I would like to add that these days im upping the vegetables and trying to mimic my diet in indonesia. This means big portion of veggies/greens wich each meal (like to breakfast, lunch and dinner)! And unprosessed meat etc!! what more i have been doing the last coupple of weeks that seem to help even more is intermittent fasting! This means only eating all your food in 8hours per day, and fasting the rest. So i only eat from 12-13 to 8-9! check out Martin Berkhan as a great resource on this! seems this is actually how lots of diabetic patients are cured!
Try eating gogurt in the morning. its easy to get down. or yogurt

hi. i have had the same problem for years. I'm female, 20 and extremely healthy. I work out 4-5 times a week and eat extremely healthy foods. Veggies, fruits, oatmeal, and fish mostly. I went to a G.I doctor and had many tests done. It's just IBS. Eat a little extra fiber or take citrucel everyday and see how you feel. It's caused by stress and/ or sleep deprivation. many of the younger generations have it because of the stress of school/part time jobs/homework/stress from peers. IBS comes in 3 forms: mostly diarhhea or loose stool, mostly constipation, or a mixture of both. Please stop typing questions and go to your G.I. doctor. You may be worrying for nothing.
I've had similar issues - eventually, after seeing a student naturopath, I found out I had a wheat sensitivity. its not the same as celiac, where you are allergic to all gluten. so if i had the test, (I'm pretty sure) it wouldn't have shown up anyway because its not a true allergy. All the doctors I saw were useless - they said I had IBS and that I would just get used to it! (I think now days they don't like things they can't solve with a drug) I can't recommend seeing a naturopath enough - they look at your whole diet & lifestyle, which is exactly what our doctors should be doing! Student naturopaths are great as they are much cheaper. Food & environmental (like the mould someone mentioned) sensitivities are really really common. And personally I don't recommended self diagnosing, because you might end up (like i did), thinking that its something else (I guessed I had IBS & was gluten intolerant, which meant I spent a bit more $ on food than I needed too, and i wasn't thorough enough so it didn't get rid of all my symptoms anyway.)
my point is -
you can ABSOLUTELY SOLVE THESE SYMPTOMS through DIET & LIFESTYLE (its easier than you think), YOU DO NOT NEED DRUGS TO SORT IT OUT!
Good luck :-)

I have had this problem as well for over 30 yrs. It started at 10yrs old and lasted until 14yrs old then again at 25-30. I to was/am tall and thin. I was an athlete and ate healthy. Every X-ray, barium enema, ct was negative. I finally read about pancratitis and took 4 /200mg ibuprofin it went away!!! It sounds insane after all the medications, hospital visits for morphine etc... But inflammation is the problem. I would seriously recommend it. When your feeling as terrible as I did and you do, your willing to try anything to get the pain to go away.
I am sad to know so many doctors give up and diagnose people with the waste basket IBS! I believe acute pancreatitis, chrones, endometriosis(in women), and Sphyncter of Oddi problems are things that can be checked and should be ruled out before the IBS term comes to play. One more thing... Someone mentioned H-pylori as well and almost everyone has had it at one time or another, and I believe one you have had it you will always test positive (please correct me if I'm wrong on that).I bet anyone that has ever had a chronic stomach problem has been diagnosed as having IBS.
After years of hospital admissions and countless drugs and scans I finally tried ibuprofen and have never had to go into the hospital again. I believe I had the pancreatitis so I took care of the inflammation.
Try it and see, and force these doctors to test you for the things mentioned above.

I'm a female 5'7" 114lbs and I wake up every single morning feeling sick to my stomach. I thought I was pregnant but it's been going on for a couple months and I get my period every month so I can rule that out. It definately feels like a hangover. But I don't drink during the week or anything. I will wake up and I immediately feel like throwing up, and have a burning sensation in my chest. Also my lower back has been hurting like crazy. Its the most achey pain ever. I can't sleep. I'm not sure if maybe this ties in any way? But I was just wondering if anyone else has had any of these symptoms. It's the worst and I wish it on nobody. :'(
I'm thirteen years old, and about 95 lbs (underweight extremely) and about 5 ft 3. I've had this problem for about four to five months. I had to skip out one week of school because I was extremely sick. The problems getting worse, and I have no clue whats going to happen. I go to bed at 9 each night, & wake up at 6:30-ish. I dislike going to the doctors, simply because you never know what they'll do. I'm deathly afraid of needles, so Doctors + Me doesn't equal anything good. Before i go to the doctors, i want to try home remedies, if you would call them that.. But, none have worked. I need to go to the doctors & get this checked out, but, the price irks me. I hope this goes away.. But, please, help me out. Thanks ! :!:
Hey Guys,
Just going to share some of my thoughts, and hope that it may help somebody here. I am no doctor, I just have over time experienced these symptoms when I was young, and older. I also have a fast metabolism.
I feel a good many of you are experiencing some sort of anxiety. It will and does cause a lot of the problems listed here, especially trouble eating, sleeping, bowel problems, acid reflux feeling, and even vomiting. Thats what it is for me anyways, and its always worse in the mornings. A lot of people feel that anxiety means your scared of something, but its sometimes really random, and has nothing to do with fear. In fact as the symptoms worsen, you get anxiety from just thinking about the possibility of getting anxiety!
Many of you say when you wake naturally, like on a weekend, you are fine. To me this MAY suggest that something on those other days are causing you a bit of anxiety, or, did at some point, and now your mind is expecting those symptoms to occur. I also, like some of you couldnt plan things ahead of time, or I would get anxious of developing those symptoms, and sure enough, if you think its going to happen, it likely will. Your mind is the toughest thing to cure, but it can be done. I dont really know how to help you guys, and for many of you this may not be the issue. For me, I just started to challenge myself more, and stopped avoiding things based on these weird symptoms. I also started occasionally taking clonazapam for anxiety, and just having it with me helped as I knew it would help if I had a problem.
Alot of people here are talking about how they changed their diets to something healthier which is good, but what about exercise? You have too, I feel that many of you are so fed up with your symptoms that your not getting out there. I know its hard but you have too. Often when I felt I couldnt eat much in the morning, I would get away for a walk and bring some food along. As I relaxed into the morning I found I could start to eat. As well, try to eat foods that dont give you ups and downs. I think if you look up low glycemic foods that will help. Food definitely makes a big difference, but it takes a while before you feel it, and at first, going off a lot of the foods that you like can make you feel worse.
Anyways, alot of peope here have other problems, like eating disorders and such. Hopefully you seek help and dont get down about it, there is always somebody worse off who got better and is living a full life, and you will too.
My other advice for general well being, get off facebook, get off msn, screw TV and the junk it fills your head with. This c**p causes stress. Go outside, eat good food, drink fresh water, run around. Fish, hunt, hike, snowboard, climb, whatever. Alot of people need lifestyle changes that will make you feel a sense of worth.

