My situation was the same as yours my uterus was the size of a 5 month pregnant lady and I had a fibroid tumor 10cm I had my surgery Oct 13th the best decision I made my stomach has gone done so much that it's amazing I don't eat as much as I used to those fibroid tumor symptoms literally give you pregnancy symptoms not to mention they heavy bleeding and excurating pain to where I barely could walk or get out of bed it's not as bad as it seem I don't have alot of pain minimal that's only if I'm over doing it!!! My doctor told me my appetite would change I've been wanting to lose weight anyway be blessed I had the robotic surgery

I am exactly one week post op on my total vaginal hysterectomy. I feel good they removed uterus cervix and tubes left my ovaries I am 40 years old reason for hysterectomy was due to constantly getting severe displesia and tired of getting biopsy and Leep procedures I have two kids 19 and 21 I'm done having kids so I just had them remove what was causing the problem. I was terrified before the surgery really didn't have a sex drive was spotting after sex all the time. Surgery went well I've been really tired alot up for couple hours sleep for a couple hours. pain is good now first three days where rough but off narcotics and only taking motrin now. back to driving and getting more energy as the days go by can't wait to go back to work getting bored sitting here. As far as sexual desire it's there and well I hope it's still there when I'm fully healed because it wasn't before surgery. I am scared though to have sex for the first time after surgery. 7 weeks to go and we will find out if anything has changed. I get upset now and then because I know my boyfriend of 17 years wanted his own kid and now he can't by me. I feel like I ripped that option away from him and feel horrible for it and like he may resent me for it. honestly that really is the only thing that really upsets me. He says he doesn't resent me for doing it because I did it to prevent cancer but I feel otherwise. I guess that will pass but it upsets me alot even though I didn't want anymore kids specially at the age of 40.
on that note good luck with your surgeries it's not as bad as you may think you will probably feel like u got your ass beat for a few days then you will be ok. :)

I, too, had a total hysterectomy due to precancer of cervix and uterine fibroids. My dr, a gynological specialist, said my uterus was the largest he's ever removed (and paged a dr to assist him during surgery). I lost 2 liters of blood, etc. I weighed in at 199 (I'm tall so I hide my weight well) . I weighed myself 10 days later at 180. One day prior to surgery and day after, I was on a clear liquid diet. Since, I'm on a low fiber diet. My appetite is nil as a result. I miss my food. Anyway, I'm going to ask my dr how much my uterus weighed....

I had a full Hysterectomy October 14 2016 and I feel great! No more pelvic pain, more more bloating yay! I have lost a total of fifteen pounds. I don't have much of an appetite but I find myself drinking a lot more water (8 Bottles per day) I am also eating more fruits and raw vegetables. I feel healthier than ever and I will continue to eat healthy and get back in the kick of jogging as I did before. I want to go back to 135 pounds. .... I have fifteen more pounds to go!!!

I'm scheduled for next Friday and can't sleep. I don't want to lose my curves, but I guess I'll still be alive. I'm so scared.

Hi I just read your story. My ob/gyn recommended that I lose some weight prior to my hysterectomy also. Can you share with me how you lost 10lbs before your procedure? Thanks in advance.
