Natural Hair Solution

I have been wearing my hair natural for several months. I braid it at night and wrap in a scraf. It's never shining, my ends are cut but seems brittle, it curls upwards when it's braided and when I wash it I have shedding and hair loss. How do I prevent or help with dull look?
