I know this is like really late, but I know others will see this post and really need to hear this. At the time of your post you were 16. I was an overweight teen weighing 200 lbs at the age of 16 due to depression. I come from a mixed weight family, my mother's side being obese and my father's side being skinny. Now, what I need to say is who says that only skinny people are beautiful????? I am currently a mother of 3, weighing 220 at 5 ft 7 inches. I am not exactly skinny, however my husband has had several people ask why someone as beautiful as me is with him, LOL. Sweetie, look at history, in the 16th and 17th centuries, being a big girl was extremely sexy and showed that you were healthy while skinny women were looked at as sickly and underfed. Us big ladies were desired and admired by society. That thought is coming back after centuries of the skinny people being the attractive ones! All girls and women are beautiful, period. We are the mothers, lovers, and caring individuals that everyone needs in their lives, so why beat yourself up over extra pounds? If you want to lose weight you need to remember, you didn't gain it overnight so you won't lose it overnight. This is not said to discourage but educate. I am a health care professional in bariatrics and I will tell you the same thing I tell patients, if you take it off slowly, you will keep it off and avoid nasty health problems in the future. Taking the weigh off too quickly is a sure fire way to gain it all back and then some. Here are some tips on losing weight healthily.

1. Exercise regularly. Your goal is to burn more calories than you consume so regular exercise is the way to go about this once you have learned how to lower calorie intake. Eat 500 fewer calories per day to lose a healthy 2 to 3 pounds per week.

2. When it comes to food avoid frying anything. Follow the BBBG, that is Bake, Boil, Broil, or Grill it.

3 Do not diet! I know this sounds odd but most weight loss can be acheived by simply changing eating habits. Load up on fresh veggies and fruits and turn away from sweets, sodas, and snack foods like chips. Lean cuts of meat, whole grains, and lowfat dairy should also be included.

4. Portion control is your friend. Instead of using a standard sized plate at meals, use a smaller saucer or plate. You will never know the difference. Avoid going for seconds and eat slowly. It takes time for your stomach to signal your brain that you are full so eating slowly will give it time to catch up.

5. Keep a food journal. You are responsible for your health and weight loss so take the step to hold yourself accountable for any mishaps and don't let them discourage you. This should just make you more determined to follow your weight loss plan that much more closely.

6. Reward yourself for weight loss with activities you enjoy. For example, when you have lost 5 lbs, go for a spa day with your friends or do an at home spa makeover with some friends. Paint nails, do facials, do hair, whatever you enjoy. Never use food as a reward!

Hello April, I know I'm not the best advice taker, but I'd say I could give pretty decent advice. I way about 130 and I'm 5'2, and I am 21 years old. I struggled w/ an eating disorder from the age of 13 through 20 and I am now recovering. I got pregnant and realized that I didn't want to f**k up my child's life with something as stupid as "fasting". I had my first son on January 11, 2010, His name is Grayson Vaughn. When I was pregnant I gained up to 30 pounds being about 112 pounds. I lost over 50 lbs, with my eating disorder. I weighted 83 pounds when I realized how horrible I looked, when I was still trying to be idle smaller. I am now up/down to 101 pounds, and my son weights 16 lbs, and is 2 months old, i just pray he doesnt have to suffer with not liking who he is or what he looks like. Honestly losing a lot of weight unhealthily isnt good, or worth it. Try eating less and staying active best advice I can give you. 3 %-)

I see nobody here has answered your question completely. & I know how you feel. So, you should try to Purge after you eat. It's unhealthy and I'm sure a lot of people will tell you otherwise and give you all this c**p about how bad it is for you. But I throw up after I eat meals, even the smallest snacks. It really does work. I'm 15 going on 16 in May and I'm 5'3 and weigh 121 pounds. When I first started throwing up after meals I weighed 130, and I'd say in about 2 or 3 days i lost 5 pounds. Every girl has their flaws and only they themselves can see what is wrong with them, even if a hundred people tell you your beautiful the way you are everyday. So, who has the right to judge you? NO ONE. I know exactly how you felt. But, now I feel great. I'm slimmer and my goal weight in 115 pounds. And Its not like I'm addicted to it, I can stop when I'd like. And that'll be when i get to my goal weight. Just make sure that when you are binging & purging you control your weight as well. Don't eat like 3 Big Macs everyday and depend on purging to lose it all in 20 mins. Eat very little and don't go crazy with the food. :-S

You want to lose weight fast. Hmm. Theres no healthy way to do it "fast". Im 5'5 108lbs. In June 2009 I was 170lbs and by Dec.2009 I was 92lbs. How you ask. No not crack! I did take a pill for ADHD and I did eat cotton-balls dip in ranch dressing. It sounds sick and Im sure your sitting there saying poor girl. No I loved it, it tasted fine. Sure it wasnt like a burger but hey im skinny. Isnt that what everybody wants to be? I hate to work out. Yet I do dance. Try to dance in heels. Start at a heel that you can walk in. Im in 8inch heels now. Just trun on some music and dance around while you clean house nothing works better. Yes I drink pepsi/coke , when I go out with the girls I might eat pizza or burger. But I dont eat ANYTHING the next 2 days after that. Just be happy.

Today many people fix their weight loss problems by using pills. However using natural substances such as natural herbs and herbal supplements to a great deal would help you to lose a considerable amount of weight with no side effects. Many natural weight loss supplements are quite effective as they curb your appetite and thereby calorie consumption. At present many brands of weight loss pills are available in the market some natural and others un-natural. However before you begin to use these natural products you need to follow a few guidelines. First check the label thoroughly and find out the ingredients because you might have allergic reactions to some of the ingredients. Also check for addictive substances which might cause bad side effects.

