I have periods that sound the same as you...my GYN put me on the pill (yaz) and I am not taking the inactive pills, so I normally do not have a period. But about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago, I had a horrible UTI, and the antibioric has caused me to have a period (the first one in a several months). I started my period a week ago, and it has been extremely heavy ( I am going through an overnight sized pad every hour) and I pass several clots a day. I am 34 and have not havd any children, miscarriages, abortions, etc. Thanks to the heavy bleeding, I am dixxy, nautious, weak, extremely tired, and am running a slight fever. I missed a day of work this week because I just could not get out of bed no energy. I am still taking the pill, non-stop, and am extremely frustrated! When will this misery end?! I am a high school teacher and cannto miss any more work!

I have the same problems but it has gotten worse since I have kids. Clots are bigger and blood is like water.

My 14 yr. old daughter is going through this. She didn't have lupron, but did take progesterone for 3 months. The bleeding stopped. You can bleed to death, she almost did. She lost over half the blood in her body - had to get 7 bags of blood put in her. It's SO scarey. Towards the end of the 3 months of progesterone hell, she started a very heavy period. It was at that point her gynocologists lack of concern told me we need to try someone or something different. She had 2 months after that with no period. The dizziness and feeling like things are getting dark, complaining of sparkly things in her vision have started again, so I knew the trouble is coming again. She said she feels like she did before when she had the clots come out of her like bowel movements, except she thinks they're stuck. We are starting over visiting her pediatrician first (last time it was the ER with her hemmorhaging) and hoping to head off the bleeding. She's had tons of blood work at her previous hospital & gyn visits. She is not having sex (they can tell- so no miscarriage possibilities). She is getting very discouraged. Her blood count is back up to 14.5 & and shes not anemic but she stays so tired and dizzy it keeps her from doing things she loves and is affecting her ability to concentrate at school. SO if any of you find a doctor who knows what's going on with you PLEASE take the time to share. Thank you !

I'm used to small clots, barely enough to notice and I've rarely cramped from them, but this time Theyre large and nearly constant, its been a couple days since my cycle started. What worries is with how large they are and how often, I haven't felt any pain at all and it doesnt seem like it's slowing down. i've never been to a gyn before and never had sex or anything.

I am 13 and I was wondering if this is normal to have one of these blood clots on your first period? Plaza help!!!!

Yes, it is normal. It just means your flow is faster than your body can get rid of it. As long as they are not the size of a golfball, or larger, you should be fine. If they are that large, you shouldtell your doctor, as there may be something that is causing the flow to be obstructed, and thus have time to pool and clot.

take 2 tyleno and 2 advil. it always works for me, because i have bad cramps to the point where i throw up. but check with ur doctor if ur conserned, because neither me or anyone else on here is a doctor

Ladygran, I will suggest that you have the myomectomy surgery to remove the fibriods instead of all these injections. Speak to your doctor and do some research on this online

This is the fist time at 38 i had a clot fall out f me the size of my hand that looked like liver. I have NEVER had such a thing happen. I went to the ER they took a blood test just to see if i was pregnant which i knew would be negative and general test which overall turned out well. But tomorrow i will go to a gyno to see what this was, for me it is not normal. Today i felt colt fall out of me when i went to the bathroom and when i look i could see something in the toilet.

I am nearly 27 and since around 20 ish I have had extremely painful periods, mine never last longer than five days and I also experience thick and large blood clots. Not every month is extreme but the odds are that every second month it will be, I end up incapable of functioning on any level of normality and cry due to the immense pain. I have tried hot baths, heat pads, pain killers and even a 3 monthly birth control injection none but the birth control injections helped, I no longer am able to use the birth control as my husband and I are trying to conceive and also I didn't like the birth control as it was injecting me with male hormones. After doing some research I believe I may be suffering from endometriosis (which also causes infetility), also Ovarian cysts cause similar symptoms. I will be asking my doctor to further investigate, perhaps some of you ladies should do the same.

I was told aspirin is dangerous when you have your period, precisely because it thins your blood, it can cause uncontrollable hemorragiae, you could die from this.
