I smoked 2 days before hernia repair surgery and had no problems. But for 48 hours prior I did not smoke up nor drink any alcohol
Keyhole surgery on the 4th June and I smoked a lot of cannabis the night before and nothing affected me at all but it’s your choice weather to take the risk anastetic has a different reaction on people hope this has helped x

I know you’re fully healed by now, but for people in the future who find this. while it is technically safe, do you risk your wound not healing properly due to a lack oxygen, and possibly getting infected and the skin dying. However! I’d highly suggest you use edibles instead, much less risks but please never smoke BEFORE going under. It’s so incredibly dangerous, cannabis sedates your organs and adding another sedation serum can and WILL put you in the perfect position to form blood clots and soothe your body into dangerous territory. I agree that it is a medicinal plant, but I think it depends on the person. If you cough hard while smoking I feel you may have a risk of tearing stitches. But I'm not a doctor so I can be talking out my ass for all I know.
