I had Novasure done 12-29-16, so 5 days ago. Day 1 some cramping right after procedure for about 5 hours. Nothing worse than strong period cramps and the pain medication was enough to control. Day 2 through 5 just felt heavy in the pelvic area like a very full feeling, minor discharge that comes and goes slightly pink to brown. No Need for any pain control medications. Discharge does have a slight- off smell, not infection smell but more of a smell this is just not quite normal for me. I am sure it is post surgical. Nothing abnormal or off putting. As of today I feel very good and could have resumed all normal activities easily 2 - 3 day post procedure. Based on other peoples reaction I feel as if I did have a very easy recovery mostly sitting around for a couple days as suggested by Dr. I think If you have the procedure done on a Thurs. or Fri. By Monday you for sure will be ready for work on Monday. So far all exactly what Dr had told me to expect no surprises at all. I honestly think the biopsy prior to procedure was more discomfort then the actual Novasure procedure it self.

Had this done 7 days ago, under general anesthesia ( thank goodness ) while having another procedure.
I felt great after, not sure if they gave me pain killers while I was "out" but I haven't needed any since. Today is the first day I have felt anything . I can barely call it mild cramps. I just came looking to see if that was "normal" and found this site.
I pray that things continue to go as well for me, this past week has been truly 180 degree difference from what I had been experiencing .
I'm so glad my Dr (female ) does not do this as an in office procedure. I cannot imagine doing this without anesthesia!

Thanks for this because there are definitely some horror stories out here that make you want to forget the procedure. I'm currently taking progesterone for 12 days but should get scheduled for surgery within the coming weeks. I'm praying that my procedure is a success as well.

I am one week into the recovery process. My procedure went great and like most the first day was a little rough. I had cramping and some light spotting and because of how my body was positioned I had lower back and knew pain which I was told was normal. I had some cramping the second day but no pain pills at all the second day. I feel great today and I am so happy I got it done.

So my doc says lower back pain is common. First because normal menstrual cramps can be felt in the back and second because of how your body is positioned during then procedure. .

I had the Novasure ablation after suddenly starting to have heavy periods lasting 2 weeks or more. MRI didn't show anything and my doctor thought it would help. I had the procedure done about 10 hours ago and by far this pain is the worst I've ever had in my life. I asked to be discharged from the hospital the day after my c section and never took narcotics even then, to give you some perspective. I also had my hystoroscopy and uterine biopsy done without medication of any kind. Heat has helped it somewhat, but they gave me a Toradol injection that didn't do much, so I came home and took 4 tylenol and climbed into bed with the heating pad. My husband's a little freaked out because he's never seen me having so much pain before, and I've had 3 abdominal surgeries, a broken hip before. If this helps me, it will be worth it in the end, but right now, I'm taking some Benedryl and going to bed. I pray this is better in the morning, because I have a toddler to chase after and even walking hurts. The weird part is the rectal pain, low back pain and rectal pressure after this procedure. I'm grateful that I'm a nurse so I know what I can take OTC for pain, but even the Toradol prescription isn't doing much at all. I wish I had Tequila right about now.

I had the procedure on March 24 so far no severe pain, but I stay very tired and I keep having very bad hot flashes and sweats. I am only 40. Has anyone had this experience.

I had my D&C and the endometrial ablation with the novasure this past Saturday. Everything went well, thank you Jesus. The only effect I'm feeling, not sure if it has anything to do with this procedure is the sides of my lower jaw is tender, and hurts like it's bruised. Anyone know if this could be one of the side effects of the anesthesia?

How is it now, did you have to get a hesterectomy?

No, it is because your lining is burned, which has to scab over like any other wound and be expelled through discharge etc. If it becomes foul smelling definitely alert your doctor, but you can expect a different scent as you heal. Definitely worth it imo. It's been a great recovery for me this far!

I had my Novasure done last Thursday and I have had zero pain, zero discharge and no period or spotting yet. A little discharge on day 1 but then nothing. I feel great. I almost didnt go through with it due to all of the negative reviews. But I figure if someone has a bad experience w anything they are apt to tell at least 10 people. But people that have a good experience tell nobody. I highly recommend. Need more positive reviews.....

I had the procedure 3 days ago and feel exactly the way you did. I too did too much the next day and feel it has knocked back the healing process. A lot of pain in my stomach, very uncomfortable. I was under the impression you could get back to normal soon after, maybe next day was a little too soon! How long after before you felt better?
