A big part of the trips usually involves going out at night after all of the work stuff during the day to drink excessively. Recently when I have stopped smoking for a few days, and then drink any amount of alcohol, I feel extremely nautious the following morning and will vomit anything that I intake into my body, including water. On this very last trip I had one single beer on a specific night and still experienced the same symptoms the following morning. Another very interesting symptom is a sharp pain in my upper right abdomen when I fly on plans after drinking alcohol. Research seems to indicate this could be related to my gall bladder so that is one thing I would definitely like to have looked at.
When I am at home and smoking regularly I can drink as much as I want, and although I do not always feel great in the morning, I am not vomiting like I am on these trips when I cannot smoke. The other thing to note is that I have had what I would consider soft stool for over a year now and I am not sure if this is related to the marijuana use or not. I have been checked out by a doctor once and had stool samples examined to find nothing. The only thing I can think is that the marijuana use slows my digestive system and so the food passes through without being fully digested.
My plan at this point is to stop smoking and drinking entirely for the next couple of weeks and then go in to see a new doctor. I will post what I find, if anything.
I smoked a lot of marijuana for about a year and a half and later stomach (upper abdominal) pains started.. I thought it was anxiety for a while, but when it got bad enough that I was throwing up everything I ate, I had to talk to my doctor..
After an upper endiscopy was performed, a HUGE ulcer was discovered in my stomach.. I didn't admit to how often I smoked, but I did admit I smoke on occasion.. They said to stop drinking and smoking, as well as changing my eating habits drastically..
I haven't smoked since I got out of the hospital, and I've been on a lot of Protonix to treat the ulcer..
Also, this new bacteria that researchers are discovering causes ulcers (H pylorum, I believe) came back negative on the biopsy of the ulcer..
That means the ulcer was not caused by the bacteria that commonly causes them, so I had to look to other possible reasons. I've always had anxiety and stress problems, and the old-school thought was that stress can lead to ulcers
I don't want to think that smoking marijuana caused the ulcer, but after reading several of these posts I'm becoming disheartened.. I know no one here is a doctor or whatever, but I think I might just admit to my doctor next time I see him that I smoked a lot and ask if he thinks that's what caused it
Happy Smoking %-)

In the last few weeks, the pain was so minimal that I actually took a few hits of real smoke. At first, no problem. But then, my chest and stomach area started to feel enflamed. The problem may be related to the smoke, but my stomach doesn't get better when I heavily hit the vape, since it keeps the areas enflamed. I need to give myself time to heal so that I can smoke the vape carefree again.
Therefore, my new strategy is vape-only smoking in moderation, allowing plenty of time for my stomach to heal at night. Crazy, right? But if you have searched and found this thread, it is because you don't want weed to ruin your health, but you also don't want to quit for good, right? Well, I am cutting out the wake-and-bake, getting healthy and consistent meals all day so that I won't smoke on an empty stomach. Although cutting out the wake-and-bake is a big step for me, I also plan to be more moderate the rest of the day, with a session after lunch and one after dinner. That will have to do. If I experience decreased pain effects, great. But after reading these posts, I know that I will ultimately have to phase out anything that may cause me ulcers. With this strategy, maybe I can minimize my risk and pain, while phasing weed out in a way that won't completely change my lifestyle. Maybe this strategy will help prevent me from having to 'quit' again, so that every now and then, with minimal risk, I can get high.
As far as smoking twice or even once a day i would serious cut back to at the most 1 time a week. Your smart by doing it when ur stomachs full but not by doing it everyday. Im not trying to be a mother figure im just trying to help u avoid wut im going through and how i feel. If your getting stomach pains when u vape or smoke just amagine having that pain continiously all day all night all the time without it getting better?! That how i am and now i have to waste all my money to get painkillers just to feel normal. Trust me u dont want to be like me. Yea just think about it tho its not a final commitment its just a break so ur stomach can heal and so you can enjoy it without hurting. And i had everything from endoscopes to xrays to catscans they say there nothing visible and that i might be nerve damage which makes them super sensitive. And about ur chest my whole esaphagus down to my stomach is enflamed and i kno this because of the endoscope that i had done so that might be why ur chest hurts except its not ur chest it ur esaphagus. But yea from one stoner to another a wish best for you in whatever decision u make and i hope that your stomach feels better and that someday u can smoke without hurting.
Take care...
Well after a few months my pains started subltly coming back again, I didn't want to quit so I kept smoking but I stared getting bad cramping again, bad hemmroids (Kind've embarrasing), constipation, fatige, bloatedness, and then I started getting small bouts of nausea, and then one night when I got the munchies my hunger got the best of me, and I ate almost ten chocolate candy eggs left over from easter, and I went right to bed.
The next morning I woke up with an unbelieveable amount of pain in my stomach, I had bad cramping, nausea, and I felt more fatiged than I feel after a 4 mile run. I got sick and threw up a river of chocolate in my bathroom sink, but it was a very unfamilar type of vomiting, after I threw up I felt even more weak, I got even more sick as the day went on, and the more I thew up the more it started tasting like blood. And my stools started looking black and tarry with a very pungent type of smell. I quit smoking and was in bed for 3 days not eating anything except yogurt and chicken broth, and I started getting better as the days went by, I started to feel a whole lot better 3 days after I quit smoking, the cramping all went away, I started feeling more energetic, and I started to eat solid foods again like burgars and fries. I thought I would try one toke on the pipe to see how much it would bother me.
About 30 min later all the pain all the cramping all the nausea all the fatigue came right back again, just like clockwork. It's taken me another 3 days to recover again from that 1 toke but now I'm feeling better again, I'm pretty sure I have an ulcer, I'm applying for health insurance now, it's kind've costly for me though, but I don't think I have any other option. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I've never heard of it, I'm going to quit smoking completely now, at least until I get a diagnosis from a professional Dr. or someone as to what this might be.
