I had halal bladder surgery on 12/8/16 I went septic,got monarchical pneumonia,blood clots,had to have a plastic stent put in was in icu for seven days,and the hospital for fourteen. March 8th go back to have the stent removed,and it got llego I have to go back the next day to the big surgery room at Presbyterian in Denton they take it out after they find it.I go home,and at midnight I start running a high fever,so they put a metal one in cause Dr.Ray said it he didn't I would die in 24hrs!Now I stay in the hospital another ten days.During this time I had a nervous breakdown.Jump forward to today I went to the bathroom,and the metal stent came out,so I go to the Er .since I am here at Baylor with my darling husband Bobby,and the Dr.tells me my bloodwork looks excellent just to keep my app.with Dr.Rag. Same exact situation. Yes, the surgeon cut your bile duct that is why they installed a stent for 6 weeks. Hopefully, you got a lawyer. If so, what was your reward. I'm still waiting.

I became Septic years later and almost died. If you have any health issues since surgery...blood protein in urine, bowel or g.I. issues...blood triponin or liver enzyme levels too high...go get a full blood work up and have them check for Sepsis. My bile duct closed gradually for years to a pin hole size...it was years before I found out the Dr. nicked my common bile duct.

I had my gallbladder taken out in 2016 and have had 5 sets of bile ducts stents put in. I can not catch a break. I now have bile duct strictures all the time. I have been to the best of doctors and they don't know what to do either and it is miserable and life ruining. sick all the time.

I had my gallbladder removed in the 1970's it was major surgery back then, I am doing great, I am 72 know. I have a 12 in scar & a smaller scar where a tube was. But you will be fine.

I had my gallbladder taken out 3 years ago, I only had 3 stones but my surgeon was adamant to remove gallbladder. After my surgery surgeon told me my gallbladder was inflamed my op took about 3 hours. I was in hospital for 2 weeks, 4 days after op I had to have a stent put in but I didn't have to go back to have it removed. It wasn't until I saw my medical notes I realised I had acute cholecystitis. All the hospital staff where I was were amazing

Anyone here who recently had a gallbladder removed and they cut into your bile ducts and now have stents that need to be removed? I still have a stent in getting it removed in a few weeks time.

I had this happen in 2015 and I am going to tell you I almost lost my life and my children were almost without a mother and its because the robotic clamp clipped my bile duct. I had to have a drain tube in my abdomen for 2 weeks at home also had a stent removed a month after it was placed but I still somehow have clamps in there. 2 of them and Im not sure they are supposed to be. now I am having high levels in my pancreas and having to do tests to figure out what the problem is. I'm a forgiving person and forgave the first mishap as long as i could go home and be with my family. If this is a mistake this time by not removing the clamps. bc if the duct repaired why do I have clamps still???? I won't be so forgiving this time around. someone or a few WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR f*****g ME UP FOR A LONG TIME!!! Excuse my language but having a stomach ache every time I eat gets old and I'm tired of it.It has slowed my life down tremendously and effected so many things....NO MORE

Many times a stint and/or drain must be placed because of an abscess or a blocked biliary duct.
This is common.

i had severe feet swelling after a gangrenous "gall bladder explosion" and removal. It appears advice to take potassium exacerbated the swelling which was now attributed to infected liver and kidneys. 800+ mg Amoxicillin for 3-4 days corrected it.
