LUNG PAIN AFTER PNEUMONIA

So interesting to read that many other people are having pain a long time after pneumonia, I was in hospital 6 months back and are still having pain in the left lung which was the side of the pneumonia, my X-rays seem clear so I am wondering how much longer this pain and breathlessness will continue.????

You poor dear! It has been a while since your post, but I just ran across it while looking for answers to my own minor bout of pneumonia. I do hope that you are seeing some results now, and that you have come out of your depression. My only suggestion, which I consider to be the only real and true answer, and the best hope we can have, is to come to know our dear sovereign creator, Jehovah. There is no greater comfort and peace, and nothing can better equip us pathetic humans for these difficult times than He. Simply reaching out to him in earnest can bring us the strength we need to fight any battles, and his love is like a warm blanket. First of all, that post is from 8 years ago. Secondly, clearly Jehovah wasn't helping or she wouldn't have been in that shape.

I was also diagnosed with pneumonia back on March 2017 I was hospitalized for 9 days my fever wouldn't go down and I got to the point where I couldn't stand or walk. Today and for the past few weeks I've been feeling pain on my right lung again. It feels like if I have a hole in my lung and lots of air. Does this happen to anyone?

Hi, my story is almost the same, I had pneumonia with pleural effusion 1 year ago almost exactly. Since then I've had 6 x rays and a ct scan clear every time but I still get breathless and have pain in the side of the pneumonia. Is really debilitating. Hope you make a recovery soon

U need to get some fluid pills u are retaining fluid still might want to get your heart checked out

I'm going thru the I just got over pnemonia in April had it for 1 month and 1/2. I get a lot of mucus buidr up inside lungs. .

I have a simular situation, in March 2016 I had phemonia, but I was in and out of hosiptal didn't stay not even 1 night, was coughing blood for about 2 months after! Anyway.. after the real bad pain I had this stabbing pain when I sneezed, coughed, or laughed too hard... And to this day the pain is exactly the same! I've had 3 ct scans now, a bronoscapy and still no idea what's wrong, (scans showing left lung dark and has 'tree in bud' something or other.. I have another ct scan on the 2nd of July and then a follow up appointment on the 11th of July, im worried that my lung is damaged and that's the end of that nothing can be done..

Same here too. Been in anti biotic for5 days now and it responds well. My breathlessness r better and cough get better.. but I have dz dull pain in right lungs and a heavy , stiff feeling on it..

Hi I had pneumonia in February was hospitalised ect after two weeks bloods appeared normal after six weeks X-ray normal still coughing with lung pain put back on antibiotics beginning April in May back on antibiotics in June doctor said may be hayfever or gastric acid reflux still no better went t a and e this week had X-ray and bloods doctor said all normal must be virus two days later wasn't happy went back to a and e as pain in chest worse this time doctor said radiography have reported on your X-ray from two days ago and it shows fluid on your lung and your liver function test is raised so if I had not been persistent would have just got worse and ended up back in hospital have co amoxiclav antibiotic again. Be persistent keep going back it's your body and if you know things aren't right then they are not. Good luck xx

I just had what's up my episode was pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and I'm having the cough the chest pain and the doctor said my lungs sound good and they gave me an Advair disc which has a steroid and I use a nebulizer twice a day my name is Yolanda from California I would love to keep in touch about this

I know this was written a long time ago but it is so similar to mine. Left Lingulair Pneumonia. I'm 7 wks out from the most severe part. However, I contracted a cold and it is hanging on for dear life. Now my hands (bilaterally) and my feet and legs hurt. The hands are the worst. And my anxiety is insanely high. Not getting any answers.

Is there a summary or list of items that people have found to help? I have very similar symptoms to many of the posts here. Lingering and persistent lung pain years after pneumonia. I have found Yoga and breathing exercises to help a little. Drinking alcohol or staying up late makes my pain worse. Interested in other potential ideas and solutions.
