I know it has been a long time since you wrote this, but it is what I needed to hear today. I have been sick for about 5 weeks, and even though the x-ray says I'm fine, my body says otherwise. The pain on breathing is so uncomfortable. Yesterday, I even thought "what if..." I love the life that I have, but sometimes the pain gets to be almost unbearable.

26 y/o - I'm going on three years post pneumonia, and I too still have complications. I still wheeze and cough a lot. I feel as if I've never actually recovered from it
It is very common to continue having breathlessness, tiredness, and cough for weeks after having a moderate to severe case of pneumonia. It takes time for inflamed lungs to heal and to clear out all the dead debris. Deep breathe to expand the lungs. This helps to get more oxygen into your body. I had pneumonia once and was in the hospital for 5 nights. I continued to struggle with breathlessness for a while. And if I coughed once, the breathlessness got worse and I had to go sit down. I just did minor task and did them a step at a time. Like take clothes to washer. Sit and rest. Put clothes in washer. Don't overdo it all at once. It's frustrating but it's part of the healing process.
Hi there, Sorry to hear about your bad case of pneumonia. That sounds really tough. I wanted to reach out and write to you to do some research into the ketosis diet - it has changed my life in many ways for the better, and I thought maybe it could for you as well. There is a lot of conflicting information out there when it comes to nutrition so be careful. Best of luck, hang in there!
Only seeing this now. Wondering if yiu managed to beat all this and get better. Really hoping so!
There's way more to life than hating your own body...
No answer but my daughter had pneumonia, took z-pack and a round of amoxicillin, 6 weeks later she still has severe back pain. She also has stomach but that is most likely due to the antibiotics. Her dr. Is baffled as well. Any ideas?
Dear Eyeglasses, I know that you posted this comment over a year ago. But I wanted to say thank you so very much. I was looking for some information about people's experiences with pneumonia when I found your comment. My mom had really bad pneumonia 4 months ago and now I get really worried when she starts coughing or not feeling well. Your words are magical and give me so much comfort. I am now determined to stay positive at any cost whatever happens. You gave me a strong positive inspiration. My day will be brighter because of you. Thank you for offering so generously your kindness and comfort to strangers. Another stranger.
Well happy to hear I don't have a heart condition as this is my third bout of pneumonia in the last 4 yrs although I've never experienced this chest pain/tightness before... I ve been told that the Chen trails left by the Jets could be causing this added problem as there is such a thing as Chem trail flu wonder if there is any truth to this....?
I'm in the same position pneumonia in February in and out hospital a couple of times. X-ray doesn't show anything so waiting for another CT Scan to confirm it's away. I also have pulmonary fibrosis but pain is very sharp on deep breaths or even a yawn lol.
