This sounds just like me....its there when I stand up but goes away when I lay down. Its a large mass on my lower right abodomn. I have gone for a ultra sound and they say its a hernia but what I have been reading it seems a lot larger then a hernia. The did discover in the process that I have ployps on my kidneys and ovaries but it is normal. I am very worried on what this is...I think I might call the doctors on monday and maybe get another scan done

I experienced very painful constipation almost a year ago.  I believe this happened because instead of going poop I took a nap.  Ever since then i have been having trouble pooping at least the relieving poops.  During the year I started taking birth control which I think made the constipation really bad one time and I layed in bed for three days.  The last time I had a decent dump was when I drank a four loko and the next morning I pooped.  But for a while now when I press on my stomach I feel a very big hard mass and I can move it around.  When I move it around I do feel pressure on other organs.  I can feel pressure on my bladder sometimes.  I was actually just feeling around for it and could not find it, as I could feel it earlier today.  I get very excited when I think its gone but really frustrated when I can feel it again later.  My friends tell me to go to the doctor and I want to but I do not have health insurance and I am worried it could be something terrible. I know it is dumb and I should have went to the doctor a while ago.  Any suggestions?  I think my problem may be a digestive system related problem.

And when I went to the gynecologist she told me I had a big uterus and if I wasn't on my period she'd say I was pregnant.

I am not sure where you live - but you should be able to get free healthcare at your community hospital. For the constipation, drinking tons of water and eating lots of yogurt and green vegetables throughout each day might help with that!

Bleh. Well it looks like we're in similar boats.. Care to compare stories?

Sometimes when I am laying on my back. ALWAYS on my back.. I feel a movement in my abdomen on the right side. I am not pregnant.. This is frequent when I am at the tanning bed or during my period.. It just bulges out a bit and feels hard to the touch.. but when you have to search for it you can feel it kind of squishing.. I am a thin person. 5'2 100lbs..

Anyone else care to sharE? x__x

Note: I am NOT pregnant!! and I dont' have any other (haha JOKE!!) parasites

my mom still has a small "cucumber-shaped" hard mass on the right lower area on her belly. though it got infected a while back and was drained (tons of puss came out) it is still there. the doctor says he is baffled by it. (which, of course, is not something to tell someone like me!) it seems to get pink on the skin when my mom gets a UTI; so when i see symptoms of a urinary tract infection, I immediately get an antiobiotic for it from the doctor and that seems to help the redness on her stomach/groin area go away too. My mom is still wheelchair-bound from her stroke, but she expresses no pain from it when she is in bed or sitting up. When she initially had all the tests done on it (see previous posts of mine) the doctor said it was subcutaneous - below the skin and not in her abdomen or organs. I guess the important thing to take from all of this - is that you be your own advocate (or have someone help you/represent you) when you seek medical advice because doctors have countless patients/clients and you have one you! when it had gotten really red and swollen on my mom's stomach weeks after we were home from when it was drained, and the "surgeon" said to just get a blood test and call him next week - i call ER and got antiobiotics for my mom immediately. though that "surgeon" was the doctor on call (my mom's doc was on vacation) he sent her home. fortunately the antiobiotics EVENTUALLY worked weeks later and the redness went away. our doc said he would have admitted her and had her operated on this time (instead of having it drained again). i was grateful my mom didn't have to have it operated on (since it went away then) but it's unnerving not knowing what it is.

I actually went for a CT scan with contrast yesterday. I will know in a few days. They did a qucik scan and was going to send me on my way reporting nothing there, when the bubble under my skin (almost as big as a mango pit) grew and moved while I was there, so they saw it and did more scanning. I will let you know what they say.

Hi, I'm also going through a similar dilemma. 10 days ago I had a laprascopic surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy along with my left tube. The doc said he checked the right side and all looked well. A day or two after the surgery, I noticed I was having more pain on my lower right side (by the incision), more-so than the left. When I felt my right side I noticed a hard lump underneath the skin. At the time I just dismissed it, thinking it was some swelling related to the surgery. Now that the swelling has gone down a lot, the firm lump (about 2" long and oval in shape) is still there! But, when I lie down it disappears! I only feel it when I'm standing or sitting and it's not painful to touch although sometimes tender when I move a certain way. I'm going to doc's to get ultrasound tomorrow but scared to death! I just don't know what to think or expect and would just like to feel "normal" again.

I have this hard bruise like bump on the right lower side of my abdomen, just an inch and a half away from my bellybutton, it hurts when I touch it. I'm scared to know what it is, nonetheless I want to know ASAP so I would know what to do next, I could go to the  doctor but I don't have an insurance :(. Also, I have looked it up few times to know what it is and most that are coming up is "hernia" the causes and symptoms seem appropriate for what I'm feeling.

I too have the same mass in the RLQ (occasionally).  After reading all your posts - I understand that most of us are in the same shoes.  I too have had imaging tests (CT's / MRI / multiple ultrasounds) - CT/MRI came back normal - Ultrasound tech said on both occasions that I had a lot of gas.  I can actually massage the lump/mass and move it around - with small amounts of pressure and can actually feel the gas escape - and sometimes even hear it.  Try - and see if you may pass gas.  From my own conclusion after MUCH research, I believe it to be trapped gas in your cecum.  Google it.  In severe cases, it can even cause brain fog and episodes of being lightheaded.

GAS X (the orange "maximum" pill) helps.

Also, you may benefit from visceral manipulation.

Eliminate stress!
