I have been having the same problem for three months.First thought it was my tonsils, then was afraid it was cancer from smoking.Until I discovered toxic black mold in my apartment.I have an appointment to see a doctor to determine if this could be the cause.Landlord wont get rid of the toxic mold.I may have to call the local health dept.I am experiencing headaches and weakness also.I am hypersensitive to mold.It may be other reasons for yalls sore throat,but I think fungus and yeast is mine.
Antibiotics will not help nasal drip! Your doctor didn't explain it to you?
Could very well be an absessed tooth under the nerve. Pain will spread, the absess may not be detectable because it could be so small. Has anyone tried a dentist?

My left side of throat is making eating solid food and excruciating. Pain when swallowing. And the nurse practitioner said she wasnt. Concerned. She isnt dealing with my pain.

Just read sbout your problem. I too suffer with sore throat on left side and soreness on that side of the tongue. Had the flu sbout 6 weeks ago, but sore throat has come back only on left side. Going to doctor today.
I have sore throat lrft side kerps returning but had my todils out when I was a kid so unless they have regrown it is not the cause. I fo have stomach acid as the first explanation given explained so both can definitely be the cause of ongoing sore throats. I think it can be either one.
Hey there. Like in the topic + left ear pain for 6 years with small brakes (especially during summer), mostly during inhaling and swallowing. I had my tonsils removed 3 days ago. Oh man, sh*t's hard. Will keep you updated guys.
I’m feeling similar things, the left side of my throat hurts mostly when I swallow. It started out onmy right tonsil, and I thought it was mono or strep because there were spots on it. The tests were negative for strep, and it was too early on to get mono (my boyfriend had mono over the summer, the wait time since then wasn’t long enough). Then after a week or so, it moved from my tonsil to the back of my nose, and it stayed like that for another week, now its only on the left side of my throat (no spots) and it’s been hurting for about a month. I thought maybe it was because I just moved to Baltimore, so there could be environmental factors to it. I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing similar effects, and what they think is causing them?

oh gosh whole community with same problem makes me feel soo much better already. I have throbbing pain on my left tonsil. i look in mirror i see nothing different to my tonsil but some red scratch on it. my left ear feels clogged up and i just had it syringed. ive got no other symptoms just severe pain that gets unbearable in evening. Funny thing tho it started saturday disappeared till monday and now it comes and goes throughout the day. In a world we live in the first fear is cancer. i have sleepless nights about it, when it gets dark outside my fear comes out maybe its this maybe i should go now to doctor to rule it out early enough. bt seeing all you guys with same issue calms me down... fear of unknown makes pain so much more unbearable. hugs to all of you

It hurt really bad when I swallowed two days ago. So I went to ENT yesterday and he put an endoscope down my nose to see my throat.
He stated acid from stomach was going into esophagus causing saliva to build up instead of go down my esophagus.
He prescribed acid reflux medication I have to take twice a day for two months. Afterwards he will check my throat again.

OMG me to exactly the same. As soon as I start to feel better, it starts up again.
Did you figure this out? I have had throat pain for 5 months...left side and into my ear. Not a smoker, have no tonsils or wisdom teeth. Have tried arythromycin which didn't work. CT scan clear, as was scope down throat. ENT has no answer. HELP!!
