Well, I suffered with red, itchy scaling, swollen skin around my eyes on and off for about six months. I could not figure out what it was using every type of cream, gimmick, etc. I was also really ill with other symptoms and finally learning that I have lyme disease and bartonella bacteria. The red, itchy, swollen eyes are one of the symptoms of having bartonella infection. I am just saying this for all of you suffering with the red, swollen eyes in order to help. You just never know whats causing this.
Yes it is really sore and hurting help me please.
My sister and I both developed this problem in our 50's. She had extnsive allergy testing done and it was determined that she is allergic to a chemical found in a lot of creams, shampoos etc. It is Methychloro-2-methtyl-4-Isothiazolin-one Kathon CG. That is the chemical name. Google it. The name found on most ingrediant lists is Methylchloroisothiazolinone. I am also allergic. I had some make-up wipes I was using and would be very irritated the next morning! It was also in my Redken shampoo! Eliminate that chemical and see if that works!
here's what worked for me - a no-tears baby shampoo wash daily, followed by spraying colloidal silver on and in my eyes, en a very thin film of virgin raw coconut oil as a moisturizer. I had to do it every day for a week, and did extra times if it itched. The rash and flakey skin is now almost entirely gone, and I will keep it up for a week or two afterwards to be sure I kill off whatever caused this, and anytime I get the littlest itching.
Did you try dandruff shampoo? And did it work?
you have to go to a dermatologist i just to have it but the prescribe me a IC FLUOCINOLONE 0.01% cream really works, good luck to all
My doctor prescribed PMS-Erythromycin and it worked for me. The rash was gone at my third application.
I had this same rash develop around my eyes and tried EVERYTHING. The Dr. prescribed steroids, but I didn't want to continue for the duration of the rash, especially since it continued to re-occur. Somewhere in this trail of posts, someone mentioned a solution called Mario Badescu Anti-Redness Kit. I found it at Ulta, and the kit includes Cream Soap (to wash around the rash area), Calma Mask (which I don't use for the rash), Control Cream (this is the magical treatment that cured my rash!) Before this cream I could barely open my eyes, they were so red & swollen I couldn't even think of putting on make-up. After 2 days of using the soap and cream, the rash was gone. If it flares up, I apply the cream around my eyes at night and by morning...no rash! I highly recommend, if you're still at whits end trying to find a treatment, Mario Badescu is worth the try.
Hi there, the same thing has been happening to me every winter for about 3 years now. Did you ever get any answers? I've seen an eye doctor and a naturalist, they gave me steroids and suggested cortisone cream. It burns really bad. It's like my eyes tear and burn my skin. just looking for suggestions.
My eye issues began during the summer; we had just put a powder on the tomato plants to kill bugs. The rash appeared again this winter. Taking Benadryl at night seems to help with the redness as well as using Elidel. These are not cures but have helped.
Is that grape seed or grapefruit seed extract? I started reading about this and it seems grape seed extract help with eyes while grapefruit seed help with candida
what did you use when you were weaning off the cortisone ?
