Hello. Probably anyone has different causes, but I get better with preventing sweating(light clothing),with sunbathing and bathing sulphur.
so I have been having the same problem for about 10 years and finally decided to look it up. the doctors didn't see anything on my skin so they dismissed it and said there was nothing wrong. after several years I still have it. most people I talk to don't believe me so I finally decided to look it up and I found you guys with the same problem with no answers. Well tonight I decided to put aloe vera on my skin and it did help and I hope it helps in the future. It has to be a hundred percent right off the plans kind of thing I hope this helps you guys because I'm sick of dealing with it. Also Mederma is aloe vera for scars and Skin Care.
Showing at night rather than the day acting lessens the severity of my itching.
Meant to say that showering at night rather than the morning helps with my itching. I take an allergy pill shortly before showering too. Also, putting on clothing -especially sweat pants or leggings, right after a shower for 20 min helps the itching from becoming unbearable. Sounds like a lot of effort but it beats scratching my skin off. My itching starts up at the end of summer through the fall. Been going on for at least 15 years.
I've done the sweat pant thing too and found it helpful. For me it's about no sudden change in temps and drying off pronto after the shower. The second getting out of shower drying off and putting on warm clothing like sweatpants and a heavy bathrobe. It helps a little if the room is kinda warm too. No cold bathrooms due to air conditioning. I find Sarna anti itch cream a tiny bit helpful
I have been experiencing this for about 15 years. It used to be only after showering. Now I itch all day, every day. I scratch so much that I have bruises on my arms and legs. I was thinking that maybe it is a new medication that I've been taking for migraines, but the neurologist didn't seem to think so. I take 2 Zyrtec every morning and it doesn't help. I use Cerave cream as soon as I get out of the shower, that doesn't help much either. It itches so bad, I feel like my skin is on fire. I've now started scratching myself in my sleep. I sure wish I knew what was causing this because I am about our of my mind with it!
Very interesting! I'm also suffering from severe itching skin ALL OVER my legs and arms after a shower. It's insufferable for about 30 minutes. I've switched to the mildest soap and take ice cold showers. Nothing helps!
I do believe I have irish and Swiss ancestry. I'm very pale. I noticed a few people commenting that tanning helps. I wonder if this is a condition that is more likely to affect people with less melanin in their skin? I'd be interested to know if most of the people in here are of a fair complexion. I'm willing to cut wheat but I've never had an allergy like that before. Very strange.

Hi,
I’ve been getting this same kind of itch on and off for 25+ years since I was a kid. I’d get suhh an intense prickly itch after showering and NO amount of scratching would abate it. I’d even scratch my arms and legs with a hairbrush just to get those few seconds of relief!
I’ve noticed that it only affects my arms and legs, and is worse in humid weather especially if there is aircon on, or when going from a hot shower to a cooler or cold room.
The most frustrating thing is that it’s unpredictable and doesn’t happen every time one of these hot/humid to cold triggers occurs. The funny thing is that I can tell when I’m showering when it’s going to happen. It’s so weird and has been making me feel crazy for years! It’s such a deeply intense, prickly itch that makes me so frustrated- angry even because it is so strong that it commands my attention. It’s impossible to ignore.
I have found nothing to stop it, and my best treatment is breathing and trying to keep still until the wave of itching subsides- usually anywhere between 20 mins to 1 hour.
Anyone else found any relief?

try not to rub yourself with the towel while drying off. Pat yourself dry with the towel.
would one who surfer this require the two cures or one
I used to have the exact same issue! Omg how frustrating and annoying. I have since moved into a different city and very rarely have these itching attacks after showers now. Such a relief! So maybe it had something in the water where i used to live? Was ususally worse if it was hot outside, or i exercised before the shower.
