I have just started to use Aloe vera juice because I heard that it’s excellent for diabetes. Today I notice that I have rash on my hands. I suppose that it happened because I started to take that juice. But maybe I’m wrong. I’m wondering can you be allergic to Aloe vera?

I, for one, can attest to the severity of Aloe use. It's inner leaves have a juice that is latex. Anyone with a latex allergy can become allergic to all products that contain Aloe. I am one of these persons who has had allergic reactions on my hands and legs from using products containing aloe. I also have allergic reactions or anything containing latex or latex rubber. I have to be extremely careful as each time I come into contact with either one, the allergic reaction becomes worse.

Not only bad advice, but careless advice. There ARE people who are allergic to aloe. My own doctor was skeptical until I walked into his office with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my scalp from the "new and improved" version of my hair conditioner. I've never had that kind of pain in my life, and had to be on very strong pain pills and antibiotics to prevent invection as a result of the burns. I'm lucky my hair grew back. I've been highly allergic to aloe my entire life, and I'm in my mid 60's now, so believe me, I'm old and wise enough I know what I am allergic to. Do your research, and you will find that there are others besides me who have a highly adverse reaction to aloe. It has the opposite affect on me as it does on most people.
Let me clarify that this was in response to the guest that wrote you can't be allergic to aloe and to fast and then try it again.

No such experience. You can't predict which thing causes allergy, because nowadays simple dust can cause asthma. Aloe vera may be allergetic.
Thank you so much - yes it has helped me!
oops - this was in response to "guest: I never had a problem with aloe vera before this year, but believe I have developed an allergy....".
What about the cortisone ointment would that work?
When you first cup aloe vera plant, you should leave it for 30 minutes until the yellow substance goes away. Then cut that part were the yellow substance is. This yellow stuff shouldn't touch your skin.
i have been taking aloe vera gel for almost a month because i heard its good for weight loss,bt recently i started having a rash on my face and hands and neck i dnt knw the solution, pls what is the solution?
Are you also allergic to latex gloves?
Just because your reactions are severe does not give you the right to minimize other peoples allergic reactions, nor does it give you the knowledge required to diagnose them.
Awesome, yes this is wisdom. YOU know your body best. Get tired of people trying to tell you "it's all in your head." makes me want to stick them with my Epi-pen. Lol.
My daughter proved to be allergic to aloe a long time ago. She has lived with it for over 15 years. When she was very small she developed what looked like wind-burn to the backs of her hands. Trying to be a good naturalistic mommy I took off a piece of the aloe plant I had growing in the house and put some of the gel on the back of her hand where it looked the worst. The next day it had progressed to open skin and was bleeding. I took her to the doctor to be seen and he said I had just performed an allergy test and confirmed her sensitivity to aloe. It IS rare and so hard to combat. Most people won't believe us when we say she is allergic to it. We have to read labels on almost everything including toilet paper, Kleenex tissue, treatments, band-aids, lotions of every kind, soaps, shampoos, etc. etc. etc. It's everywhere! Maybe one day there will be good treatments for persons with that allergy so they can blow their nose and put on makeup and keep moisturized skin without fear of another terrible rash.
Well said. It just tickles me that so many people believe that "natural" equates to "safe". Poison ivy, nightshade, and cocaine are natural, but nobody in their right mind would consider them safe for consumption.
I am very allergic to aloe and must read every product label. This **** is in everything from chapstick to disposable diapers. Very frustrating.
The next one who tries to tell me aloe allergies don't exist is getting a poison ivy laced apple.
Yes, it seems like aloe is in EVERYTHING! I developed an aloe allergy a couple years ago and I suspect it had a lot to do with this unfortunate fact. Apparently aloe contains a protein and so it is very easy to develop an allergy to it. I don't know about you, dear reader, but I'm tired of sitting on my butt doing nothing about it and wish there was a way we could make people aware of this very real problem so that one day someone will actually DO something about it.
