post chalazion surgery.... my doctor advised me to do cold compress..... now thats quite interesting....I have read here where some people mentioned warm compress. I have had my surgery 2 days ago in my right eye. I had 3 chalazions, one in the upper lid and two lower. Doctors said they removed, but I could see a my upper n lower eyelids swollen like hell. I do not know what to do at this point of time. Please let me know if you guys have any idea about post chalazion swelling.
Thank you,

I had mine removed on thursday, the injection I had to numb the pain was painful but I did not feel any pain during the procedure, they covered it with a patch afterwards and said to leave it on for 4 hours, after I removed the patch my eyelid was slightly swollen and bruised but I could see perfectly normally,it is now saturday and it's still a little swollen and I have a bruised eye

I am terrified of shots but for some reason when I did it the shot didn't really hurt the clamp does tho.

I had my surgery March 10th it was painful, but I got thru it, it took maby 3-1/2 weeks for the lum to go away and now exactly 2 months 2 days later my eye is black and blue were the lump was removed, is this normal and dose it go away?

I had a chalazion removed two years ago and a slight bump is there ugh i really hate it, to make things worse it makes my eye look bigger than the other normal one and when I smile there's a bag that forns. Its so freaken annoying idk what to do, i can only hope its not noticeable to others

I had surgery yesterday! Had the patch on for 3 hours as told and when I took it off I had the EXACT SAME LUMP staring back at me! My doc did not tell me warm compress or what to expect. I just figured it would be GONE. I wish I had done my research here first. Maybe using the warm compress when the incision was still fresh maybe wouldve drained it or reduced the lump. Its not swollen. Its a hard red lump. Im sad...

The actual surgery didn't hurt but the application of the anesthetic really did. He inserted a needle into the underside of my upper eyelid and it was excruciating.

My doctor numbed my eye (could have fooled me) and used a cutip to drain it. Hurt like hell and now the chalazion seems to be gone but appears to be scar tissue. She pushed so hard my head moved the headrest on the chair. Said if that does not work I would have surgery.  She seems to have a problem with being cheap with anesthesia.  I would gladly pay her extra.  She also wants to do my cataracts.  I think I will look for another doctor.  Heat when you start to feel like one is coming on seems to help me.

Hey, just thought I'd share my experience. I got a cyst on my upper left eyelid, literally in my eyelash duct. It continued to grow over four years around my eyelashes. At age 20, I was self-conscious about it, and it made my eyelashes grow in at weird angles. The doctor gave me a numbing shot and used a clamp to hold my eye open (didn't hurt, just felt weird staring at the ceiling with the doc's face looking over you), then he "scraped" (his word) the cyst/chalazion. He said he couldn't just "cut it away" because he might damage my eyelash ducts and they wouldn't grow back. Either way, it healed beautifully, but five years later now, its growing back in the same spot! Here's a pic: http://i.imgur.com/tqMuOJx.jpg?1 Just really sucks. I've had other cysts on my eyelids that inflame and go away in a few weeks but there little you-know-whats keep growing right on my eyelashes. I'm going to the doctor soon, here's hoping i can keep my eyelashes! If you have any advice, feel free to email me

Hi, I have one on my bottom right eyelid and top left eyelid. The one on the left I have had for about 4-5 years now and the one on the right I have had for about a year or two. The doctor keeps telling me that it will go away with time, but it hasn't. They both swell up and become sensitive here and there and I really would like it removed before my graduation photos because it's so noticeable and everyone always points it out. Should I look into surgery and will I feel anything as it happens?
