Hi im 17 years old im having the same kind of issues im a smoker and everytime i drink any liquid or solid i feel heart pain or chest pain, i really dont know what to do, any suggestion?
My heart hurt once too, a few mins ago. Also, I cant lay on my left side or else it hurts. Please tell me what is wrong. When I breathe quickly it also hurts. Those are the only symptoms. I am thirteen and a female.

I have been having this chest pain while eating or drinking for 3-4 now. Earlier, I thought it was because of regular smoking which I quit eventually. But its been couple of months now since i have quit smoking but the burning sensation while eating or drinking still persists. I just want to confirm that its not something severe.
hello i also have the same problem for 2 day's now fill's like some thing's stuck in my throat,when i swallow or breath heavy my chest hurt's i dont have a sore throat or any thing just a cough,i do how ever have copd,leaking heart valve's,i took a nexium thinking it was heart burn and a breathing treatment but did not help,once in a while i get a light cramp in my left shoulder,does any body no why this is happning
I have the same pain but mine feels like it a very sever case of chest pain but then I cannot swallow because the pain is so Intense. Mine last 5-10 minutes. I was admitted to the hosputal thought I was having a heart attack. Test were ran and the only thing they found wrong eras my cholesterol was high they oupome on medicine for that did good the while time I was in the medicine. Forgot to get my meds refilled this weekend and it happened again it was really bad when it wakes you up from sleep. I also have gerd and was on medicine for that also
I have started experiencing pain in mid chest when swallow food or even when drink. That pain does not depend on food consistention. It is sometimes very severe. I don’t have problems with indigestion. I’m34years old, female. Don’t use medications and am in good shape. What can be reason for this pain?
In reply to babowski on 2006-03-19 Yes I can can feel it going down my esophagus. The pain is severe in chest and back until it finally gets down. I had this problem when I was a teenager about 14. Never had it again until now. I am 63 yrs. old. I am a very anxious person I wondered if it is because I am tense sometimes it restrics the esophegus. Sometimes my meds get stuck and I wait until they have finally passed..........Linda.
I have the same problem that you have described. Just started today (Sunday - 10/20). Have you had the problem tested yet as you indicated?
you all should look into costochondritus or tietze, i believe this is what is happening to me. Not much relating it to swallowing pain but i think it can effect the nerves or cause them to become inflamed.
Hi, I really must know if you ever found out what you had when you posted this. My boyfriend is 18 and has the exact same problem and for the life of us we just cannot figure out what is wrong. Kaiser is horrible at helping, so please if you could email me I would be eternally grateful.
