hello, I am a 32 years old female and I have been suffering from buzzing sensation in the head for over 3 months now. I also feel a flickering all over my body ( back, legs, arms) but mostly in the head. I have seen a nuerologist, MRI,MRA,MRV, results are normal. I was also reffered to an ENT because before all these symtoms started 4 months ago I had a nasal congestion and when I tried to blow the mucus out, I became very dizzy, felt like the wall was spinning for a few seconds. Since then I had foggy vision for 2 months. My vision eventually better after a few months but the buzzing sensation in my head has not gone away. feels like its gotten worst because now I also have flickering and pulsing sensation all over my body mostly in my head. I have seen almost all type of specialist but cant seem to find whats causing the problem. The back of my neck has been hurting also and I do hear a sound more like a sizzling sound, not sure if its coming from neck, throat or ear but these feeling are very disturbing. I feel like I had developed anxiety because its been going on for a while now and still cannot rule out whats causing it. Please help if you have an idea, thank you in advance!

I have had the same buzzing like electrical sound in my ears/head on and off for nine yrs. It drives me nuts at night.
My mom has experienced a buzzing sensation all through her body for years, on and off. Recently, we discovered that she has a soybean allergy, and after we removed soybeans from her diet, the buzzing went away. The buzzing returns whenever she gets soybeans, either through food, drink, or even if she breathes too much air that's been in contact with soybeans! The buzzing, for her, is accompanied by a whining tone in her ear, as well as shaky hands, restricted breathing, difficulty concentrating, and greater irritability, probably because of the bodily stress it causes. Also, it causes her skin to itch for a few days after a reaction. She even went blind for an hour one morning, and her theory now is that she got a lot of soy in the sausages she had for breakfast.
Anyway, even if you don't have the other symptoms, if you experience buzzing, it may be caused by an allergic reaction to something. My mom now keeps Claritin or another allergy medicine with her in case a reaction hits her at a bad time.
My father has been suffering with this high pitch buzzing in the head for months! I did a lot of research to help him because every time I talked with him he was battling with this high pitch buzz and would complain to me. It broke my heart, to say the least. I found that someone on this website (Guest) said that two Vitamins worked for him which are (Omega 3 fatty acid capsules and 1000 mg. of Vitamin C.) I wasn't too sure which omega 3 fatty acid capsules to get so I got 1000 mg as well. My father takes two each day and one pill of the vitamin C. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE WITH FOOD!!! It has been working for my father. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! He seems so much better now and happy! It has only been two days now and he said this buzzing has almost stopped and isn't as bad as it has been.. I found a website ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed and at the bottom of this page it has all the sounds that all of you could be hearing/experiencing. I strongly suggest all of you checking this site out if you are suffering with any buzzing in your head/ears. This buzzing you may have is called *Tinnitus.* READ what this site has to say, it could really help you out. It helped my dad and I tested him with all the buzzing it had at the bottom of the page and I got the matching high pitch buzzing that he has. I'm so happy I did the research and he is no longer in pain. I think it will help YOU out too. My dad called me "House" after the tv show. I hope this helps all of you out. :D

K everyone. If you ever read this, Listen. Skip the small talk get straight to the real deal. Pay attention to the buzz. really pay attention. What times do they happen and does an event take place right before the buzz. Ask yourself those questions. And now realize you just stepped into a whole different look on the possibilities of life. TIME IT!. trust me. Your results are going to trip you out!. Does it happen before a knock on the door? or when someone wakes up? or when the alarm is about to go off? or when your body is about to shut down? or when the power is about to go out? It's a SIGNAL! I believe you are all hearing signals being thrown around. How you are able to hear them, I have no idea!. Trauma to the head? or too much stress causing nerves to change and touch each other, cross wiring your brains nervous system to be able to pick up the signals. Do yourself a huge favor and pay attention. And if you actually have this ability! DO NOT let it go!. It could end up saving your life or others around you. Did you know almost everything in the brain is signal? like radio waves? and just as it can be a transmitter it can be a receiver if tampered with. Electricity in the air will set it off, peoples raging thoughts will set it off. People waking up will set it off. People thinking strong thoughts will set it off, or someone preparing themselves to knock on your door or hurt you will set it off. Or seconds before your alarm goes off will set it off and wake you up. Trust me. Pay attention. Good luck!. -Random Blogger.
I have had this problem for about 7 months now as well. It started as a audible buzzing that was just annoying but then it slowly got painful, and then really painful. Like my brain is hooked up to an electric socket or something and it lasts for hours. I recently was struggling with depression and that's all my psychiatrist thought it was at first but thanks to a psychology class i took i found out that i had bipolar disorder. i told him about how i have bouts of hypo-mania and he agreed on the diagnosis. I also had a blood test done that found that i was high in a liver enzyme called ALT. It turns out one of the causes of this is a choline deficiency, but that a choline deficiency can also cause neurological problems and that choline is also used to help treat bipolar. I have been taking choline bitartrate 250mg twice a day for about 4 days now and it has really helped a lot! Again i haven't been on it that long but i just had to try and help out anyone else who might be struggling with what i am cuz i know how horrible it is. Choline is completely safe it is found in foods as well but i'm in college so my diet isn't really all that great so i like the supplements. There $8 on amazon so not too bad.
Hi All
I am so pleased that I'm not the only one experiencing this 'thing'.
I remember about 2 weeks ago waking up and having a sensation on the back of my neck, it felt like someone had been sitting on the back of my head for sometime. After a few neck notations the sensation lessened, but I still felt a pressure had been there. Over the next few days the 'buzzing' started, and it has steadily become worse, ot continues day and night, but a lot worse at night as the sounds of the day arent present to lessen it, then again and this morning I have awoken with the heavy sensation at the back of my head. I have also started to forget things, just stupid things....like yesterday I went for a lovely long walk with my sister and when sending an email to a friend later I couldnt remember where I'd walked, but it came to me eventually %-) . I am not feeling some of the things you all are, but I feel I have lost my footing a couple of times, but again I have put this down to something else. I am no way a stressful person.
I am going to book an appointment today to see if my GP can explain anything %-), I will keep you posted.
Thanks for listening

It is great to hear that other people have these same symptoms. It seems that this thing, whatever it is called is just an irritation. For some it's extremely severe and for some it's manageable. I have been experiencing this for the past 2-3 months. The best word I would use to describe my sensation is fluttering. Mine started and was very infrequent and increased; now it happens throughout the day. I also feel an urge to itch the area that is fluttering. At first itching didn't help but now that I've been itching more and more, a rash is developing. The fluttering started right above my ear and then started in my right ear and then went also to my left ear. I have a twin brother who has felt the same exact things only less severe. I myself have very sensitive skin and I have some allergies during the spring. I don't hear noises, but the fluttering gets really intense sometimes to the point where 5 or 6 points around my head are fluttering/itching/buzzing. The doctors have not been able to help. I have a feeling that we all have sensitive skin and in general sensitive immune systems. Yes, I'm worried because this sensation is increasing and spreading to new places and I'm itching a lot more. I also don't think stress helps (I've been studying for finals with a lot of sleepless nights). I am interested to try Omega 3 fatty acid capsules and 1000 mg. of Vitamin C. I'm also going to stop using strong soaps, shampoos and face wash.
