Hi,
I got pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear when i was pregnant, and it did not go away after my delivery.
Now it is going to be two years, am suffering.
Recently i have started with a mild pain above and behind my right ear.
If anyone knows about this, please reply to me.
Thanks
Lavanya
Just read through this whole thread and noticed that none of the posts mentioned that pulsatile tinnitus is a common symptom of pseudotumor cerebri, also known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension. I would encourage any of you who are still seeking answers to research this condition to see if you may be affected, especially if you also experience headaches and visual disturbances such as blurred vision, double vision, or temporary losses of vision. Diagnosis is typically made by lumbar puncture (spinal tap) and an MRI. Often (but not always), the doctor can also see swelling of the optic nerves in the back of your eyes.

Wow! That worked instantly. I noticed a heartbeat-type squishy noise in my left ear last night, and it is still there this morning. Just did what you suggested and as I did it, got a sustained high pitched sound in both ears, and as I relaxed my jaw back, squishy noise gone! I have also noticed that my shoulders have been hunched up and not breathing properly because I've been stressing out about it, and hanging my arms by my side and letting my shoulders fully come down also seems to help. May only be temporary, but what a relief to have some control over it. Bless you!
I had the sensitiveness to noise as well. It is due to the start of hearing loss. I ended up with otosclerosis at 38.
i looked it up called titinitus, might have impact of wax in the ear, infection of ear, it will go away, or might get medicine to take infection away., least thats what it says
omg! i am so glad i found this forum. i've been hearing my heart beat since last year AFTER i got over a bad cold. i have been to three different doctors and they all say it's nothing but blood flow. whatever it is, it's annoying as heck! i read someone said they went to a chiro.....i think that's going to be my next step before i got see an ENT...considering the fact that most of you guys were not that lucky. hoping this goes away soon!
Hi. I am having this problem right now. I just want to let everyone know what I've found over the years...It does come and go. It seems to have something to do with blood pressure and sinuses. I yawned and it popped something in my ear and the noise started again. Previously it was gone for 2 whole years. I am 45 and have been dealing with this since I was 21.Back then I was scared and went from dr to dr and got no help. I've had a scope, ear tubes ( made it 1000x worse) i am taking an antibiotic now and a sinus medicine, hopefully that mayhelp, but I get used to the sound . I hate not having any silence but there's nothing really you can do until it goes away. I do have a sinus infection now and an ear infection and my glands are all swollen on that side, I don't know it that is the cause. I started using a loud box fan at night to drown out the sound. If I really need to hear someone, I press on my neck and the noise stops for a minute. It sucks! I'd rather be deaf in this ear than have constant loud noises whooshing.
I forgot to add- I had been having an unbelievable amount of stress the last month or so- maybe that didn't help, but I noticed I had been clenching my jaw for a while. I just remembered, years ago, if I had to yawn, I would suppress the yawn because that usually started the heartbeat noise. I had TMJ then on the same side before also- maybe it's all connected.
