I had the Novasure ablation on 20th December 2016. I have been in horrendous pain ever since. I was bed ridden all over Christmas and I'm just fed up. I really think the hysterectomy is my only option. I'm 36 and my family is complete. I have 3 sons aged 16,14 and 5. I had a little girl that passed away at 5 days old. My Gp knows that I don't want any more children so I'm hoping she will refer me for a hysterectomy

I had Novasure Ablation, D&C And Tubal Litigation done Feb 2nd 2017. I had it done due to having my cycle every two weeks. This was after having pain in my left ovary region over a year ago. A small fibroid was found but I put off doing anything until i felt it was really necessary. During Dec 2016 the 2-3 times a month cycle started. That's when we decided on the procedures. Personally I don't have kids and never intend too. I am 37 years old and been with my husband for 17 years. So I decided to get the tubal at the same time. So far everything was good. My surgery was done on a Thursday and I was off work on Friday I was allowed to return on Monday as I work in an office and my staff are all very supportive to make sure I didn't lift or do anything i should not have. That Monday I had the absolute worst cramps ever. Last for almost a week. Guess I just tried to move about too much. Went back for follow up, everything came back good but i was still having pain and pressure when needing to urinate and around the left ovary still. Did another ultrasound to see if any issues from surgery. During ultrasound my tech noted that where the pain was at was actually over my bladder. The ovary is fine. Follow up with Dr, antibiotics for possible infection. Took last ones yesterday. Last week I had some string coming out of my wound. Needless to say the sutures did not dissolve as fast as my wound healed and had pushed it out. I went back to dr today and she cut it out. I had informed her i got my first cycle last Thursday and the cramps were extremely intense. I had very light bleeding considering what I had for many years and only lasted about 3 days. I never had the bad cramps before. She told me that the cramps will never go away until I hit menopause. She said to give it two months if they are to the point that I cant tolerate it the only thing from there is a hysterectomy. I would have rather did that to begin with. I guess health insurance and that I had not kids and my age that wasn't the first thing to come about. Just thought I would share my experience with everyone. I will tell you if you get all three done be gently with your belly area. You may think its ok but then you eat a big meal or do some strenuous activity, after a while you will get bad cramps and just want to lay down. My husband kept yelling at me to rest! Hey I am stubborn! :)

I had an ablation a few years ago. I've not had a period since, but cramp very badly ALL THE TIME. I've been steadily gaining weight ever since the ablation. Has anyone else had weight problems since their ablation?

Hello I'm 46 yrs old and had an ablation done about a yr ago all is great and feel awesome until these cramps started same time I use to get my monthly period there's no bleeding and the pain doubles me over and seems each month it gets worse and last for days at a time. Now it's getting more regular and towards the end there's maybe onext or two occasions of a brownish discharge...waking up with slight cramping every morning and uncomfortable most of the day.no period is great but now this ??

I had my ablation done just over a year ago because I appreciate all of your stories. It has been helpful to see all the common experiences. I was having heavy bleeding and severe pain due to endometriosis prior to my ablation. I have hypothyroidism and am a hormonal mess, so I don't want to take more hormones to counteract these issues. I had my fallopian tubes completely removed because I wanted no chance for another pregnancy and have read horror stories about Essure. I had read thoroughly before having the ablation done and just assumed I would be one of those women whose uterine lining would regrow. For a year, everything was perfect. I had no bleeding and no cramps. I had never had any symptoms of PMS besides fatigue my whole life, so life was good until a few months ago. I started noticing breast tenderness equivalent to the level of the beginning of pregnancy for a few days about every month. Two months ago it was accompanied by spotting just one time and some pressure, bloating and discomfort in my abdomen. Last month there was spotting throughout one day and some cramping in addition to the previous symptoms, but it was mild. This month there was spotting and all the other symptoms, but the pain, pressure and bloating is notably worse and hurts when I move. I'm not sure how many of you had endometriosis. I did have some spots removed outside my uterus as well. I'm sure I'm experiencing what a lot of you are, but I'm wondering if there is regrowth of endometrial tissue inside or outside my uterus and how many of you may be experiencing the same thing. I'm not as reluctant to have a hysterectomy, and if things get worse, I will go through with it. I was having debilitating pain prior to my ablation, and I don't want to be in the position again. I was glad to read one account of the details after a hysterectomy related to these issues. I hope to hear more. It amazes me how difficult a process it is to get doctors to understand when we can collaborate and find common ground.

Hi there! I've been trying to find someone who may have some of the same problems I'm having after my ablation... I'm struggling with the pains like everyone else has experienced and since the ablation I've struggled with a smell that won't go away. I've gone to my obgyn 8 times in the year I had my ablation with no results. I've seen several doctors in the same practice. The smell can be horrible, like I'm dirty and I'm not at all! I've never had anything like this! I've gone to my doctor every year like normal with no problems. Since the ablation, I've gained 12 pounds all in my stomach! I have no energy, and I'm depressed. All of this combined with the smell. I'm going to talk to my doctor about a partial hysterectomy. I can't think of any other solutions. Does anyone has any of these problems other than pain?

Wow, I thought I just had bad gas. I had the Novasure procedure several years ago due to extreme bleeding. Severe cramping and anemia. Now I just have the severe cramping and bloating a 3 to 4 times per year that lays me out from 3-5 days. Nothing helps the pain except laying down with heat. However hot flashes and menopause induced by total hysterectomy doesn't sound fun either

I am going through the very same thing. I cant get any help either. The gyno suggested a hysterectomy. I said for what reason? They had no answer for my severe cramping in lower back and above uterus. I also was thinking of going to ER but didnt. Ibuprofen 600 sometimes helps but it is so bad. Dont really know what else to do but i cant miss work.
