The Equaline Brand Triple Antibiotic Ointment is not available in South Africa. Does anyone know of a generic that will also be effective?
wear clean underwear every day
Otherwise, it may be from bacterial infection or fungal infection. Some kind of ointment may help but i would try tea tree oil. It is anti -fungal; -bacterial, and smells nice.
GO BUY YOURSELF SOME JOCK ITCH MEDICATION--THERE IS LIQUID SPRAY OR POWDER-FORM TOO. I SUGGEST YOU WEAR BOXERS SO THAT YOUR GENTITALS GET MORE ROOM TO MOVE AROUND AND AVOID THE HEATING FACTOR OF YOUR SKIN DOWN THERE--IT CAN GET VERY WARM AND/OR VERY HOT--SWEATY WHICH INCREASES THE SKIN INFECTION. YOU CAN ALSO TRY ATHLETE'S FOOT SPRAY--BOTH SPRAYS HAVE THE SIMILAR AGENTS. YOU MIGHT ALSO WANT TO TRY MYCELEX 7 (YEAST INFECTION OINMENT) TO KILL OFF ANY POSSIBLE YEAST INFECTION RELATED TO THE HEAT GENERATED ON YOUR GENITALS. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT MARRIAGE AND PLEASE, ALWAYS COMMUNICATE ABOUT ANYTHING SO THAT BOTH CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE OTHER WANTS OR NEEDS (AND YES, ABOUT SEX TOO). IT WILL GET BETTER.
First, I suggest we all ensure we have at least communicated with our docs about it. I am one but am not a good patient. We also have several things going on that people alluded to: first, I bet some of us are a little "husky" from our strenuous jobs, the smell, if it is a sickly/fruity kind of fermenting yeast odor it may be a bacterial overgrowth of Kelbsiella that can be taken out with washing and standing for 5 min with white vinegar. The overall microbial colonization might also be out of kilter with or without Klebs overgrowth. Mine gets much worse when I am stressed out and or having to spend alot of time sitting. Also, there is already an odor "down there" that supposedly makes us "sexy" to the ladies (or men if you are a lady). It is similar to "BO" Which in blinded studies women picked the biggest studs just by smelling t shirts. It does get beyond unpleasant in our situation though. If you can see a dermatologist that might be a start. I also find Gold Bond extra strength in green bottle helps temporize things. Some of us "big and tall" guys can make a lovely habitat down below and ironically, using every soap and shampoo I can think of doesnt help. I actually found benefit wearing briefs helps a bit by keeping our dangly things away from our thighs. I'd normally say boxers but in this case perhaps not. While it is great that some of you got relief with the triple abx ointment please remember that we can make more resistant bugs over long periods. Bactine has some local topical anesthetics in it and can help when you are climbing the walls. Since I now outed myself aftEr yet another berating from my dear leader (wife) about my acting like a dog, I will look into this further with my colleagues and see what they say.
there's a new product called ToppCock (google it) which can prevent bad odor in the crotch area. its gel-based and easy to apply, not messy at all. it easily penetrates the skin and dries without a greasy after feel. no staining your underpants either. its active ingredients are silver nanoparticles, tea tree oil and aloe vera. silver is known for its antimicrobial properties which kills bacteria, fungi and virus, the main causes of bad odor. hope this helps.
I have been battling this same problem for years. I alternate between anti-fungal powders and sprays and hydro-cortisone ointment (for itch). A few days ago I tried neosporin anti-biotic ointment. The next day I had absolutely NO ODOUR! It's now day three and so far, so good. I think that finally I have found the solution!
I have had the same issues, I thought it was Jock itch/fungal and I bought all the anti jock itch and fungal cremes... Nothing worked so i went online and looked again for what my issue could be then i found what most of us have been describing. My issue seems to be ERYTHRASMAwhich seems to be bacterial and not fungal. I bought polysporin a common antibiotic ointment and noticed results in one day... The immediate relief was the itching decreased.

what this sounds like is intertrigo, its a rash that forms where skin folds and sweat stays moist for long periods of time (all day) its easy to treat and in expensive, my first suggestion is make sure to shower maybe twice a day and get thoroughly clean and then as dry as possible, then apply baby powder (also known as talkum powder) to the area, this will keep it dry which is the main thing you need.
