I have just started to use Aloe vera juice because I heard that it’s excellent for diabetes. Today I notice that I have rash on my hands. I suppose that it happened because I started to take that juice. But maybe I’m wrong. I’m wondering can you be allergic to Aloe vera?

I bought aloe Vera on holiday for my sunburn And at first my head swelled up and now my eyes and the bridge of my nose is swollen I have been using penicillin which has taken the swelling out of my head but not near my eyes and nose I'm not in any pain but it's very inflamed I go home today should I go to the ER and see if there is anything they can do
Thank you. Slathered aloe juice on face and neck - harvested it naturally from my own plant. Woke up with rash, small like pimples all over area that product was lathered. Going for the cortisone topical treatment.
Me too! I have severe problems with breath and my scin is exploding, when aloe vera is involved. I needed to go to hospital because of. I now avoid any product containing any aloe vera. It might be of good for many people. But the contrary to me.
Thank you! I have alaphylactic shock from even a small amount touching my skin. It is actually a more common allergy then most think!
I recently cut a piece of aloe Vera from my mothers plant and used it directly on my face yesterday. It burned and tightened my skin. Whoa!!! This morning my face is red and in shells and is tingling a bit. I believe I am allergic to it. I have released my face and am about to go purchase a cortisone cream to see if that helps. Hopefully it doesn't cost me a visit to my doctor.
Whelps...not shells
Geeez...rewashed...not released! Don't you just love SMART phones?
Thank you so much for sharing that. Good quick thinking about the cortisone cream! And dollar store solutions rock. I just went through a similar experience. Extreme sudden allergic reaction to topical application of aloe Vera gel that was 100% pure, organic food grade. To my total shock. Oddly, drinking aloe Vera juice did not produce any allergic reaction that I am aware of.
I agree. I eat very clean and was even finishing a 21-day detox when I used aloe on my face and big red bumps/welts appeared immediately. Your body doesn't need to be full of toxins to have a reaction to aloe.
I have been allergic to aloe Vera since I was in high school and suffered a burn... my aunt ran outside and cut her aloe plant and placed on my burn and my whole body broke out in hives. I have always had to be careful with lotions and soaps. Recently I fell in love with this new scent at bath and body works..... Focus. It is eucalyptus and tea. I have a really weird rash all over my arms, legs and abdomen. I thought maybe since I was bathing with the soap and lathering myself in the lotion that the aloe content was just too high, but now that you say you are also allergic to eucalyptus as well, maybe that's what is going on with me.
Yes, I have also had an allergic reaction to Aloe Vera Juice and Aloe Vera Oil. It just seemed to affect my scalp though. Not my face and also not internally. When I would apply the aloe it would result in a burning sensation all over my scalp and was unbearable, especially if I used Aloe Vera Oil where the extract is concentrated.     However, I found out that the Aloe Vera plant contains a natural yellow latex substance (called aloin) that it produces and I also have a latex allergy. So I wanted to know if a used a brand where the latex is completely filtered out would I have a bad reaction to it. I used the Lily of the Desert brand. I got the one that said "inner fillet" and not "whole leaf" because the aloin and gel are separate inside of the plant and taking the inner fillet minimizes the aloin that ends up in the final extract. Also that brand said it had less than 1 part per million of aloin.     So I started using their gel on my hair and scalp and I haven't had any more issues with a burning, stinging scalp. In my case it was an aloin allergy, but I know from looking it up that people can also have a bad reaction to the polysaccharides in the gel, which can't be helped by removing aloin. If you really like using AVG try the "inner fillet" kind and see if, like me, it's just the aloin or if you have to stop using the gel completely.     Hope this helps!
Hi, I almost died from an alerrgic reaction to aloe .
Take a cold shower
And also, Why in the world would you leave out the O in God ?????? That is nonsense writer. Cause everyone knows what it spells.
I've been allergic for years and felt the struggle of shopping for basically everything so I decided to start aloefreeproducts.com as the first and only resource for aloe allergy sufferers. I'm also vegan and only buy cruelty-free and vegan products so you can imagine how many labels I have to read until I find something I can buy!   ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use
