If both of your eyes have swollen eyelids, it could be a sign of kidney issues. The whole body is connected.

Hi. I just read this post. I'm experiencing the same thing. From GP I went to Eye doctor. New ointment and drops given. But looks like getting worst after using 3 says now. Just wondering what did u do after? Did u just continue the meds and waited weeks more to see improvement?

Ice is amazing for swelling I got an alergic reaction to eyebrow tint and my whole face including my eyelids to swell, and I got steroids and nothing was working so I put ice on it and the swelling went down so much in about 5minutes

I have been dealing with swollen eyelids for 2 years now.. When I used warm water in my eyelids, they started to burn and was swelled very badly the next morning.. I can only use cool water on mine.. I have been tested for allergies and that came back negative.. Went to another allergies and he thought it was my tear glands were clogged up.. So he put me on a cleaning regiment with steroid cream 2x a day.. 2 weeks later, it's back.. I can feel it tingling and burning.. So I know by morning, I will look hideous.. I have been on prednisone, shots allergy pills, creams and antibiotics.. Nothing has worked... Been broke out almost every week for the past 5 months.. Really don't know what to do.. And yes.. I have changed make ups, removers and cleaning products... I am at the end of my rope.. Can anyone help me with something new? I really just want to cry but I know that will only make it worse!

yeah, that's what I have been doing also and realized it gets fluid out especially in the morning when I wake up. I had not read anything or asked for advise when I started this but I think it works, it's been three days with this but my only question is how long it's gonna last?

Thanks for the advice. I am going to try the ice. Woke up with a swollen eyelid. This is disappointing because I went through 6 months of hell with my eye last year and thought it was over. Last summer I had a major eye infection. A stye (perhaps) that went bad. I had to go on IV antibiotics as it turned into cellulitis. I was left with a chalazion that, over a 6 month period, reduced in size so much that I didn't require surgery. Yeahh. I do have blepharitis, which may put me at risk to these kinds of infections. My son had impetigo (staph) this week and my daughter started to get some similar infections around some mosquito bites. I have a very, very sore throat. I wonder if my throat infection is caused by staph and some cross contamination occurred. My throat is so sore I cannot sleep, which others have discussed as a factor in eyelid swelling. For those of you who do warm compresses, ask your eye doctor about ordering the Bruder mask It works when eyelid is slightly swollen, but i'm not convinced it helps when the situation is acute. I am going to cool this mask in the freezer and see how it works.

I have had the same problems with sinusitis and swollen eyelids for a very long time Recently I found out the culprit of it all when I was diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome - an auto immune disorder that causes your body to attack the glands in your eyes and mouth. It causes extreme dyness and the eyes can eventually stop making tears at all

i have had the same thing! its especially weird because i am the only one who notices the difference in my eyes. It makes my eyes look smaller, and above the lid is sort of hanging over my eyelid itself???? idk if that makes sense, but its worst when I wake up. My eye doctor prescribed Cortizone 10 as a quick fix many months ago, (its been like this for almost a year now, on and off) and it worked! but then, it started to come back, and now the cortizone 10 barley works at all. I don't know what else to do

Hi how is it going now?

I have the same issue the upper eyelid (around the brow) hangs over my eyelids where my lashes are if that makes sense. I am hating it! docs say could be kidneys as I have protein in my urine. Hows the issue going?
