I get thick layers of dandruff and only way I get it out is by scratching it out with a sharp comb. I shake the dandruff on black paper and put it in jar. I use the dandruff for plant food and my plants grow strong.

if the dandruff is due to a scalp infection / fungus, washing MORE and avoiding things like hair products/oils is recommended --- anything that allows your scalp to remian clwan, dry and able to "breath" is best.
Wash hair MORE.
Use LESS products.
When using medicated shampoos try parting your hair in sections and applying shampoo as directly onto your scalp as possible. Directions say to let the shampoo sit for 5 minutes, but you might want to try leaving it on all day (if can get away with this).
Keep yourself hydrated
Try to reduce stress
If you sweat alot (say, from daily exercise, yard work, etc), wash your hair daily. Use the medicated shampoo every other wash until dandruff subsides.
See your dermatologist.

My sister in law is a very good hair dresser but i decided to check online first that's why I'm here. She told me to use yellow Listerine to wash my hair with as posted above. Should work I'm thinking.

Try gold or yellow Listerene. Let it soak into the scalp but make sure you don't have open sores as this will sting them. Than wash it out. Repeat as necessary until it clears up. Than use head and shoulders if you need to keep it at bay.

These are the ingredients in the original (yellow) Listerine:
Active Ingredients
Eucalyptol 0.092%
Menthol 0.042%
Methyl salicylate 0.060%
Thymol 0.064%
Inactive Ingredients
Water
alcohol (26.9%)
benzoic acid
poloxamer 407
sodium benzoate
caramel
Thymol (a natural antibacterial) comes from the herb Thyme and is the only ingredient in original Listerine that has actual medicinal benefit in the treatment of dandruff. You can make a nice rinse by pouring near-boiling water over stems of fresh thyme to make a tea. Let it cool to comfortably warm and pour it over your hair, letting it all drain into another bowl or saucepan. Alternative between the first and second containers to pour through hair enough times to be certain the scalp is saturated. You can make this tea and rinse your mouth with it for treatment of sore gums, as you sometimes get after a visit to the dental hygienist for a cleaning.
Other ingredients are of dubious benefit. The first three active ingredients are irritating and appear to have been added just to provide a tingle. Among the inactive ingredients, the 26.9% alcohol is drying. The others are either just preservatives or cosmetic, for color (caramel) and have no value in the treatment of this scalp condition.

I also have a dandruff problem. Try using Nizoral Shampoo. It works well in minimizing the amount of dandruff accumulated. With continued use, the dandruff will disappear However, during the cold months, it may resurface. So, it is important to keep this shampoo in your regimen. I've noticed that when I don't use it for a while, the dandruff reappears in FULL force.

Pls suggest the medicine name and shampoo name here. So that we can buy that tooo.
