I'm 18, and I have an unexpected sensation of warmth in my feet. Non-diabetic. It is very quick, it happens with the warmest being first then cools down until it is gone, probably 7 seconds max. Happens quite rarely and sometimes often. Upon touching the foot that has the sensation there is no correspondence, as if the feeling is solely to the foot. Happens only to one foot at a time, never both together. Sometimes the sensation is a sudden cold rush, although almost very rare. Sensation of flush reaches to the top of the calf. Sometimes confuses me with spilled water or incontinence (not something I have). I am flat foot, this means my feet do not contain a medial arch.

Okay, so i thought I was crazy! A few days ago, started feeling a warm sensation over the top part of my right foot too.
Worries me because no one can pinpoint why it is happening, or what causes it.
There is no pain. Yet?? Feels like I have icy hot on my foot. I sit most of the day at the computer for work.

Diabeties run in my family. Grandfather on one side. Grandmother on the other.

Started having issues with standing when I was young around 8yrs old.  Toe walking. Was put in braces and cast to get disorflection ? in
my ankles for a year.

About 10 years ago, something went wrong. Had pain in my neck. Thought I slept wrong. Couldn't move my neck left or right, up or down without
being in pain. Tips of my left hand went numb. First finger was numb for a month which prompt me to go to the ER. By this time it hurt to sit or stand.
Left shoulder elevated up to my ear. Neck out of alignment.
Spine looked like spaghetti. Doctor said the only way that could happend was I would have to be in a car accident. Which I was not. Went to an Orthapedic surgon.Had MRI done, but moved before I could get results. then started feeling better.

Just wondering if these things are related??

What have you all heard as far as causes??

Hello I have the same thing, I google this information, and saw several post relating to this so I'm not alone. Has anyone found an answer to this strange outcome.

I am 35 and am having this symptom in increasing frequency. Went to a neuologist and she could not explain it and said it could be stress/anxiety related. Well, I hope that is all it is as this is distressing and certainly neuologic in nature. I feel anxiety is a cop out answer to explain it, easy way out but I can't find any other explanation. I am otherwise healthy, I do worry a lot and don't sleep the best, but that is nothing new for me. I had MRIs that did not indicate MS which was my biggest fear. I'll keep searching.

A few days ago I started to feel heat in my left foot. I was wearing slippers and just sitting around the house in my jammies. Than it started to happen again today. I was wearing sandles so I touched my foot to see if it was warm when I felt the heat. It was cold.

I'm not very active, I'm 40 years old, I do take birth control pills, I sit a lot at a computer but I also stand to do my business (Home based parties). I don't smoke but I'm overweight. A year ago I took pills to lose 40 pounds. I also was on extreme low calories. But that was at least 6 months ago. I have since started to eat a lot again and gained back the weight.

I dye my hair. I drink coffee everyday with creamer in it. Not sure if it's splenda or other sweetner.

I'm not really stressed out but I have not been sleeping well lately. Could lack of sleep be it?

Seems weird that it's just the left foot.

Why doesn't someone (a doctor) answer this question? Seems like a lot of people are having this problem.

I've gotten warm sensations in the bottom of my right foot as well... towards the middle.  I'm a 26 year old man, in decent shape.  Not sure if I'm diabetic or anything like that... but I have been drinking a lot of coffee (with milk and sugar) lately, and sitting at the computer a lot the last few days.  Also have been consuming a bit more sweets/sugars than usual.  And I usually get only 3 to 5 hours of sleep per night.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has found any answers... I started having the same feeling (my right foot) and once on my left, about  a week ago. I am otherwise healthy.  Thought I'd Google before consulting a doctor.

I'm a typical 17 year old guy and I've been having this warm foot/feet thing too, it seems odd and I'd guess at it being something to do with nerves as somebody had suggested before.

Im 61, not overweight or diabetic. I just started a couple of days ago with a warming feeling at the bottom of my right foot, not the arch, not the heal, just the ball of my foot. By the time I take my shoe off to investigate it goes away. It doesn't hurt but comes and goes and now more often then at first. I do not run and if I did why not both feet?

Can anyone give us an answer?

I have the same feeling in my RIGHT foot. Not overweight, not diabetic. It happened after I started Pilates. Based on all the responses, it sounds like a fairly common thing. Maybe attributed to a new exercise regime.

It is your liver, baby! I have had these symptoms for over 2 years. There are only 3 reasons (1) over eating  (2)  Eating allergy provoking vegetables, like cabbage, pumpkin, egg plant, jack fruit, etc  (3)  chemical allergies.

Remedy?  (1) Eat less food, more often  (2)  Coook your own food, at home, since the cooking medium is very important. Use one of the : sunflower oil, olive oil, or desi ghee extracted from cow milk (2) Always be alert for food allergies. Usually the signs are like those of gastroenteritis.  If condition arises, use 3 or 4 drops (yes!) of a children's cough expectorant (it contains a gentle anti-allergin, and will make breathing easier. However, even should not be done more than once a month).  (3)  Try to move your residence to a clean, cool hill station [There is such a one, in northern India].
