I'm really nervous. Had biopsy done last week. My Estrogen was 1400, Uterine lining measured 24.8mm, and I have bilateral ovarian lesions. What is a Hypoechoic lesion? Measures 14x20x29mm. Cancer likely?

I am 60, post-menopausal with a 12mm intrauterine wall. I had the endometrial biopsy about a month ago and it was uncomfortable, but fast, only 15 min or so. I had soreness and bleeding after - lots of bleeding, like a very heavy period. Like you, I was pummeled with threats of cancer, hyperplasia, etc. My primary provider ordered Provera for me to try to see how much of the lining I could shed on my own. The recommendation, however, is a D&C with a hysteroscopy for direct visualization to make sure there is no sign of hyperplasia or malignancy. My biopsy was clear with "crowding" of the cells that made them suspicious of hyperplasia in unsampled areas of the uterine lining. I am holding off on the D&C for now until I see what the Provera can do. This all came about because after a year and a day of no periods that started at age 57, I started having regular, monthly light periods. I didn't think anything about it, but the NP who does my paps was fairly mortified. "SIXTY YEAR OLD WOMEN DO NOT HAVE PERIODS!" I am obese, so the estrogen that was hanging out in those fat cells evidently kept building up lining and I didn't have the progesterone kicking in to get rid of it. Fast forward three years later and my caregiver was very upset that I hadn't come in about it. I just figured my body was finishing up whatever it had been doing.

I am 43 and my uterine lining is 21.67 mm. What are the end result experiences? The doctor would prefer a d&c outpatient surgery instead of in-office biopsy. Is end result be hysterectomy for most?
