Hunny, usually this vaginal discharge of yours, if it occurs right before your period its because its suppose to get thick around that time to nourish and protect the egg thats coming down from your ovaries and resting on your uterine lining waiting for sperm, once you have your period this egg comes out and your body no longer needs to produce this discharge. HOWEVER! like everyone else here, if its clumpy and white and when you check yourself with a mirror if around your vagina (still inside the lips) has white on the skin then it might be a recurring yeast infection. But if your doctor says its fine and you have a lot of it - its just a part of your cycle and your BF needs to educate himself as you would have had to have sex in the past 30 minutes for siemen to be in you.

I hope this helped!

I have had this problem over a year now. The only thing that has really helped me is the boric acid suppositories. I have had a lot of diflucian, tereazole, anfo b, & basically everything u could possibly throw at it, I have done. In the past 3 months I have been hanging in without developing a yeast infection but doing boric acid sups 2-3 per week at night. That seems to knock back the white stuff to the point it doesn't turn into yeast. It's not all the way gone but it is there in a very little amount. However, if I stop with the boric acid for more than 3 days I will start to see the increase. I had just the white stuff tested & they found nothing for a while. then after having the white for a few months i got a yeast infection that wouldnt go away. If u dont have yeast in the white stuff do anything you can to keep yeast away bc if u don't it will be the yeast infection from hell. If your dr tries to give you 1 or 2 stupid diflucian pills this yeast infection will laugh at that. I think it only gets worse. The only thing I can say about this after visiting 3 dr's that really don't think it is a problem unless there is yeast present, for all of u that have it, we know it is a problem & NOT NORMAL amounts of discharge!! I feel it is hormone related & some how it another the hormone levels become off, in my case I switched bc methods. I took out mirena & 6 months later tried bc in pill form. I felt terrible all month & stopped at the end of cycle. That is when this started 4 me. Things that make it worse are stress, sugar to include alcohol, & bread. I have tried treating my partner for the person that suggested that. It is not the partner bc he has been treated & I will still get it even tho we haven't had sex. I take a probiotic also. I've tried & done everything possible to help this to include a d&c by my 1st dr. I have been tested for everything under the sun also multiple time by 3 drs & I had a physical done by my primary care dr to include blood work. The problem is most drs don't think the white is a problem but it is & opens the door for other vaginal issues. If there is any dr out there willing to figure this out we would be forever greatful. This is really impacting women's lives & health.

I started having this problem about six months ago. I'm eighteen and was accustomed to normal sex all the time with one guy for nearly the entire summer after graduating high school. We started having sex in April of that year, and I started on Nuva Ring around that same time. I used Plan B once after losing my virginity in a risky way. I drank alcohol casually, maybe a few times a week all summer. When I came to college I got a VCH piercing and abstained from sex for a month. When I felt my piercing was healed, I had messy sex a few times in one day and once with a condom.

Since then, my vagina has never been the same. I don't know if it is because I was so used to having sex and suddenly stopped, because I didn't eat right when I was adjusting to college life, or if it's just because I'm allergic to either sperm or condoms.

I've been treated for yeast and bacteria, but nothing helps. The white goo goes away during my period, but gradually always returns again.

I am going to talk to my gyno about some of the treatments mentioned here and then post back if I have any results.

(Same as post above)

I also forgot to mention that I switched birth control after two months from Nuva Ring to Sprintec pills (which I'm currently on) because the Nuva Ring wasn't covered by my insurance.

I noticed that a lot of us have posted about taking Nuva Ring or Yaz as BC at some point in our lives, which is why I mention it.

Hell Ladies,

I've also been dealing with this issue for about five months now.  I really feel like I'm going to have a mental breakdown because of this issue.  I just want it to go away but nothing seems to work.  A bit of my history, I went to doctor because I was feeling very uncomfortable in that area... nurse came back and said trich and gave me 4 metronidazole to take at once.  Went back for two week check up and she stated I had slight yeast infection and gave me 3 day terconazole cream which irritated me very bad made things ten times worst. call doc again she gave me fluconazole 50 mg once a day for 3 days.  White discharge never went away I dont itch or have any pain just slight discomfort every now and then. Some days discharge is there some days not. I also have PCOS I am currently not taking any medication for it.  Ive also taken the Plan B pill which I saw some people mentioned. I really want to try boric acid to see how it works.  Ive tried rephresh gel, apple cider vin. baking powder and monistat but nothing seems to make it go away completely. I am so scared that im dying i dont sleep around and was with someone 10 him being my second sexual partner. Also havent had sex since finding out about the trich and dont plan on having sex again. Any advice on boric acid would be gladly appreciated.... Sorry for long point.

