Does weightlifting stunt your growth? No, every time.

Just look at me, I was born at 6.44pm on 11th Feb 2013. I'm 15 hours old now and as tall as three double decker buses stood end on end. I bench 1,000,000,000kg that's 2,200,000,000lb! I squat twice that, deadlift three times what I squat and can throw an apple into orbit.

Booya.

This barely stunt your growth. The reason why i say this, is because I started at 14 5.7 and trained pretty hard. At 15 i trained insanly hard and right before my 16th bday i threw up on the bench 275. Now 16 im 5.10 and still growing. Its up to you, be tall and lanky get no respect, or be wide like a house get mad respect and be in shape by training your ass off.

I've only become interested in this recently, but it is rather worrying me. I am 13, coming shortly to 14, I am 5'10" and I weigh 175lbs (76kg, 11st 7lbs) and I weight lift every night with 10kg weights - 20 bicep curls per arm, 20 vertical triceps lifts per arm, three times each night), I am not overweight, but recently I've noticed my growing has slowed down considerably, which is irritating as I do, like most, have peers who I am competitive with who are now infuriatingly close to, or have come to surpassing, my 'reign' of height. I am worried it may be my weights regime, but I don't want to stop it for no reason. Could I have some advice on how stopping would affect my growth, and whether I am likely to have another growth spurt soon and regain some height? My parents are 5'3" and 6'0" tall (although shrinking now) and my Mother's side of the family is consistently very short whereas my Dad's family there is a repetition of the men having heights of 6'2"-6'4" and the women being quite tall too. Are there any (inexpensive) supplements I could use to spur my growth? Thank you.

depending on the weight of course, if your doing more than 10 or so reps you should be fine, when u go under that rep count then what might happen is that your muscles become so strong that your growing bones dont have enough force because the muscles are so strong. also doing excercises that compress your spine (e.g. military press) are very bad at a growing age. if you keep away from them you wont stunt your growth and if you start at a younger age then you have a huge advantage over the others (so long as your form is good) :-D

Hey I am 14 years old, I'm 5'8" and I weight 100 pounds. I am pretty skinny but very athletic, I can do 60 pushups in a row and etc. I want to know if it is okay for me to work out my chest, biceps, and triceps using 8-12 pound weights while sitting or lying down. Because I don't wanna stunt my growth.
