Hi. Im 23 years old and have been having breast pain on both sides of breast for a while now. I'm a size D so I do know because of the size I will have some pain but this seems strange. I feel pain on BOTH outer sides closest to the breast instead of the armpit. I do experience it more on my right though. I feel the pain so bad that my husband can't hug me or when he is "spooning" me and has his arm around my chest are on my breast its feels so painful and uncomfortable, it's right where the pain always is. Soemtimes I can't even lay on my sides because I feel like im "smushing" them to the extreme. Now for tha last 2 weeks I feel a sharp stabbing pain on/off on both breast. I have never felt this before and its in my breast not ribs or chest. I feel it from my breasts. I made a Dr. appt in 4days but if anyone has any advice it would be very nice. I broke down and cried today because it's come to the point that when I sleep my spouse can't even put his arm around me or hug me while standing because of the pain. It seriouslly feels like someone is smushing them down and I can feel something on the sides. I know it's not my menstrual also cause I've had these symptoms for a while now. Please help anyone with advice! Thank you :-(
I am 37 years old and have been experiencing the same pains in my left breast and yes it's a sharp diaganal pain on the inside. I also have what looks like a pimple on my nipple area that hurts like hell when anything touches it. Don't know if I should go in or not. Any suggestions????
HI there, I think that it's possible that you have a swollen gland which would cause a problem like you are describing. I think a gyno would be able to help determine that but you should take heart that the gland issue is probably the problem. Can you let me know how it goes?
i am also a 21 year old who has the pain in my left breast more when im at work. moving around. what could this be??????
I am wondering if it might not have something to do with your bra. Are your breasts even or is one larger than the other. What do you think?
I have the same problem I have sharp pains in my right breast on the side mostly sometimes it's different. But I noticed it mostly happens when I am working sometimes it does come out of nowhere though. And also like you I have no insurance so I can't afford to go to the doctor. Any one have any ideas. Im scared and need answers.

I had this pain and got cancer and had a mastectomy and chemo. Only one other post seems to have this same experience. I had the pain maybe a year prior to cancer diagnosis. It was intermittent. Could go weeks without it or feel it a few times a day or every other day. It seemed worse when at work and under huge stress. I also drank lots of coffee and ate lots of cheese.
I did not have it checked out. Please have it checked. You are not being overly dramatic.
Kind Regards

Hi I'm 15 and I've been getting these sharp pains in my left breast as well. It's like right where the armpit and the boob kind of meet. I just excersised for the first time in awhile yesterday so I'm thinking that might be it but I'm not sure
I am 35 and have been experiencing the same needle-like pain radiating through the nipple of my left breast. I have had no pregnancies, injuries, or family history of this to speak of. I generally have 2 cups (6oz. is considered 1 cup) of coffee in the morning, and love dairy of all kinds...My left breast has typically been the larger since my teens, although lately it has appeared noticeably larger. There are no unusual lumps, and no surface symptoms, also no discharge. WebMD lists symptoms of mastitis as attributable to breast-feeding almost exclusively, but I have found other sites that suggest mastitis can have several causes that are not linked to pregnancy and breast-feeding - but some have said actually smoking, and foreplay! I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow and will follow through with at least an ultrasound, as I am due for my baseline based on my age. I have found by keeping a log that this does track with my menstrual cycle, so suggest that anyone experiencing this write down the timing of these pains and your cycles for a period of time...Also, ALWAYS take a problem lasting longer than 2 weeks, or recurring more than 3 times to a DOCTOR. Holistic and Alternative treatments do hold value, but you can start all these things at the same time you are seeking a diagnosis. Nothing, not your age, not the eye-roll of the receptionist at your doctor's office, nor a desire to not appear paranoid, should keep you from seeking a professional opinion.
I am 25 and have had sharp stabbing pains in my right breast intermittently and randomly over the past month. However, yesterday I had a severe ache in my right arm, that again was intermitant but was an very painful 'dull' ache concentrating on the elbow region. This morning, I have no arm ache or breast paid but the edge of my armpit is very sore.
I am very reluctant to see my GP as he seems unwilling to acknowledge anything and sends us off again (feedback from other patients too)
Thank you

I'm 25 and have been having same sharp pain in my right breast for probably about 2 weeks. I drink just one cup of coffee in the morning and a lot of tea. Also I'm trying to get pregnant so I've been taking pre-natal supplement, folic acid and fish oil. The pain feels like it's closer to the nipple and more deep. The right breast is also swollen (mine are normally the same size). I've felt no lumps, but I'm paranoid because my mom got diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of years ago after she had been having pain in her breast. Thankfully it was caught early and treated with radiation and chemo. I'm going to my internal medicine doctor on Monday to get it checked out. Will post an update afterward. %-)
I guess if you don't register your name appears as guest, I'm the same person who posted on 02/19/10, just wanted to give an update on my Dr. visit. I had my appointment today and after my Dr. examined me she said that it's probably nothing to worry about because I'm young but here are the possibilities. She says that I most likely have small cysts, which are benign, but sometimes they can swell which causes tenderness and pain in the breast. The small cysts will not turn into cancer and it's nothing to worry about. Usually they just appear because of your hormones. Also if you drink a lot of caffeine that could cause the small cysts as well. The other possibility (although unlikely) is fibroadenoma, which I guess is basically like a growing mass in your breast tissue. Again she said it won't cause cancer but if it's painful and won't go away on its own then it can be removed. The most certain way to be sure is of course to get an ultrasound.
Since my last post my pain is better, although it still is tender. But definitely not as bad. I'm going to wait a couple more weeks and see if the pain will completely go away. If not then I'll go and get an ultrasound. I feel much better after going to my Dr. For someone who's still experiencing pain I recommend that you go to your Dr. the sooner the better, so your mind can be at ease. Or if there is seriously something wrong (ex. cancer) it's much better to get it checked sooner then later. I hope this helps. :-)

Hello to all, I will be 26 in two weeks and I have been having sharp pains in my left but mostly my right breast. I feel the pain when I press on the spots on my breast like when I give someone a hug. A few days ago I was trying to get up onto something very high and i pressed down on my breasts very hard in the process. I am wondering if it just might be an internal bruise. Any replies?
