Did you find out what was wrong? I am experiencing the EXACT same thing as you- excruciating pains several years after novasure ablation
Reply

My issue turns out to be adenamyosis adenamyosis which is where the lining of the uterus has started to goninto the muscles attached to the uterus. And tgats what is causing the pain. Apparently the last obgyn i saw could have told me that from my text results but chose not to. So i am having a hysterectomy on oct 3rd. Yay. I cant wait.

Hi Everyone:

I'm actually researching this for an article I'm writing for work. This is interesting, because this is what happened to me about a year after my ablation. At the time my doctor mentioned that although uncommon, it is possible to have this reaction, particularly if you were prone to painful cramps during your period. She said it's something to do with the amount of prostaglandins you may have. Anyway, the pain was excruciating every single month (and I've done natural childbirth!!) so I opted for a hysterectomy at age 38. I have to say it is truly the best decision I've ever made, and I have never had a single bit of pain again, nor have I ever thought about the pain and inconvenience of having a period. My ovaries remain intact, so I will go through menopause naturally. And, I found that the hysterectomy was a smooth recovery and very straightforward. Good luck to all of you suffering, and I have to tell you with 100% assurance that you will never regret having the hysterectomy, relieving yourself of pain and getting on with regular life.

Hysterectomy yes yes yes... I just had mine last Monday via Davinci robot. Super quick recovery. Only about a week of discomfort, which was by no means the amount of pain i was having beforehand. Ended up that my right ovary had adhered to my uterus wall. I too have my ovaries still in there but thats it.. But PMS still got me good this week as i was due to start a few days ago. Can you say "Raging b***h!!" However that has now passed and on we move. Do not be afraid to have a hysterectomy. Seriously easy op....

I'm really concerned after finding this post. I had Nova Sure 5 weeks ago and first 3 weeks, no cramping, no bleeding. Out of the blue, pain in my lower back, pressure from inside like a baby was pushing on my bladder and pelvis. Dr is sending me for a CT, which is scheduled for today. Yesterday I started feeling almost like I was getting the flu maybe and light bleeding. This morning my bleeding is dark and thick. I started this journey due to heavy bleeding lasting 4 months, extremely high estrogen and constant cramping pain. This is SO much worse! I'm thinking I was better off with the pre Nova Sure symptoms! My biggest concern is that if this many woman have these issues, why do they act bewildered with these symptoms? For this to happen so soon after my procedure, what could my future look like?

I'm 44, and had the ablation done two years ago. Last month I started getting the painful cramps with light bleeding. I had an ultrasound, and it came back normal. Will be getting a pap in December. I have a few dilemmas. The only pain med that works for cramps is ibuprofen, but I can't take too much because I have Crohn's disease. I take 5mg percocet for crohn's chronic pain, but that does nothing for cramps. My OB/GYN wants me to try progesterone next, but I don't want to start a new med. Plus, from what I've read, it wouldn't be a good option for me because I have a history of anxiety and depression, back and joint pain and chronic fatigue. Not too mention, I've worked hard to lose weight and don't want to gain it all back. So, I'm wondering if hysterectomy is my only option. I'm worried about the recovery time. I wouldn't be able to do my physical therapy for chronic pain and I would probably gain some weight back. Did anyone else try this progesterone? Any advice?

I just had a robotic hysterectomy and can't reccomend it highly enough... The recovery was super easy. I am also 44 and have 8 year old twins. I am also not that physically fit.. So if recovery was easy for me it should be for you... I was up and about same day.. Slept quite a lot for the first week. And pain was really minimal. 2nd week I felt pretty normal. The only time i ever noticed was went i bent over or stretched funny. I whole heartedly recommend this.

Hello,
I had an ablation done 3 years ago. I am now having horiffic cramping with no period. At this point do not know what to do. Has anyone found a solution?

Hysterectomy was my only solution. I had everything but my ovaries removed via robotic surgery and it was and is awesome. Recovery was super easy and I recommend it to all who have had no luck with other options.. I was up an about same week.

OMG, I am dealing with the same thing. I have an EXTREMELY high tolerance for pain. But I feel like I am in labor! I am so glad I looked this up on the internet and found this page! I am going to tell the doctor I want a partial hysterectomy. That's it. I am not going to wait around for test after test. I have also been experiencing a horrible bacterial infection that I cannot seem to get rid of. It has gone on for over a year now! I wonder if this has something to do with it? If fluid is building up in there like some of you stated happened to you, that would cause infection, right? Have any of you experienced infection like that?

Glad everything worked out for you. I am considering a partial hysterectomy but what about menopause who are you handling that?? I guess nothing can be worse then the pain we're experiencing. Its awful, brings me to my knees in years. Wish men had to go through this and not us.
Good luck to you.

I still have my ovaries which release their eggs every month but no tubes or uterus or cervix. That way your body doesnt go into Menopause as you still have all your hormones.. I have had no pain at all since. I do still get PMS and a little back achey when I am due, but I will take that over a day in bed and screaming pain every month, Best thing I ever did and it was super easy recovery. I had robotic and honestly was up and about the next day. I took it easy for a week and was fine. Good Luck to all of you to get sorted. I know its the most miserable thing in the world.
