Did you find out anything yet? I had a complete hysterectomy back in 1994 when I was only 25 years old. I started having some brownish colored spotting back around October that would last only a day or so and not return for another couple of months. I woke up this past Saturday morning and there it was again on my panties - its always the brownish color like that of old blood. I had nothing yesterday then woke up this morning and their was more. I also notice it when I went to the restroom. I have linked it at times of doing it after a large bowel movement? I am really freaked out by this. I have had alot of problems over the years with adhesions and bowel obstructions and I probably couldnt count how many abdominal surgeries that I have had. I also have noticed some mild cramping this morning and when I walk everything inside feels sore like??? Anyone have any ideas?

for two years i have had very light spotting, not pain or bloating..i've had 3 pap smears plus another tests I can't remember the name...everything comes back normal and the doctor says I should just forget about it that it will stop eventually especially since I have been tested...i suggest you go to the doctor and get a pap smear, etc.

I also had hysterectomy more than a year ago with both ovaries still intact. My OB did say that because I still have ovaries, in theory, I'd still be menstruating minus the bleeding. So, 6 months after my hysterectomy, I started feeling monthly pains and since I know that not all of my endometriosis are gone, I still get endometrial pains and some spotting in brownish colour. At first, the doctors thought it was kidney problems or urinary tract infection, but ultrasounds and tests showed everything to be OK. After a few months of observing that the symptoms follow the same pattern...it was concluded that it is indeed menstruation still. So, I am no longer scared when it happens and I just deal with it the way I used to when I still had menstrual bleeding. The symptoms last 2-3 days, and then I am fine again.

Ok, somehow does anyone "spot" or bleed or whatever AFTER a hysterectomy when they remove tderive is and it's "closed" up tRerelease?! I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound mean. I KNOW that's how it sounds.I've had a hysterectomy 9 1/2 years ago. I've NEVER had any issues until tonight. I went to the bathroom and noticebros mall spots that were brown. Definitely dried blood. I had my uterus, cervix and one ovary removed. I've had a fullness feeling on and off for about a month, but I had constipation issues so I thought more so from that. I had a vaginal ring prescribed 2 months ago for dryness and the last intercourse was more than 36 hours ago, so I don't see it related to that. UTI??? I'm a little fearful. Trying not to worry to much.  Something I was watching was about 2 months ago, when I was putting in the ring, I noticed a polyp.

I had my hysterectomy 15 years ago. For the past 3 to almost 4 weeks have been having medium to heavy brown discharge. Just had the pap about a 7 days ago. No call yet. Don't know why this is happening but we will see.

I too had a complete hysterectomy, they took everything.  I have been on Premerin since 1987.  My husband has had bad health problems for years, so there was no intercourse for 13 years.  We finally were able to try, and it was a bit painful for me, and when I went in to the bathroom, I noticed a LOT of bright red blood, which did not continue.  We tried again later in the night, and no more blood, but the discomfort was still there, actually it was very painful.  I can't imagine why I would bleed like that, as I have never had any problems with this before.  I stopped going to the GYN years ago, I had nothing left, so I didn't see any reason to continue.  Any ideas out there?  Now that we can be close again, I want to be able to enjoy this part of our marriage again.

I have recently posted a story about myself its just below yours. But in response to your post I noticed that you said it hurts when you have sex. I had bad pain during sex before I had my total hysterectomy and I had extreme back pain, and it was due to endometreosis the OBGYN removed the endometreosis with a lazor by laproscopic surgery and it came back with in a month, that's why I had to have my hysterectomy. Also my sister had the same thing and ended up having a partial hysterectomy she only has one ovary and her biggest complaint was extreme pain during sex. Since one lady on here responded that she has the same symptoms and her doctor said she has endometreosis in the cuff of her vagina and all the information I'm getting from all the other stories on here, I'm betting that its endometreosis. the statistics for endometreosis is that 90% of women have it and many dont even know they have it because the symptoms are alot like menstrual aches and pains very few have extreme pain until they are basically eat up with it. From what I read in a informational pamphlet, endometreosis is caused due to heavy menstrual cycles and back flow. Most women either had very heavy bleeding during their cycle or they had missed periods often (you really are still having your cycle it just doesn't come out because its flowing inside you this is what doctors call back flow) or irregular cycles. I had all but the missing cycles. what happens is the blood settles on the lining of your Uterus and causes little black flakes that looks like pepper. My doctor video taped my surgery for me that's how I know this. To me it sounds like we have Endometreosis I don't know how we are bleeding know is the only thing that's confusing to me but I'm just making an educated guess based on everyone's statements.

sounds like Endometreosis I had it and that's why I had to have a total hysterectomy, that and ovarian cysts. something that I just remembered about my pain back then (it's been 13 years since I had my surgery) I also had pain in my upper thighs. It was kind of like a pulling or muscles over stretched sensation starting from my hips and going down the front on my thighs and going only about half way down my thigh. But if its not endometreosis the only other thing I can think of is ovarian cysts. The cyst fills up with infectious blood, which is old blood and is usually black or brownish and stinks. When you have an ovarian cyst that ruptures it hurts bad. And you think you need to go to the hospital but if you did by the time you got there all the pain would be gone and you would feel just fine, leaving you to think your going crazy because you just had this terrible pain before and then in a blink of an eye its gone. You also have alot of nagging back pain too while the cyst is forming or filling up. The pain is in your mid back like just below your shoulder blades and can stretch down to your low back. Let me know what you think or find out from your doctor I'm curious. Reply to this post or to my email

Wow it's amazing how many women are going through the exact same thing... I had a complete hysterectomy over 15 years ago because I had Fibroid cysts on my uterus wall,  I am now 50 yrs old and for the last 2 months I have been urinating a little more than usual, and when I go to the bathroom I have this light pink bloody discharge with like a white mucus substance with it, and it's also in my underwear. I went to a doctor about a month ago, and he said that I had UTI (Urinary Track Infection) so he gave me some meds to take, but this did not help at all.. I can go like one day and have no blood or discharge at all, then the next day it comes back... I don't really notice any unusual pain except for in my lower back at my tail bone, but I thought this was caused from my back injury, I have 3 ruptured disks... but now I am wondering if it is tied together.... What really sucks for me right now is I have no job, no insurance to go and see another doctor... after reading all of these posts could it be that maybe the doctors didn't do to us what they said they did or something... this is really strange....

It seems if there is any uterine tissue left, you can have slight bleeding.  I still have my cervix and the doctor told me that due to the placement of the fibroids, it was difficult to tell where the cervix ended and the uterus started.  I still have uterine tissue apparently because I have the slightest little periods occasionally.  Mostly I don't even notice them.  It's been happening since the surgery.
