I have pain in my stomach, but not my belly button. It started after clomid treatment after being diagnosed with unexplained infertility when I was 37 by my gynochologist. I've gone from never having period pains to crippling pain starting on day 2 of my period. The day before I start my period I suffer with diarrhoea. I can't eat as it worsens the pain and painkillers don't work. I've been back to the docs but they are useless and aren't interested, because every woman suffers with period pain, though my pain is only in my stomach. I physically can't do anything but go to bed for days.
Just found this forum after searching my symptoms. This is the first time ever that I have had period pains like this, all targetted on my upper abs and back, and a pulling/burning sensation until I'm either sick or crying in agony. Funnily enough the only thing that has helped stop it in the past 24 hours was my 2hour gym workout, didn't have any pain at all until an hour after I got home. Hot water bottle soothes it until its bareable, but drugs do not work at all! Has anyone gone to a doctor about this? My biology lecturer seems to think it is because I have been trying to body build the past few months, and increase in back and ab muscle means more muscles to cramp up, but I don't know. I just need some advice on any yoga, drugs, stretches, foods, anything to keep them away. :(
My girlfriend is haveing this I'm scared she could be pregnant have any of you had sex or anything before these pains or is it a common thin
I am having the same issue. I have the abdominal pain on the second day of my period and sometimes I vomit to feel better. I have tried drinking nyequil before sleeping and it helps me sleep through the night.

I feel like I'm the youngest in all the replies, I dance 3 times a week but when I'm on my period it's fine on the first day but the second day when I get up from sitting down or after eating I get a pulling feeling in my stomach near my belly button or like a sharp pain and it hurts to walk, I've only had my period for about 5 months but only started last month and did the same this month
I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only one ! Omg the pain is terrible while I'm on my period. It's a pulling sensation as if my stomach is about to pop for about two days ! It's ruins my days. Some days I'll be just walking and out of nowhere while I'm out it just terrible to where I can't stand up :( if I have to pee or poop it hurts my stomach I'll literally be constipated for about a day before I can go and when I do it's terrible pain. I've had multiple Pap smears they see nothing so I guess it's just our luck
Hi. Have you ever had a laparoscope done to confirm that you don't have endometriosis?
Endometriosis. I never had it before. My drs have told me you can get this anywhere, it doesn't have to only be in/ around the uterus. The first time I noticed this the pain was BAD, I couldn't even lean on a counter or have anything touching my belly button without it hurting. It comes and goes... usually around my period. The timing has changed over the years with my hormone fluctuations.
I'm having the same issue it's right at the top of my stomach and my stomach is bloated like I'm pregnant and it's absolutely horrible when in on my cycle it's so bad I'm walking bent over and it hurts so bad I can't sleep at night.
Same with me it gets worse when I move around I have to stay still
I'm dealing with the same thing since last year November. I experienced anxiety for the first time last semester of grad school and. Next thing you know I'm having these physical stomach pains and then bam! Belly button pain two days before my periods and it will go for almost 3 days of my periods and a few extra days and then go away and come back next period. I had an ultrasound a week ago and nothing was found. Like what the f*** this really hurts. I'm thinking hormones. I need this to go away forever.
When you get your period the same hormones effect you GI system . I have had the same thing pain in middle abdomen bloating right and feeling cramping everything. After research dr and CT scan last year the conclusion is that when the hormones fluctuate the GI picks up speed because when your losing blood from your period you body has to produce more so the first thing your body does is slow down the blood flow to your GI and sends it to the more important organs . Your body basically is trying to balance it self and unfortunately your GI system suffers in the mean time . I am a lot worse cause I don't have a gallbladder so my GI is working twice as hard . But this is very normal .
It sounds very similiar to what I have. Some times even to painful to walk. And don't even touch my stomach cause u might get punched in the face. Feels like pressure of some sorts, even hurts to sit. Some months no pain and then a month like this I want to curl up and die.