I know it's a little late to be giving a reply here, but I just thought I would since no-one here is answering your question "fully".

5'1 and 148lbs is pretty bad, most people won't say that openly but it's true and it's why you are here. However, don't get upset about it, just be objective it's the way things are but it's not a mystery why as it might sometimes feel.

I have never struggled with my weight. I have however gained considerable amounts and then decided, well I need to get rid of this!

It's not a secret, and don't believe gimmicks or pills (thought I'm sure some of them help to some degree).

Excluding the fact that you have some kind of medical condition (these conditions I know nothing about) that prevents you from loosing weight, I have heard of and do believe they exist, it's matter of calories burned and calories consumed. Sure the break down of sources from fats, carbohydrates and sugars does matter but you can't escape the fact that the bottom line matters most, on the scale and in your stomach.

So I'm going to offer three ways to loose weight that I am sure will work with results that you will be able to see.

Plan 1
This plan is very unhealthy and will provide quick weight loss but doing it for more than 2 weeks will probably cause problems in your body, I know it from experience only and I'm not a medical guy of any kind.

- Only drink water, and drink lots of it (4-6 litres per day, but not all at once to keep you saline levels up this will keep you hunger somewhat at bay. At first you'll gain weight and pee a lot, that's ok it's because your body has been storing water because of the drought you've likely been putting it through, after a week or so you'll loose all your water weight.
- Don't eat very much, eat small frequent meals of vegetables. Celery rather than patatoes or carrots. But I can't stress very little enough, a meal consisting of 20 baby carrots would be a maximum.

With this plan you'll loose lots of weight, more muscle than fat, your breasts will sag slightly but you can loose 10lbs a week on this, you'll feel week, dizzy and might get a bit depressed (because it takes your insulin a while to drop after the sugar (grain, refined sugar etc)

Another alternative but similar to this plan is an all juce diet, where you juice real vegetables for all your meals, I've never done this so I can't speak for it with certainty but I imagine it would be healthier than mine and have the same success.

Plan 2
This is one of the two healthy plans I will offer

Measure your food, (get a kitchen scale) there are many free calorie counters on the internet. Using this plan you won't loose more than 2lbs a week but it ads up (8lbs a month) is a lot. Eat no more than 1000 calories a day (many people will say this is too low, but of them how many are trim?)

Eat small meals, 5-6 of them a day. Eat at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 6pm. Try your best to keep the quantity of food in each of these meals equal.

Also you'll need to rebase your calories to a lower number after you loose weight, take 50 calories off your daily intake for every 10lbs you loose I assume you don't want to weigh much less than 110lbs at the end of all this. If you find your weight loss stops and you've taken off 50, take off 50 more.

Also instead of worrying of food content just stick by the natural as possible rule. Eat whole grain bread (not white) you'll find in the end that white bread will taste gross after 2 months of this. Never eat things like pizza pockets, cookies or anything like that. That kind of food has 10 times the calories of real food, and will leave you hungry. Canatlope is a great fruit, spinach is a great vegetable, avoid potatoes and carrots you'll get what you need from the cantalope. Eat meat but keep it to tuna, chicken, and the rare treat of lean ground beef. Drink milk, (skimmed) don't have cheese.

Plan 3
This is exactly the same as plan 2 except eat 1300 instead of 1000 and make sure to do 30 minutes of real exersize a day. Go for a brisk walk, use an exercise bike, go for a swim. It has to be 30 real minutes to deserve those extra calories. You won't loose lbs as fast (because of muscle gain) but you will loose fat as fast. With this plan use a mirror instead of a scale, you'll know what I mean after a month.

Eat more tuna and chicken in this plan as you'll need the protein.

To sum up
You said you would do anything, and anything is

- Count calories for your meals
- Get up and exercise, for real (it will be extremely hard at first, you'll get naucious, you may vomit when you hit the wall (that's when you know you've gone a bit too far which usually happens from running or heavy biking). If you find biking boring do weight lifting, it's great because the bigger your muscles are the more calories you burn just by sitting. Do heavy weights 10 reps, 8 reps, and 6 reps as heavy as you can do all of those one after another do not change the weight in between sets. When you can do 10/10/10 it's time to move up in weight. Move up 5lbs per arm (for arm exercises) and 10lbs per leg (for leg exercises). Use freeweights rather than machines.
- Do not sway, don't eat out, don't reward yourself for loosing 2lbs, don't eat package foods you cook in the microwave.

Good luck!

very stup!d idea! you will drown from that much water and no food.

What a d*mb@ss! You can't drown yourself by drinking a lot of water. Unless you're an id!ot (which you clearly are) and don't f*cking swallow your water.
Get off of here and go back to Club Penguin.

Puke up everything you eat , drink coffee as much as possible and teas . if your xtremely hungry binge , as in eat as much as possible , then puke it all up . Run alot . Do alot of sit ups , push ups and planks . you'll lose at least 15 pounds if you do that for 2 weeks . Thats what I did , and then I got an eating disorder but don't giva sh*t .

to everyone who wrote the responses above:
the ways you all lost weight may have peeled off the weight sure...but along the way to get there you did something extremely unhealthy.my sister did this to herself so i do know what im talking about. she ended up with an eating disorder and a horrible sense of self esteem, is that what you want. Im not trying to scare you but to help you. Especially if your a little "bigger"teenage girl i know what your going through and how the pressure to be thin is high. but please dont hurt yourselves.
so if you want to loose weight sure excersise watch what you eat...but do it the healthy way and the right way.
