Hi all,
Weight 188.4 pounds or 85.4 k height 5' 4"
Goal weight 118 to 123 pounds or 53.5 to 55.7 k That weight range puts me in the middle of a healthy BMI range. I have lost about 12 pounds and have about 70.4 pounds or 32kilos to go.
I just started the Cohen diet in Australia and it costs $750 plus you pay for blood tests and of course make your own food. I see it this way...I was looking at a coffee maker/espresso machine for over a grand (but thought twice and spent $600 for the machine and burr grinder) .....so I feel I can justify a diet program that will change my entire life and thinking about food!! I am so worth it!! I feel that the Cohen diet is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Life is about what you have decided to have in it. I have decided to put myself first and change my weight forever, change my negative outlook about myself, change my ability to meet a great man who is as healthy as I am.
Day 10- I thought 1-3 days were OK, but 4-5-6 were the hard ones for me. A bit spacy and light headed and tired. I feel pretty good now. Energy and positive thinking. I used to think about food all the time and was always hungry. I would eat three bowls of chicken curry at dinner and then top it off with half a tub of ice cream. Eating was my Hobby! "Maybe I will just make a cake or brownies". Don't forget the alcohol. I will just stock up in case company comes. Right.
Now I can honestly say my day does not revolve around food any more....I make my breaky and lunch in the morning and if I am going to be out at dinner I make it too and bring it. Easy. No going to the cafe at morning tea and buying a coffee and a candy bar. No getting a quiche on the way to work before I get there. I don't have to think about it. Food can be addictive and I was an addict. I am determined to do the whole diet...refeed and maintenance and see how it goes. IF in a year I feel like I want to make a change I might introduce a cheat day and see if that works. I read that lots of different starts do that. Eat very healthy all week and take a day off. But I might be happy with how Dr Cohen will advise me to eat.
So at day 10 I have lost about 5.5 K or 12 pounds. I notice how less puffy my face is, no heartburn, my sinuses have cleared up, and my skin is very creamy and soft....not dry like it used to be all the time. That must be because of no alcohol and sugar. All this in only 10 days!! I look forward to the continued change and know that it will take time. I did not become obese class 1 over night. No that took years of eating and drinking and being lazy.
Now that I am not thinking about food all the time I garden more. I read more. I started paining again. I exercise more. I read about health and fashion. I have more time and positive energy to do things. All this in only 10 days! I look forward to more weight coming off and feeling better and better...and so quick!
So if you decide to do this Cohen diet do it and enjoy it. Realize how food had trapped you into thinking you were less than you are. You can beat addiction. Pamper yourself as you go along your journey to a new you. I made up a salt scrub that is wonderful. Mix a cut of extra virgin coconut oil with table salt/about a cup too and mush it together. Rub all over your skin in a hot bat tub, use a wash cloth, loofah or loofah mit. Your skin will feel fabulous and be soft and creamy. Love the smell too!!
As a treat for doing good on the Cohen diet I will buy a Vogue or Instyle magazine. I might buy a long black coffee as a treat.
It is amazing how organized I am with my food. Nothing will deter me to reach my best, most healthy and beautiful me. I spent so much money on food, wine ice cream. I was having to wear size 18-20! Now I went and got some very cute things at an op shop that are size 14 as I will be in them in no time!
Cheers,
daisym