I have had this issue for 3 years and it was driving mentally insane.  I had no issues down there until 3 years ago.  I have been folloowing this thread for two years and tried every suggestion.  The discharge is thick, lotion-like and it seems stuck to my vaginal walls and rolls up like dry skin.  It's always there in varying quantities and there is no consistency as to when its worse or better.  It's gross though at any time and ruins my sex life.  I have been to 3 gyno's and they all say it's 'normal' discharge...ummm....nooo...i beg to differ.  Here is a list of things that DID NOT work for me:

1.  probiotics (bought many different kinds...reuteri, gussarai, femdopholis...etc etc)

2.  rephresh gel (made a worse mess..tonnes of white discharge...gross)

3.  hydorgen peroxide douche

4.  bought the water works douche..cleans u out but the white gunk comes back

5.  baking soda just in case it was cytolitic vaginosis

6.  povidine iodine douche

7.  no wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no gluten diet for 2 months...no change!  went back to eating brownies!

8.  balance activ gel from the UK....helped!  but not a complete cure and u have to keep using them..ugh

9.  ocotea oil from the rainforest..Its supposed to kill strep B and candida if you put a drop in your water everyday..

10.  cleocin antibiotic vaginal cream -  made it worse

11.  I thought maybe it was my birth control.  I was on yasmin (yaz).  I went off of it for 2 years.  Zero difference in discharge.  This is not a birth control issue.

12.  Prevegyne vitamin C inserts  -  just in case it was bv not showing up on the swabs....made the discharge wayyyy worse

13.  drank one gallon of water a day for a month...no change in discharge but my kidneys got exhausted

14.  garlic insert

15.  apple cider vinegar in bath water

16.  boric acid  (helps but comes back)

Ok I may have tried more things but this is what I can remember at the top of my head.  Sooo,  I was doing some reading and I decided to try my own concoction.  I read about essential oils.  Apparently,  rose geranium balances your hormones and is anti-bacterial and can kill all 11 strains of candida in-vitro.  I have no idea if this discharge is a yeast or a bacteria but it is one or the other.  It's an over growth of something.  Palmarosa has the ability to kill 10 of the 11 strains of candida and is also anti-bacterial.  If the discharge is hormone related the rose-geranium has that covered as well.  So this is what I did....I found an all natural personal lubricant with grapefruit seed extract (apparently this can cut through bacterial biofilms)...the lube is called Love by Lorna Vanderhaege (I think i spelled her name wrong but google it to order it).  Then I ordered rose geranium and palmarosa.  I added about 10 to 15 drops of each essential oil to the lubricant and shook it up.  For the first week that I did this, everytime I finished peeing throughout the day I just shoved some of this concoction up there with my finger (sorry to be graphic but I hope this helps someone).  I realllly didn't have much faith that this would work but OMG my discharge has been gone now for a month!!!!   I put a bit of this stuff in the morning and at night and it's gone!  My vaginal fluid is no longer sticky lotiony yucky....its back to being slippery and normal!!  When I get my period I coat the tampon applicator with the lube before I shove it up there.  The bonus of all of this....the lube smells like roses!  Anyway,  this is my own experience....I am sooo happy this discharge is gone.  I haven't stopped using the lubricant so I dont know what will happen if I didn't use it....but I don't care...its simple to use...not too expensive and its keeping everything healthy down there.  My theory is that either the essential oils are killing some bacteria...or a specific yeast...or the rose geranium is balancing my hormones.  Who knows...because doctors didn't help me...I'm just glad it works.  Hope this helps someone because it has really affected my mental state for 3 years....its really stupid that something like a stupid discharge can make you feel so awful about yourself...but it does!...K goodluck!

Thank you for your post. I have posted on here before & like you tried many things & many dr's. I live on boric acid suppositories. It keeps the white at bay but its not gone. I just ordered the things you suggested. Thanks for your research & posting. I will try this myself & let everyone know if it worked for me. This is so difficult to go thru as a woman & hard emotionally. Hope it works & thanks!!

I also just ordered your concoction. I had to laugh as I read all the methods you have tried. Me too! Everyone of those and probably the "more" that you couldn't remember. This began for me about 6 months after having a hysterectomy. I thought it was related to that. I still think it has something to do with hormone levels but of course the docs say I am "within range" and nothing abnormal is occurring besides a yeast infection. I have been finding that a hydrogen peroxide douche every couple of days and 2x daily a dose of regular lubricant keeps the white at bay. This is why I am thinking you are on to something. And if not, I figure it cannot hurt to give it a whirl. Thank you for your research, that was/is my next intended step.
