Hey, I have had my IUD for almost two years now and have the same problems with pain and light bleeding. I also noticed that I have tiny blood clots come out sometimes after too. I delivered vaginally so I dont think tearing is the problem for me. I am trying to find more info on that also.
You know, I can feel the tips of the strings poking out of my cervix with my fingers. They most certainly are thicker than hair, they are cut too short, and they are sharp! If I had a penis (as I sometimes wish I did), then I would certainly not like to be poked by these wires. Considering someone's pain to be in their head, especially directly on so sensitive an are as the tip of their penis is downright insensitive. It makes me feel like your doctor was robbing your sympathy for your husbands discomfort. My partner and I have also been having trouble relaxing and enjoying sex because I'm either worried about cramping or itching, and he's leary of being jabbed!
My wife had it installed for over 5 years, sex was a careful affair, and I'm just a tad below average. However, I'm long enough to bump the ute. Not sure if it's the string or the tip of the iud, but whenever I would bump into that during rougher sex, she describes it as being kicked in the balls. Or at least how she imagines it to feel like. At which point, there is no longer any desire to continue on with the act.
Now for the past year, with it removed, and not replaced, I don't feel the string, she doesn't feel like being kicked in the balls. I'm driving deeper, harder, and more agressive, she's learning to really enjoy it, and just can't get enough. Sex is fantastic again, and at her peak sexual age, she's really loving it. The fact that she's enjoying it so much gives me motivation to keep on satisfying her. Doggy can get rough, but she's the one howling! Oh well, I'm practicing to use the condom regularly, especially before things gets out of control. Bareback is great, but a well made thin condom is much better than limiting the action due to IUD interferance. Maybe when they have customized the IUD to avoid this problem, we'll be back on board. It works well, with only the comfort issue to be addressed.
I like rough sex, she rediscoverred she likes rough sex again. Sorry IUD.
i have pain during as well. i went to a doctor and she told me it isnt corellated with the IUD, which i rediculous because sex was fine before the IUD. its in the uterus, so i shouldnt interfere with sex. maybe its slipping out of place
i have pain pretty much everytime i have intercourse and sometimes bleeding after jus depends on the position, my boyfriend is large but we never had a problem until i got the mirena IUD... seriously thinking of getting it removed
I have the same problem it feels like sharp painful cramps and i also have the mirena iud
I am in your boat. I have had my Mirena for just about the entire five years with no problem when out of the blue, several days ago during intercourse with my Fiance' my IUD felt as if it shifted. Immediate cold sweats, severe pain, I made an emergency call to my physician who told me to sit tight and see if the pain passed and if not I should head to the ER and see about tearing. I have just scheduled an ultrasound... I would like to know whats going on as well.
YEP. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THIS SUCKS. I CAN'T HAVE NORMAL GOOD SEX BECAUSE OF THIS DEVICE. IT'S CAUSING MORE TROUBLE BETWEEN ME AND MY WIFE. WOMEN IF YOU REALLY WANT TO CONTROL BIRTH THIS IS FOR YOU. YOUR SEX LIFE WILL GO DOWN. NO MAN WANTS TO LOOK FORWARD TO PAINFUL SEX.
but if your strings or cut to short and if the time in be to have the iud removed . they could have trouble pulling out.
I too have the Mirena and I've had it for a little over a year now. Recently, my right hip has been hurting and sex has been painful, almost like my boyfriend's penis is hitting an organ or something. I'm only having problems with my right side. I've asked my boyfriend if he can feel anything during intercourse and he said he felt something poking him. I'm making an appointment with my OBGYN and hopefully getting it out.
Your not alone ladies... its not in your brains. Its real.
I have the exact same problem with pain and bleeding after sex with my IUD... Thanks for all the other info on the iud and problems I too was not informed of this when I got it implanted over a year ago!! I'm thinking I might askfor mine to be removed as well... thanks again
