If you are planning are starving yourself, eating 6 almonds for snacks, and drinking less than a baby gets in a bottle.  The 30 day cleanse is for anyone wanting that.  It's a lifestyle choice and one that requires strict regimine to be successful.   Get your nutrients from food and watch what you eat and excersice.  Starvation replaced with 2 oz of liquid or an 8 oz shake is not healthy.

Hi there! Your post is older now, and I am wondering...did you ever find out what you wanted to know? Did you try it? How did it work out! Today is Wednesday, August 7, 2013. I am about to try an IsAgenix program so I would LOVE to hear some recent feedback! Thanks!

When I first tried the Isagenix program, I admit that I didn't follow all the instructions. I did not take the Isaflush capsule daily, I just had the meal reaplacement shakes. After 5 days I became extremely constipated, actually impacted and it was a terrible experience. I finally was able to get past that and decided to try again following the directions. Since then I have lost 10 pounds but I still have a problem with contipation. I eat a lot of fruit and take the isaflush capsules but I have very hard stool. I am still lsoing weight slowly on a very modified program. I do wonder about fluid and electrolytes since I seen to urinate more that my fluid intake seems to warrant. For me I think this mostly works because of the appetite supressant effects of the shakes and supplements. I eat a lot less. II have been looking for negative stories about the product because of all of the herbal ingredients and the fact that it is not FDA approved.

many people have been hospitalised through taking the drug though you wont hear about that on the isagenix website. it is crucial that you speak to your general practitioner before starting this, im positive not one doctor/health professional would ever recommend the product. To be completely honest if this drug really was such a miracle countries like america and australia would not be experiencing obesity epidemics. the only way to a healthy lifestyle is commitment to regular exercise and a healthy diet.

I know you asked for negative, and there are a lot of personal stories in here that are scary mary for sure.....

I've been doing the 30 day cleanse, two weeks or so in so far. I am exercising  4 days a week for one hour each time and have a shake after the exercise. One shake with fruit blended in, in the morning for the fibre.

This hasn't been a jump in with both feet process. It was a month of going to exercise class twice a week, then I bought a Nutribullet to make healthy smoothies....then I added on one more class...then I hired a personal trainer for once a week - THEN I added in the Isagenix. baby steps, I would say.

Although I've only lost a couple of pounds, I am now definitely "leaning out', due to the exercising and shake combo. Bottom line, is I could have bought a canister of whey protein at the local natural food store.....there is nothing "special' about Isagenix.

to those claiming constipation using the products:

when you take in a lot of protein and don't drink lot's of water, you have poo problems. Drink lots and lots of water, whether you're using the Isagenix, or store bought protein powder. You could end up with kidney stones....just saying. Look up Dukan Diet....

People who have pre-existing problems - don't introduce a product like Isagenix, you'll only be asking for more health issues. If you're preggers.....EAT WHOLE FOODS !!! No one recommends herbal anything when you're pregnant, it's not worth risking the health of your baby.

There are no quick fixes in this life - moderation is always the key, eat right and exercise and love yourself.

how come in one of the posts below, it states no other website links are allowed, yet there are 3 listed here? I don't have any opposition to this personally, I'm just trying to understand the rules of this site. thanks!

Isagenix causes kidney stones. I have no history of kidney stones and after a month I was peeing rocks. Fluke? Maybe. I tried the product again a year later and after a month, again I was having pain and ultimately passed several large calcium kidney stones. The product is not safe.

Isagenix. I am very into nutrition and for over a year I only eat whole foods. I was very regular never had constipation. I started with a new trainer who suggested to take isagenix, I read about it, I found it was excelent and taste good, i thought should try it, my first week I lost few pounds, I was happy, but that week my frecuency was getting slower, after two weeks started having big issues, I had to see my doctor, I went for colonoscopy and was having irritability, my problem wasn't only constipation, it was a general issue, high fructose diet with not much fibre, I stopped the product and went back to my regular eating. Low glycemic diet, lots of vegetables, and fruits in the morning, my normal fats (olive oil) fish and eggs.. I feel much better since I am eating real food.

I have lymphocitic colitis, and I have tried isagenix.  It did absolutely nothing, it did not make it worse, it did not make it better.  Gained all the weight I lost after getting off it.  Really, if you plan to spend the rest of your life having one meal and supplementing 2, then go for it.  But weight is not your issue, you seem to be wanting to know if it helps IBS, the answer is NO.

Thanks for posting this thread... I've been toying with looking into a secondary income stream, and have friends who are just RAVING about Isagenix.  It's frustrating that all of the websites are being deleted off of this, because I'm very interested in reading what others are sharing.Guess what... I can't even post my email address for people to contact me personally!