My stomach symptoms started about 2 months ago now. I got sick with a intestinal bacterial infection and all I could do was drink water/gatorade and sleep for about 4 days straight. Then about 2 weeks later the symptoms came back but much milder and now every morning i feel like garbage.
I wake up to having to take a BM instantly and i've vomited/dry heaved 3 times throughout the 2 months.
Rolaids help alittle, Herb helps alot, if u know what I mean.
Changing my diet hasn't helped, idk whats wrong, I've always been very healthy. I missed 1.5 days thru 4 years of highschool. I'm 23 now.
I don't have the money to see a doctor sadly =(, but the doctors in the U.P. blow anyways.

I’m a 36 year old female, 5’3”, 145 lbs. Average height and weight. My symptoms are very similar to those described here, for the most part, and I’ve only been dealing with it for the last 2 months. If I’m woken up before I need to wake up, anywhere between 4 am and 6 am, then I’m done for. Even if I wake up on my own, things aren’t like they use to be. It’s like my digestive track went into overdrive through the night and I get these horrible pains in my lower abdomen, the same feeling you might get when you have to go the bathroom really bad (bowel movement). I’ll lay in bed in hopes that it will just go away, but it never does and only gets worse. I have no choice but to give in to my body’s demands and hit the bathroom. Before this I never had a BM until after my first cup of coffee. It’s not diarrhea, and not constipation…just a basic BM (maybe slightly on the soft side… TMI, I know). Then I feel nauseous until lunch time. I’ve never thrown up, but definitely feel like I could sometimes. I’ve tried going back to bed after waking up early and having a BM, but as soon as I lay down the pains just come back and I only feel somewhat better when I’m up and about. So I finally got frustrated, especially since I was losing so much sleep, and saw a doctor. After having blood tests and an ultrasound done, all tests came back negative. And of course after I saw the Doctor I started to feel better (so it seemed). But it in fact has not gone away totally. It just likes to occur randomly for no apparent reason. After reading all of these posts I’m more apt to think I’m experiencing this due to anxiety, or elevated stress levels. I started pursuing professional photography early this year (self taught), and am getting a decent number of clients. Doing this on top of my regular job that I work 28 hours a week at has created more stress in my life (trying to balance 2 jobs, family, and a social life). Of course the pressure involved with photographing weddings in itself doesn’t help. Another incident in my life that I believe is weighing on me mentally is my best friend abandoned me and is now much better friends with an acquaintance of mine. Definitely hurts, but I could help the situation if I talked with her about it to find out why. I feel like I’m venting here, but honestly I really think these morning episodes are simply the result of mental issues. Not sure why the episodes only occur in the morning though. Oh and the herbal remedy that some people are referring to in these posts is definitely not an option for me since my husband is a cop. I would rather deal with the stomach issues before resorting to illegal substances anyway.
Good luck to all of you experiencing this. Hope we can all find a reasonable remedy.

Has anyone been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome? My mom, son, and myself all suffer from morning "sickness" and although it's not as severe as throwing up, we all have pain and diarrhea. My mom and myself have been diagnosed with IBS and have changed our diets. My son has not been diagnosed (he's only 12) but is showing the exact same signs I showed in high school. I believe it's the food quality that high school kids eat through their twenties. Unfortunately, I can't make a home cooked "healthy" meal every night and I notice the nights we eat processed (prepackaged foods with preservatives) or order out junk food is when my son has a bad reaction the next day. Research food options and look into what is right for you. I've had to eliminate a lot of "fatty and processed" food out of my life and actually feel I'm a healthier person because of this condition.
I'm a 33yr old male. 6'3" and was 226lbs until i started having these problems, 208lbs now. I had severe panick attacks with my stomach problems as well mostly at night and in the morning but also whenever i had to leave my house. The Dr put me on paxil, tagment and some other medicine to reduce stomach acid. I took these for a month. I think stress and diet caused my problems. I stopped drinking energy drinks, soda's and alchohol. Greasy food caused me lots of problems. I changed my diet up for 2 weeks. I only ate plain oatmeal with fresh blueberries mixed in for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2 weeks. I finally feel normal again. Its been 4 days since i've had any stomach pain or anxiety problems. Reduce your sugar intake and drink plenty of water. Hope this helps someone.
