I have had a fusion of the L4,L5, S1 about 7 years ago for Spondylolithesis but even before that, I had pain and a somewhat bulging from my back on the right side 1/4 the way up. If I stand staight, you can see it but like everyone else, no one understands it. It is tremendously painful at the touch and if someone approaches me from the back and touches it, it can bring me to my knees. I have went to Chiro's, PT, stabilization exercises, pain management, accupuncture, dry needling, etc. Nothing helps. I have tried rolling my skin on my back and can feel the tumor below and hae like "crushed" it in my hands and its very painful but relieving afterwards. My pain doesnt go down to my legs but shoots thru my entire upper body to the ends of my hair and ears. I am now trying Rolfing, a massage technique.
I am more convinced now that it seems to be a tumor thing that needs tob e removed and I bet too that it must go deep like some of the comments I have seen here. I can live my fusion but I can't live with this pain anymore, it sucks and will be finding out what it possibly is.
