I have just started to use Aloe vera juice because I heard that it’s excellent for diabetes. Today I notice that I have rash on my hands. I suppose that it happened because I started to take that juice. But maybe I’m wrong. I’m wondering can you be allergic to Aloe vera?

I have got irritation whenever I use aloevea gel from my garden.Should I stop using it?
I experienced exactly the same thing, but i just let it happen, to spread the effect into my wholebody, as i analyzed the adverse effect of fresh aloe vera leaf, is due to our body is fueled with toxin. Although there was allergy effect but it was not itchy at all. So i gave myself a chance to observe the result in more weeks. I noticed, my skin that was affected started to fill off. It means it was not at all adverse effect instead, it was the way to heal the filamen of human skin, as a result of environmental pollution sorrounding us and toxic intake poisoning the human system. We have to sentive in giving time for nature to heal our system, God never created things to harm us. Harm is created by human iniquities, cruelties and greed.
I am very allergic to aloe I get what looks like burns where ever the aloe has touched me at and it's very painful
I agree. Its almost impossible to find shampoo or bodywash without it.
I am allergic to the Aloe Vera plant. So are three of my daughters and a granddaughter. Not additives, not preservatives. Just the pure stuff that comes out of the plant. How I discovered the allergy is a long story, but it was purely accidental, and I didn't even know that was what happened. God made jimson weed too. That happens to be a killer, and poison ivy and poison oak, and most other natural allergens. Hmmm, probably all other natural allergens.
Yes. Definitely. It gets worse over time.
The same thing happened to me, after spending a long day at a waterpark i noticed a had a painful sunburn, my mom just gave me a bottle of aloe vera and told me to slather the sunburn in it. Fast foward to the night i vomitted and in the morning had bright red itchy hives all over my body, this happened yesterday and i don't know how to treat it (it seems to only get worse)
yes same here i use aloe vera and more pimples on mah skin
same thing happened to my son. applied aloe vera gel to his bad sunburn and he started itching immediately. he got in the shower and washed it off.
I am the same way. I had always been allergic. I was the only one out of my 3 other siblings that had to use cloth diapers and couldn't wear disposables because they had aloe vera in them and I would break out in red rashes, blotches and hives. We didn't know this however, until I turned 14. I kept breaking out. I stopped using Aloe Vera based products and foods. When ingested it feels like an itchy heatwave inside my body. Almost like taking Niacin.
Thank you for the cortisone idea! You saved my life! I just applied a face mask with aloe vera juice and clay, and after few minutes it started to get heated up! I washed it off with cold water but obviously it didn't calm it down, then i noticed 2 mosquito bite look alike bumps, which reminded me of my tetracycline allergy! I googled fast what i fan do, and i found this! I applied fast a cortisone cream i had, and it seems it goes away ( i put ice on my face also for few seconds). Hopefully it will go away in few hours, because its very red! I have never had a problem with the aloe vera gel, but probably the juice had something in it that didn't react very well with my skin! I am one to always try home made masks and oils and such, and this is really my first allergy in 10 years!
what did you take to cure your allergy?
I've know I have a reaction to aloe for years. Back in 1978 my grandfather gave me a leaf to apply to a burn, after three days the burn seemed worse and there were little red bumps all around the burn. I stopped applying the aloe and it cleared up quickly. I've tried aloe in lotions with the same results. My son has the same results along with one sister and my mom. It's getting harder and harder to find products that doesn't have aloe in it including products labeled for sensitive skin. I think it happens more that experts think.
A year ago got an extreme itchy chemical burn on my face and my dermatologist didn't know what caused it, and still doesn't. It took 6 months for the red chemical burn to go away. I am assuming it is from aloe vera gel because it always made my skin tight and red.
