Need Help? Read the whole part below.
Hi! after reading this till page X, i didnt find any helpful answer. I had to bear for a week and tried self healing. It worked. Time is the only key. I had 3 glasses of J&B, 6 glasses of Black label, 4 beers. I had a blast and twas my birthday. I vomited twice during the drinking session. I didn't have hangover afterwards. So the next morning, hours after the event, i went to work with a manly voice. (i am a woman). My throat is dry so i kept on drinking water. It helps. I noticed, on the 3rd day, i had dry throat. I coughed a lot at night, same as one of the people here. So what i did was (i am a nurse, so i now what to do), I took tums 1 tablet during night time when i cough. This is because, the drying of the back of the throat is due to the acid that went up when you vomited, this is not the normal flora of the throat. Acid shouldnt be present in this part of our body, so in order for it to self heal, there will be build up of mucus (the cough) to compensate the burnt area because of the acid and the alcohol that passed through when you vomited. So in order to heal that part as fast as you could, take vitamin C, a lot of water, gargle right after vomiting, try to clean and gargle it thoroughly. Warm water with salt will help to clear bacteria if there is any on your throat when you gargle. Then, take tums at night when cough is present, this will soothe the area that was burnt during the vomiting process. this in turn, will make your throat to produce less mucus, or protective/healing barrier that will cause post nasal drip, or phlegm that even when you cough, there is nothing. but when you take tums, it will help a lot. take 1 to 2 tablets per night. as recommended in the bottle. water, tums, gargle with salty warm water, sleep, vit C, liquid, and eat. do not hunger yourself.
Lesson learned, Do not drink. especially when you can't handle it. Or if you just gonna vomit it. it will burn your throat, and can eventually lead to throat cancer because acid is not really supposed to be in the throat.. Drinking will slowly kill you and your liver. so if you can, and since you've experienced this, dont do it again. if you must drink, in moderation. do not live the YOLO life. it wont help. the pain is unbearable and possiblities of you thinking "do i have cancer", am i gonna die?, or i cant even eat because its painful, drinking is not worth it after undergoing all the pain. but im here to help you guys who suffered like me. i learned it the hard way. And this aint the solution to your daily drinking habit if you drink almost every week or every day. This is a general help for those people who drank too much and needs help and wont do it again since they know whats like to be in serious pain im gonna die level.

Okay, so this forum really helped me out so I'm hoping I'll be able to help out a few people. Obviously, I consumed far too much alcohol and proceeded to throw up for like over 12 hours. Once the nausea was over, I was excited to try and eat something. Unfortunately, when I tried to eat I realized that I had burned that f**k out of my mouth and throat with the acid from my vomit. Lesson learned, anyway:
First thing, do NOT eat anything solid for a few days; it'll be rough but less painful compared to the pain from attempting to eat. I mainly stuck to smoothies because they're cold and nutritious, considering that we've been dehydrated and (most likely) drank on an empty stomach, we need as much nutrients as possible. I also ate yogurt and chicken broth for the first three days. I know some people have recommended not to eat anything, but I don't think thats a good idea. I tried not to eat and was simply in more pain due to head and stomach aches. Plus, you shouldn't take medicine on an empty stomach.
Second, Advil is your best friend. This is why eating something is so important, it won't work on an empty stomach and may actually make you throw up again. In my opinion, a smoothie really is your best option. Its good and easy to consume, plus nourishing. IMPORTANT only take Advil once you're finished throwing up, if the throwing up phase isn't over then hold on because the Advil will simply make you vomit even more.
Third, Chloraseptic MAX is your second best friend. Unfortunately, I only feel relief while the cough drop is in my mouth and for a bit afterwards but it's better than nothing. Especially, once I've consumed all the Advil I can for the day. Also, the drops are SOOO much better than the spray.
Finally, drink plenty of water to flush all the grossness out of your system. Milk is also helpful. Avoid soda, I drank some gatorade but mainly stuck to water because it felt the best in my throat. I stuck to cold drinks; I was too scared to try anything hot, but I read that tea helped a lot of people.
Today is my day 4 and I'm still uncomfortable, but feel SO much better compared to the first days. I'm actually going to try eating Mac N Cheese today. From what I've read, this miserable process takes about a week; I really, really hope that's true. At least the pain is subsiding, I am happy about that.
Good luck everyone! I hope none of us need to come back to this forum again.