Pretty frustrating... still... thanks for the reviews.  Not your fault the site makes it almost impossible to follow up on others' research... *sigh*

Hi guys,

I just thought I would drop few lines here.

Isagenix is simply another multilevel marketing product, and trust me there is nothing about health in it.

First of all what will a good nutritionist suggest to you ? Eat whole fresh organic non GMO products with lot of protein in it. Get rid of wheat and drink only good properly filtered water. Am I right ? I believe I am and that's why Isagenix and any other similar products can't work and won't work and can actually cause harm to you, only because it is not fresh organic non GMO product, it is simply a powder, and I really don't care what others will say, but it is still a powder and it's made out of something they call fruits and vegetables and don't know what else. Really ?????

If you look at the tables what it contains, it looks promising but for those who have no idea (and that is probably more than 85% of population), they would not even notice that the actual values for your daily intakes are 100 times less than what you should actually receive in your proper diet.

For those who say it works, I believe it does, and I know exactly why.

1. you don't eat wheat and solid stuff, only shake

2. your belief in the product actually is driving your system to do it (loose weight, etc)

3. you spent lot of money for it (and maybe you want to make money of it), so "it must work", and you will be convincing yourself and others that it does.

For those smarter ones, who wants to loose weight: stop eating c**p, processed food, junk food and wheat (bread, pizza, etc) start eating more fruits and vegetables and every single food you eat - BLEND IT! so you will actually drink your food, whatever it might be - even steak :) trust me and you will start loosing weight in matter of days. Be careful though you still need proper intake of your proteins and vitamins/minerals, otherwise you can harm yourself.

