left doesn't mean they are aware of EVERYTHING that's possible. Don't let fear beat you into believing there's no hope. Hope is ALWAYS alive. There's something called Bacteriophages that have been used for ages in the former Soviet countries and some Asian countries (don't quote me on exact locations, I'm not the expert.)Phages, which come from nature, in and of themselves are not always useful. In fact. some phages are to be avoided. However, real medical research has found ways to harness phages to be helpful to humans. Some phages will go in like Ninjas and kill off the infection-causing agents, bacterial or viral I believe. Specific phages have specific prey. The researchers generally create a "cocktail" of specific phages for each person who has an infection. They tailor it to work in a specific way - not in a general way. It goes after ONLY the "bad guys" and doesn't kill off anything else. :0)Pretty cool, huh?I read an article about phages last year - it was an article about an American woman who had no more hope, she was going to die because she was out of antibiotics, and as a last ditch effort decided to try this. She contacted the most known research facility in Tbilisi, Georgia (Eastern Europe - not USA). They said she was so severely infected that she'd have to come to their facility to be treated - it was not something simple they could ship over here to the USA for use. She went. And the short answer is, it worked. Yes, that sounds expensive, but the good news is that the USA is starting to recognize this stuff. Not everyone has to fly to Georgia for treatment. So do NOT let darkness cloud your vision. Do not give up hope. Do not give in to fear. Fear wants you to lose. Have HOPE. This is only ONE thing - one thing that I as a regular person found through searching. What else is out there that we don't know about? There's more. I'm sure of it. We just have to keep our eyes and ears open and NEVER let the dark make us fearful. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use
The problem is mold. Most antibiotics are mold based. Check to see if you have a mold allergy.
