I've just started to experience this. Pain in the vaginal area and constant urination when sitting down. When standing or lying down - nothing. The discomfort in the vaginal area feels like something is displaced. I don't use tampons but it feels like one is in the wrong place. I've had UTI and its nothing like this - it doesn't sting or hurt to urinate but I need to go often - like once an hour. I drink a lot of water when at my desk and it's getting ridiculous. I did notice the discomfort after exercise the other night - the first time I became truly conscious of it. I'll probably go to the doctors in the next couple of days to get it checked out but by the sounds of it, I'm not suffering alone!
Drinking extra water with vitamin C or cranberry juice may help stop it

Hi Katjam,
I know this post is over a year old but I am going through all of the same symptoms you are..
I was treated for a yeast infection, and a bladder infection - none of those medications worked.
Then I was given viaderm cream, that didn't work. Can you tell me what finally gave you some relief?? please :)
I read few post but seems the same exact medical solution . This happens to me also but only during my menstrual period for 6 months now . During my period I feel like dying so painful and after urination terribly painful I can almost shout... But this happens only during my menstrual period and after 3 days.... I went to 2 ob bt nothing results good ... Until now it is going and everyday almost every 1 or 2 hours pee... So feeling helpless I don't know which doctor to consult more. If anyone have the same pls email me at

Been doing online research for about 2 weeks looking for a way to self-diagnose my similiar issue. I began having really copper-colored urine, and pain at the opening of the vagina, then pain upwards into the vaginal canal, so badly that I was almost swollen shut. My vulva was also inflamed with small bumps that developed on the labia majora (never inside). The bumps were almost hive-like. I am usually sensitive to perfumed toilet papers, pantiliners, etc, so I watch what I use. I figured it may have been sensitivity to something I came in contact with, or blamed it on sex for the first time in several months. Intercourse was fine, no roughness, and the same as always. A day after sex is when this all happened. The pain became so unbearable. It hurt when I walked, sat, but never any burning while I urinated, or any pressure. What happened in the days to follow wwas sharp, jabbing pain upwards into my cervix/abdomen that scared me, quite frankly. I did not think my partner had an STI, but I ended up going to emergency, having a blood and urine test, and vaginal swabs. I am 44 and have never minded a vaginal exam, but this one was painful. Most of the pain was felt while opening the speculum and stretching the vagina. It felt like a razer-blade!! I have not seen blood, spotting, etc, and have had no more than normal discharge. There was never any odor either. ALL tests came back NEGATIVE, thank goodness. I am at a loss, but the Dr said, maybe PID?? THat seems kind of harsh. I got 2 antibiotics and took them and am only now starting to feel somewhat better. Something still seems swollen inside me and my lower belly seems so bloated. THe abdominal pain is faded, but I have discomfort in my rectal area when I move my bowels. Go figure! Something is off for sure. I know my body enough to know this. I am waiting the results of my yearly Pap test to rule out cervical cancer or abnormal cells. THis is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. I hope to God I won't have to deal with this the rest of my life. Any insight is appreciated by readers.
I used some lotion in my vagina because it was so dry down there. It said "total body lotion" on the dispenser. Could that also be a reason that I have a problem? I'm 68 now and well into menopause.
Hi, I have had the same or similar symptoms On and off for over a year. Pain sometimes before, during and after urination. Sometimes the pain only lasts a few minutes and sometimes it could last a few hours. I sometimes have pain during sex also. Burning pain then I feel like I am getting all hot and bothered and really irritable. when it was at its worst i couldn't sit it was so sore. i often peed then needed to wait a while then a dribble would come and this sometimes cleared the pain. sometimes i would get off the toilet thinking i was finished but would need to dribble again and again. This was usually when it got really bad. Went to docs who tested for clamydia, thrush, UTIs -all negative. These symptoms would come and go. I was given a double course of different antibiotics, treated for thrush oral and pessary for 3 days etc even though no discharge - but nothing worked. Then one day I was at my wits end and took some ibuprofen. 10 minutes later the pain cleared. I'm still waiting on gyny apt but this tells me it's an inflammation of some kind. I only wish I knew to try these tablets sooner and saved myself all that discomfort. I still get the discomfort, but now no know how to reduce the duration of it.
