I had the novasure done in February 17 and same as you read all the bad reviews.. but the best thing I have had done.. No weight gain or bleeding..
So I had the procedure done yesterday. On day one I woke up with cramping after being under anesthesia. it was as if I was having the worst menstrual cramps I've ever had. This lasted all day but with the help of ibuprofen and Norco I got through it. I had minimal bleeding more like brown spotting and this morning I have no cramps and no bleeding. I had this done because of heavy periods and I have no desire to have children and while I was not anemic I was just sick of having my menstrual cycle. I don't have any kids I don't have any fibroids I honestly just don't do well on birth control or anything hormonal I'm 38 I don't plan on a family so I decided it was time to get rid of my periods. I will keep you posted but as of now the whole experience at the actual procedure was less than an hour I was completely sedated don't remember anything and I do believe the worst of the pain is over and if I never get a another menstrual cycle it would all be worth it
38 mother of 1. I had the procedure done on Friday 6/30 along with a tubal ligation and D&C. First two days there was cramping and a pinkish discharge (pantyliners works good for this). I prescribed ibuprofen and oxy but decided I could bare the pain. I had a low grade fever the 3rd day and was nausea and had a headache up until today and have been resting since Friday. Will provide an update in a few days.
Typo I'm 36 not 38.
I had no cramping, slight discharge on the day of, felt totally fine afterwards. Best case scenario, I suppose. The worst was the sore throat from anesthesia. I took Motrin for the sore throat.
Yes. My spotting with pinkish color last for about 2.5 weeks and is now all clear and done. No ore discharge nor spott
Hello, I am 37 with your exact situation. Iron, B12 and Vitamin D deficient. I am scheduled for this procedure in 2 weeks and I'm concerned about the long term effect. Such as vaginal dryness or loss of sex drive. Would you do it again? Was it a good call under the circumstances that it's for deficiencies rather than excessive bleeding? Thank you
I see I'm not alone in my reaction. Same exact thing happened to me...vasovagal reaction. 6 hours in the doctor's office...enough pain meds to knock me out but nothing did...told my husband I wanted him to hit me hard enough to knock me out. I had 3 babies almost 10lbs each (completely natural with one). This procedure was FAR more painful! Since the procedure things have been great but I'm not sure I would go through that again for anything!
When I'm intimate with my husband i feel my nerve shoot straight up from my vagina to my stomach, it feels like sciatic nerve. I never had this happen till I had the Novasure procedure. I am completely happy with everything from no more heavy bleeding, moods, and tiredness. How long does healing happen before I don't feel this intense shortlived uncomfortable feeling after being pleased? I haven't read about anyone else having this effect after the procedure. Looking for some hope.
Please answer if you are a Dr. and is this normal- :(

Did your doctor ever say what the odor was and did it ever stop?
It has been almost 4 weeks since I had the procedure and am having the same problems. Can you tell me how long all this lasted for you?
I had the novasure procedure done Friday. A couple of hours after the anaesthesia wore off I had slight cramping and pressure from my lower abdomen to my thighs. I had no bleeding but minimal drainage. Now it's been 5 days and I'm still experiencing mild discomfort, but the more I move around the more drainage I have. Its very uncomfortable to laugh and my eating habits haven't picked back up yet. I am experiencing a bit of fatigue. I appreciate all of the posts before me, now I know that I'm not the only one with these symptoms. My next Dr appointment is on the 14th so hopefully I will be back to my norm by then.
Did your bleeding stop by the 6 weeks point? I am 4 weeks out from my procedure and just started what seems to be my period. It’s very light but definitely red blood. I have been crying today because I was so hopeful that the procedure would fix me! I’m still hopeful, but discouraged.
Has your tummy gone flat ?
I am 6 days post procedure. My doctor told me if I felt like it that I could start back into all normal activities on the third day after the procedure. I cycled 40kms, not flat out, three days afterwards. I had cramps following the cycle but not bad and no increase in discharge. Day 4 cycled 20 km and soft run for 40 minutes. Following more cramps and a little increase in discharge. Day 5 loads of housework, mopping/vacuuming etc. in the morning and in the afternoon I was tired and cramping. Took a nap. Day 6 cramps (not huge) and it hurts when I sit down.... so I think I have over done. I will be resting today.
