I've been having this exact same thing. It continued about 48 hours and it came on after I did a lot of heavy lifting moving things out of an apartment. It was like a vibrating sensation in my right butt cheek, like my butt was purring. I never put my cell phone in my back pocket so I knew it wasn't a phantom sensation. I couldn't feel it from the outside and it was unlike any muscle spasm I've had. It wasn't a twitching, but a clear vibration, like there was something fluttering in there. It would come and go seemingly at random -- vibrating on and off for ten minutes, and then vanishing for an hour. If I touched my clitoris, the vibrations matched my strokes (not the best masturbation session I've had). I read this forum and freaked out that it might be pinworms, but I don't have any other symptoms like an itchy anus or nighttime sensations.
However -- I've experienced no vibrations for about twelve hours now. I'm just going to be frank, I had been farting all day and finally pooped for the first time in over twenty-four hours. The vibrations stopped immediately afterwards but the gas has persisted. I saw someone on here suggest that it's gas, and I think that's what it was for me. It's strange because I didn't feel any other symptoms of gas or any discomfort.
Either way, I would guess that it is not serious, especially if you find that you haven't defecated in a while. I did see some other people on different websites suggest pinworms, so if it doesn't relieve itself or you experience itchiness definitely check that out.

My friend had this too n it eventualy started to hurt so we seen the doc n he told him its a varicose vein pulsing depending on how big the vein is if it small u just feel a pulse every once in a while if its big it feels like ur gettin stabbed in the but. Everything ive read so far its the same thing my friend had and all u can do is let it pulse it wont kill ya it just dont go away. I hope this helps everyone. :)
This started for me earlier in the week. It is very annoying and kind of stimulating too which makes things worse. I can only feel it when I am sitting or lying down. At first I thought I was farting. I believe it is a strain in the pelvic floor muscles. I have been doing more exercises including and exercise where I would spread my legs for long periods and try to reach forward. I believe I have strained the pelvic floor muscles. Also, I may be in perimenapause and muscle weakness can be a symptom. If you google pelvic vibrating you will find the same thing. The pelvic floor muscle is all over your bottom area and doesn't get much use. Most people do report it is related to stress and it will go away.
What a affirmation saying you got it from your students!
