i am a month out and i still am really nausated and i cant stand it im going back to the dr to try to get some relief i got the feeling in the back of my head something isnt right i threw up twice this morning and once last nite because of it how long does this last it seems like this is all worse than before the damn surgery i just would like some input here.
Not everybody feel the same easy to tell us to get over I'm 80 believe me the constant nausea is not that easy to get over even after 4 months.
Wow! I had my gallbladder out four days ago and my symptons are quite similar to yours. Along with nausea, I'm constantly exhausted and need regular naps along with my 10+ hours at night.
5 months for me with the nausea. hard burbs too that hurt and some burning in my throat. do you or did you have any of this? and most of all, I feel different inside, hard to explain, like between or near my stomach and lungs. Strange feeling. thank you for sharing.
I had my GB removed 8/23/2013 and still have a slight nausea feeling in the morning. I find that taking Altoids "curiously strong" ginger at nighttime and 1-2 Altoids Peppermints after meals helps a lot. Also when I awake I immediate drink a 1/2 glass of water and eat a slice of dry toast with a little butter on it. This helps reduce the overnight accumulation of acid. Additionally, my doctor says that after the GB is removed the tube connecting the liver begins to slowly enlarge allowing for more bile to accumulate and aid in digestion. This may explain how things improve over time.
Now that it has been awhile since your post. Do you feel any better? If so, how long did it take?
It is January of 2015 and starting in may or june of 2014 I started having severe nausea, vomiting after I ate and in the middle of night/early morning. I finally went to the doc on the air force base where my wife is stationed and got a referral for a general surgeon. While I was waiting to see the general surgeon the doc on base had me get a HIDA scan and my results were right at the cut-off, around 39 percent or something like that. While on the table having the scan, when they injected the stuff into me, I got the worst bout of nausea and stomach pain i've ever felt in my life that lasted about 5 minutes and slowly faded. The surgeon said that was a tell-tale sign that it needed to come out. After surgery, in the recovery room, I was in so much pain from the gas that they pumped into me that I was screaming. I'm also a recovering opiate addict and have been on subutex for almost 2 years and had to stop taking the subutex 3 days before surgery so that pain meds with work on me. My tolerance to opiate medications is so high that I was having to take 10-15 10mg Percocet at a time just to knock the pain down a little bit. I had the surgery in the middle of November 2014 and it's been almost 2 months since surgery. Starting about 3 days after my surgery I started getting what I can only describe as a sevre burning/pressure sensation in the upper part of my abdomen/ lower part of my chest, right in the middle. It comes and goes for anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. the pain is almost intolerable. I'm wondering if it's due to a build up of stomach acid? It doesn't feel like heartburn or acid reflux, I had those for years while I was abusing pain medications, once I stopped it went away. It usually helps if I eat something small, that usually makes it subside some or go away completely, i'm just scared that it's going to cause me to have really bad ulcers. I'm also starting to get really nausteated again; for the first month after surgery it wasn't bad at all, but now it's becoming worse every week, it seems. Anyone else have this problem? I'm starting to wonder if I should call my physician and have them run some more tests.
I had my gallbladder removed Jan 02 of 2015. I am nauseous most days, though some are worse than others. I have been told by friends that it could take as long as six months to feel normal again. I bought some ginger ale and that seems to work. Also mints.
Ihad my gallbladder removed in June 2014 due to severe gallstone attacks. Currently, 9 months post-op, I am suffering from chronic nausea. The gallstone attacks were seriously painful, the worst pain I've ever felt. But being nauseous all the time is no picnic either. Saltine crackers and ginger ale usually help, but overall I usually feel pretty yucky. I know it supposedly gets better over time, so I hope this is the case - to all the previous posters going through the same thing, I hope it gets benter over time as well.
