My speculations on this topic are that when you are smoking weed daily, your appetite starts to rely on being stoned every day. I quit smoking 3 months ago and I now have an appetite as soon as I wake up and it stays consistent throughout the day. When I was a stoner I would not feel the desire to eat whatsoever until I had smoked for the first time that day. Some days I wouldn't smoke until bedtime and would find the only time I would be eating would be right before I fell asleep. Since I wouldn't be stoned all day, I wouldn't eat consistently throughout the day. Now that my body has gotten used to not needing the munchies to eat I'm hungry pretty much 24/7 I've only gained 15 lbs but it's noticeable enough. This happens every time I quit smoking for a couple of months.

I am a 26 year old male. I quit smoking about 4 months ago and I went from 130 to 160+ I also smoked everyday and did so for 6 years + and during that time I had stomach issues that would not allow me to eat until I was full so I would ear until I was satisfied. When I quit I had this newfound appetite and no stomach problems. I think that after smoking for so long and before bed the stomach becomes sensitive since so much smoke is constantly held in. I was also an avid bong user so I would hold the biggest rip for best results. Looking back I feel better now and more clear headed and i needed to put on weight. Not a lot of ppl understand that when I tell them I gained weight after quitting but I swear I gained a lot and right after and I was trying to put on weight before bit never could

Weed makes me loose weight as well no appetite and it dam sure ain't no crack in it it just works differently with everyone

This is my third month not smoking and I've gained around 15 pounds. I think because before I would smoke when I was stressed, board, depressed, happy and all the above now I eat. Omg!

Hey, I've read most comments and I am here to share my personal experience. I've always had a problem with my weight and I started dieting for two months where I lost 17 pounds, then I started smoking regularly and starting eating so much junk food, I was so scared that my progress would go to waste, I couldn't have been more wrong, I lost some weight and I looked healthier, I also had problems with my metabolism and pre diabetes. I never felt so healthy. I stopped smoking for a month and I gained around 5 kilos. Crazy, right? I'm starting to smoke again. Let's see if I manage to lose some weight :O

Im going through the same thing. Im 22 now and have been smoking pot everyday about 6 times a day since i was 18. Im now close to 2 months weed free. When i was smoking regularly my diet was terrible but i still maintained just 15 pounds over my healthy weight without having to worry; which honestly is kind of suprising because my diet consisted of pizza and candy/chocolate. I have been exercising 5 times a week and been eating pretty damn healthy since i quit in attempt to slim down a little. To my amazement i have lost little to no weight yet. And i push myself at the gym. But on the other hand, i do look better. My physique looks, better in a way. My skin glows. Im not giving up thought on shedding fat. When youre smoking pot so often you kind of lose track of your health. You may not crave essential proteins/vitamins and all that stuff when youre smoking. I think what you might experience, and what ive been experiencing, is your body playing "catch-up." I lost weight to and it has nothing to do with crack, that offends people. Open up your mind to learning things instead of talking too fast, you wi get much further in life with your mouth close . Now, Everyone is different and it depends on your metabolism."Health research" I was very active as a teen I played sports for 17years all around athlete so I always had a high metabolism which makes it easier for me to keep off weight. Even when you are sleep and not eating your metabolism is going. If your metabolism is slower and your smoke then you are up sh**s creek because your sitting on your ass eating, smoking and not exercising so that is where weight loss and gain comes into play.

Iv been a heavy skunk smoker for 10years.. Nothing other the cro!.. Blue cheese, pot of gold.. All the good stuff!,.. But in the first 3years of smoking I use to munch like crazy!.. After that my need for food decreased massively.. Use to roll a blunt and smoke instead of eating.. I lost my appreciation for foods be genral dinners.. It's hard to explain but everyone's body is different.. But smoking weed is something what became life.. It's been 7days since I quit due to emotional issues and being sick of being single..

Following my Post above what half of it got deleted.. Sick of being single.. I found myself replacing food for skunk.. Replacing company for games and tv.. Now it's been 7days of being clean.. Fruit taste better, I actually eat breakfast and dinner.. Witch was totally unheard off from me.. I'm 28yr old male.. One thing I would love to know.. Is anyone who's quit experiencing emotional breakdowns.. Shacks.. Nightmares? Will these stop soon? Or will they continue? Many regards and good luck!, dan

I'll tell you this I used to be the same way when I smoked weed it was everyday and I was not hungry until i smoked it I went a day without and couldn't eat soon finally I quit I've gained 46 pounds in under a year because I quit but I'll admit I feel a lot better health wise I'm just eating healthy and excersizing to lose the weight

are u mad! u obvs wasn't smoking a lot, look at people like wiz khalifa who is skinny as f**k smoke at least 3grams a day u will loose the weight for sure

Okay. I have been racking my brain to understand why in the last year I've gained 40 pounds? Been depressing to. I smoked pot for 18 years regularly. I contributed some of the weight I had gained in the last five years due to smoking pot and quitting that diet drug adipex and the fact I'm a woman age 41 who has serious hormonal issues. Okay so I went from 120 lbs. I'm 2010 to about 165 lbs give or take a few by 2014 . I quit pot all together Feb 2015. Feb 24th I go to doctor and they weigh me and holy c**p! 223 lbs. WTF! I thought after quitting pot a year ago I would've lost weight .? No way Jose. I have gained and gained a lot. I believe in my case I would smoke and sometimes get hungry and sometimes not. I did make better choices in food when I smoked. Just because you get the munchies doesn't mean you just want a pizza and chips. I believe I munched healthier. I tend to crave sugar fixes a lot more often. Never thought I could gain weight after stopping. Would never smoke again. I'm dealing with enough other c**p. I do believe everyone is different and it has to do with how whatever is in your body all reacts and how it reacts with you. No judgements against others. Like several have said everyone is different. Ironic my weight is once again what it was when I was 18 when I started smoking pot which means I actually smoked 22 years. Good luck to everyone.

Ive been smoking weed for eleven years 10 to 15 bob marley sized ganja spliff a day everyday i never run out without weed i never eat there is no appetite before i started d smoking i weighed 160 pounds now im 130 so weed definately makes u lose pounds fast too. If your going to quit go to ur pharmacy and buy a tonic and ask for somthing to open your appetite. All the fat people here do it to lose all that weight. Some people are different yes in terms of d weight in some people its d reverse effect. my suggestion? When you quit eat less junk eat more fruits and raw vegies and go to d gym and beat it up hard.

Now this is the comment I have been looking for! I've been smoking heavily for 5 years and when I mean heavily I mean over 6 spliffs a day. I did get munchies but since I smoked ALOT it left me very lazy to the point where I just didn't eat at all. I recently stopped just a little over a week ago and God was the withdrawals horrible. I lost my appetite but recently got it back. I am generally a skinny girl with a fast metabolism and I seriously need to gain weight because I'm underweight for my age and height (19. 5'1 and a half). I'm just hoping that I gain weight in my arms and legs since I look like a twig. Pray for me
