Oh my gosh I completely understand you and i think I'd be able to handle it outside of school but oh my god it is so terrifying when the classroom goes quiet and you know it's going to make a noise. Recently I've started leaving my lessons because I get so panicked that I literally cannot stand to be there and I really desperately need it to stop but nothing is working what do I do??

Thought I was the only one... I’m still going through this in college.. im 20 and this started happening once I was in 10th grade I believe.. But for me it only happens when i’m nervous and sometimes when i’m not. I try to take a sh*t before I leave the house because it helps. Whenever I have to fart I hold it in and sometimes my body will make a noise from my ass but it’s not a fart, or my stomach will make a sound.
I live in ny and once Regents came around it was bad because I was nevous.
I don’t know how to fix this problem.. The crazy thing is, it only happens when i’m in school which I f*****g hate. I missed days because of this or even skipped certain classes. When it came down to taking a test I would guess through the whole thing so I could hurry up & get out the class.

same here, whenever I felt it coming I would go through my bookbag just to make noise so no one would hear my sh*t growl

I just wanted to share my experience in that I don't recommend taking Nexium for a terribly long time without breaks. I took it for 2 years and it started to get wacky. Definitely listen if your doctor hesitates to refill her prescription. Even though you can just get it over the counter and "double up," make sure the doctor thinks it's a fine idea.

I have a theory about this (I read this post a long time ago and never forgot about it). Freelee the Banana Girl talked about how people aren't designed to sit on the toilet; we're designed to squat because our thighs and stuff help us to make sure we get all our sh*t out. When people have remnants of sh*t that they're not passing, it builds up in the colon, and this is what can cause colon cancer. Thus the invention of the Squatty Potty and things like that. This is just a thought, but like I mentioned, I've been thinking about this post for a long time.

please please google SIBO.
cut ALL carbs or look into Dr. Siebecker’s specific carb diet. This will drastically reduce the noises and make sure you go to the bathroom every morning as this reduces the noises too

Hi, I just want to let you know, you’re not the only person with this problem. I’ve had this problem since year 9 and have still got it. I’ve had several tests done, been with hospital for several years and nothings been resolved. I get petrified and have panic attacks when I know I have to sit for a meal with new people. I can’t even enjoy myself sometimes because I know sometimes meeting new people requires being a quiet room and just talking, but even that scares me. I think about this problem everyday and I have to study from Home because like you, I used to run to bathroom and hide in there all lesson as I couldn’t take the silence. Ever since year 9 I’ve had a phobia of silence. I now can’t even get on a train full of people as I get scared in case when the train stops at a station it will go quiet and people will hear my stomach. I do know tho, that the worry that I get before the sounds happen again does make it worse, but I’m exactly like you. I never used to care about being in a silent environment, my anxiety only started when this problem started. No one understands unless they have the problem. I just wanted to let you know you’re not the only one. I hope you resolve it, I hope I do too

I have had this humiliating issue for over ten years. If your stomach growls, it's not THAT embarrassing. You can always say you're hungry. But when your lower regions (butt) starts growling, that is extremely embarrassing because it sounds like you're passing gas. People around me squirm and cough. I used to be afraid they think I'm disgusting and some people have actually laughed at me.
After all these years, one thing I've learned is: YOU HAVE TO STOP CARING ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU. Yes, we have this embarrassing issue but nobody's perfect. The idiots who laugh or criticize us are worthless at the end of the day. So my first advice is to stop worrying about what others think of you (this takes a lot of practice). My second advice is to eliminate junk food from your diet. Sure, the growling still happens sometimes but eating spicy, fried, oily, sugary foods will make it worse. My third tip is to try MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) which is basically organic sulfur. This is a powerful antioxidant, it eliminates parasites, repairs the lining of your digestive tract and can even treat candida (yeast infections). Always start taking LOW doses because it's very powerful and detox symptoms can be scary. Good luck everyone!

Hi,
MSM is definitely making me more regular. I tend to be constipated so at least it's helping me in that area so far.....going regularly is very important. I noticed that the growling noises happen less when more regular. Will update in a month or so.
Try to focus on your tests and like I said, you have to realize that what others think of you, is not important. Will you even be seeing half of your classmates in 5 years or 10??