Before I even start, let me say that I am in no way shape or form a doctor. The blog post you are about to read is only based on my personal experience and from what I have been told from others. So here we go. I am a big believer in consumer reviews of a product. I like to hear what other people have said about a product, both the good and the bad. I feel that the better you educate yourself with something the better off you are. Back in about August of 2012 I was convinced by my ex boyfriend's sister, we will call her Beth for the sake of this, (I know this should have been my first warning sign) to try a product that she not only swears by, but also sells (warning sign number 2) called Isagenix. Isagenix is self described as the best meal replacement on the market. A direct quote from their website is, "Isagenix is positioned like no other company to provide long-term health and wealth solutions that address significant global issues like obesity, aging and financial stress. Our powerful products and systems paired with our unparalleled business opportunity have helped transform the health and wealth of hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Isagenix offers you solutions for weight loss, energy and performance, youthful aging and more opportunity to live the life you want. We believe you deserve more. More time, more health, more security, more success, more purpose. Welcome to the new you." Now the key word in all of this that I ignorantly failed to notice is, "wealth." This companies main goal after doing further research is to get you to become a distributor of the products. But that is besides the point, obviously the goal of any product is to sell it...DUH. At first glance everything about this product sounds great. I work at a hospital and decided to print off the nutrients/ingredients page and take it to one of nutritionist and one of our dietitians at the hospital. They both gave me a thumbs down saying that it had a bunch of, "BS c**p that isn't exclusive to the company and can be found in a lot of foods, mostly plants" AKA veggies people. They both went on to tell me there was no since in paying that kind of money when I could simply take a prenatal vitamin with fish oil for my omega 3's and eat a good solid plant based diet. In case you guys were wondering that should have been warning sign 3 and 4. I told Beth about this when I got off work and she was admit that these two individuals (who have multiple degrees in this specific field) were off their rocker and she wanted their email addresses. I might add that Beth has a degree in exercise and movement science...NOT in nutrition. That is besides the point. Beth finally convinced me to purchase this product. I was going to do a months worth of 2 shakes a day along with a "cleanse day" every week. This product is supposed to help you shed major pounds, I was working out at least 5 days a week. I did 30 minutes of either running or the elliptical everyday, I followed that up with Zumba twice a week and yoga the other 3 days. After Zumba and before yoga I always hit the weights, alternating arm and leg days. For my 3rd meal of the day that wasn't a shake I normal ate a salad with just a little bit of grilled chicken, salmon or tuna in it. Pretty healthy diet right? Let me tell you, I lost no weight and no inches. I was pissed and frustrated, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was doing wrong. I continued this routine until one day (about 3 weeks after I had started the shakes) I was walking my dog and I felt this stabbing pain in my lower right abdomen. I'm not talking side stitch pain, I am talking somebody literally has a knife in my gut and is trying to kill me pain. I immediately called and got a same day appointment with my primary doctor. She couldn't figure out anything that was wrong. She gave me a prescription for Tramadol and told me if I spiked a fever to go to the ER. I proceeded to go about my night in pain. By the next morning I was done with feeling like this, I know my body and this was not normal. I ended up going to the Urgent Care clinic and they promptly sent me to the ER. By the time I was in the ER I was in so much pain I couldn't stop crying, I was also vomiting profusely at this point. The hospital ended up admitting me and there I stayed for 10 days, not eating, still vomiting, and still in immense pain. It was ridiculous. The doctors could not find a single reason why this would be happening. One of them, we shall call him Dr. D-Bag even tried to take out part of my small intestine and my entire right bowel. Thank baseball my best friend was there to stop that from happening! I was in a Dilaudid induced daze and couldn't really advocate anything for myself. I was finally discharged and sent home with an army of pain meds. I continued to have pain and vomiting. Finally they gave me some ODT zofran (the kind that dissolves on your tongue) which helped a lot with the vomiting, but not completely. Fast forward five months through all the tests and procedures (colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT scans, X-Rays and labs, just to name a few) when finally some genius, not to toot my own horn, me, decided to question what I had been eating. See with throwing up everything I was still trying to choke down at least one of those Isagenix shakes a day, because I thought, hey at least I be getting everything my body needs right? WRONG. I finally had the brilliant idea to stop them, about 5 days later I noticed my pain was decreasing, so I decreased my pain meds...I was ok. My vomiting had also decreased. Over the next couple days my pain decreased a little more and so did my vomiting. I have now been off them for almost a week and I almost feel like a, "normal" person! I couldn't believe what I was feeling. I honestly thought I would never feel ok again! I went back to the gym and was talking to one of the girls I did Zumba with, who also might I add warned me not to use this products, but I never really got out of her why, until she finally told me that her sister took the product and ended up in the hospital with the same symptoms I had! Later that day I looked online and found numerous posts with people saying they had the same symptoms. I was in shock. I not only felt like an id**t for not looking up potential risks on this product earlier, but I couldn't believe how many negative reviews I was reading! Another point that both myself and these people with negative reviews were finding was, there are not places to put reviews of any kind on the Isagenix website. One of the reviewers I was reading said she had even posted her review on Facebook, went back five minutes later and the post was deleted. I am not saying they do not have the right to do these things, I just believe that it is wrong to not allow consumer reviews. If you believe a product is so great then why not? My guess is because the product is not as great as you claim. Now I am in no way saying that this product will cause everyone to have theses symptoms, I am just saying that myself and others have said that it will. Obviously there are side effect risks in everything that you take. I know this, we all know this. I should have known better and just listened to the nutritionist and dietitian and stuck with my prenatal vitamins, fish oils and awesome veggies. Lesson learned. I decided to be nice and send Beth a text message that simply said what problems I had been having, that I wasn't mad at her and it wasn't her fault and that maybe she just wanted to give a disclaimer to her clients that this was potentially a risk. She never said anything back. I should also add that this is not the first, "weight loss" product she has tried to get everybody she meets to buy and use. She was a big advocate of the HCG diet and promoted it to everybody and their mother. A few months later she retracted her statement saying how unhealthy and dangerous it was. I might also add that a friend of mine lost his gallbladder to this, "diet" (the HCG one). I should have seen all my warning signs, I should never have shelled out the hundreds of dollars for these products and I should have never listened to somebody who is trained in exercise about my dietary and nutrition needs. I will never be taking her advice, ever again. No I'm not bitter and no I am not mad at her, but sometimes you just have to stop listening to people that are spouting copious amounts of sh*t out of their mouths. That's just a good life rule in general. I honestly hope this post helps somebody stay away from the Isagenix products so that you can save your money and not end up in the hospital. If we want to lose weight, let's do it the smart way. That means eating a ton of veggies, some fruit and if you have to, some animals...I'm leaning more towards the entire plant based diet thing these days, but more on that later. Oh and EXERCISE!!!

You are NOT to use many of the Isagenix products while pregnant or breastfeeding. That is not the time to be trying to restrict calories or cleanse toxins from your cells. Isagenix makes this very clear to users if one reads the information provided. I have been on the products for 8 months and love them. Lost 30 lbs that I had put on with menopause, back in a size 6 from a 12. Lost the wweight in 2 months and have kept it off doing maintenence. Blood work improved drastically and was able to come off my blood pressure medication after 6 months. Everyone is different but it worked great for me.

Based on my research, IBS can be controlled by diet completely. Have you tried cutting out wheat, dairy, sugar? Google 'hypoallergenic diet' and follow that. It allows you to eat clean by cutting out all foods that are commonly found to cause sensitivities. This of course requires a lot of will power and is usually the last thing people try, because it's the hardest.
