If you use your cell phone a lot with your head down or down and to one side then that is probably the cause. Consider trying not to be in a head down position as this position is damaging to the neck. It affects swallowing, breathing, talking and sleeping. It only gets worse if we dont stop doing this.
If you use electronics, especially cell phone with your head always down or down and to one side then this causing you a big problem.
You need to change this head down posture. I have the same thing and I figured it out. It affects my swallowing, breathing, talking and sleep. And it is painful during my activities. We have to help ourselves and quit habitually looking down at electronics. It is hard because we love our cell phones.

Its likely from a lot of head down posture looking at cell phones especially. It is serious. We have to limit this bad head down position.
If you are often in a head down position try to stop. Try to fall asleep on your back with your arms straight out to each side. Try to do this at night and in the morning fir 1/2 hour.
I have exactly the same thing going on on my right side. Did you ever figure it out? Is it muscular?
Please get checked for parathyroid disease, especially since you have bone pain. It is usually caused by a tumor on one of the four parathyroid glands behind your thyroid. It is curable but can be really bad if left untreated. You need your calcium and PTH checked with a blood test.
I've got the same in the right side of my knock, towards the middle every time i swallow or tilt my head
I have the same pain on left side of my neck deep inside but the inside of throat seems to be fine. I have also had swollen lymph nodes on left side. Drs just disregard it ...don't you know there's fifty patients behind ya, lol. Having cancer once already concerns me very mu
I can so relate...mine feels as if a muscle gets tight & then has to relax it self. Problem is it happens & then I can't breath or swallow. It scares me but noone sees anything out of the ordinary.
I have the exact same symptoms as you do (did) there is little to no pain in the morning and he gets progressively worse throughout the night. I don't have any cold symptoms or anything else of that nature just the sore spot in the neck like you have said.I am currently between health plans and don't have insurance I am desperate for a cure can you please tell me what you did? Thank you
Hi have you ever figured out the problem. I am experiencing this for 8 weeks and now starting to get dizzy when. I lay back and lean forward. This started happening 5 days ago. I felt like I was going to pass out. Only the first time the spinning feeling happened.
I feel I have this exact problem. Went in for thyroid since i show those symptoms and twin sister had hers removed. Got the t tests went to see specialist. I have cysts as well on both sides but he says that would not cause the pain im having or other symptoms. I receive pain the bottom left of neck, top under chin right and left side but my left is where the most pain is. I went in a yr or 2 for my jaw hurting and cramping up (said i had arthritis in my jaw but no test or anything was done more like he was guessing) and after I read this, im really starting to think I have the same thing. I have an apt with a ENT person in two weeks so we will see or are they not the right ones to go to?

Feels like a pulled muscle
I really think this depends on the person, but if it is completely unexplainable by the doctors then it is most likely neck muscle / tendon inflation IMHO, I have just developed the same thing and think it is related to too muck head down on the computer / too much golf, if it doesn't show as anything after altra sound and possible ENT scoping then I'm just going to assume that and try to cure it through treating it that way.
Did your pain resolve or improve? I am also dealing with the same. Thank you.
