Hello everyone,

I am envious of all those ladies who manage perfect winged eyeliner! I have watched the videos, know about the business card trick, know about Beauty Blender's design your liner tool (don't have that but people say business cards are just as good) and you know what?

My eyes look different every single time. I just can't seem to get them equal.

That's to say, if you were to look at just the one eye it would be fine, but them looking different messes the whole look up.

How do I get my eyeliner to look the same on both sides? And what other hacks do you have for achieving the perfect eyeliner look?

Ah well, yeah. The business card trick will get you straight lines for sure, but it doesn't equalise both sides. What you gotta do to achieve equal looking, though not necessarily actually equal, eyeliner on both sides is point that business card up to the end of your brow, which yeah, I advise you draw on first if you need to do that, which I do. (My brows are non-existent as well as really short so I make em longer.) If you do that, yeah, you'll get a flick oriented towards the brows, and it'll look cool. Good luck gal.

See, I think that BeautyBlender Liner Designer (that's what it was called, right?) could actually help you get both sides looking the same. It's a triangular kind of shape, not rectangular. Placed right, the end of one side would teach your outer corner of the eye, and the other the end of your brow. I don't currently own this tool but I saw it in the store as well as on YouTube. There are plenty of people slamming it, saying it's a useless thing to get, but I could see myself investing in it quite easily. I think it would be useful.

Eyeliner hacks? Well, the first thing you have to do is figure out what basic type of eyeliner you want to use: liquid, gel, or pencil. I don't like pencil because it doesn't spread that easily, and isn't so precise. I don't like liquid as much, because it is more of a precision tool that requires you to get things exactly right. Gel is a perfect compromise. You need a good brush to apply it, don't go for the ones that come with the products as they are cheap and disposable. Once you have that though, you have some awesome tools at your disposal. The angle is much easier to get right as well.

Eyeliner hacks? Well, the first thing you need to do is what basic type of eyeliner you want to be using. There's pencil, liquid, or gel. Pencil doesn't spread so well so I don't like it much. Liquid is TOO precise. Meaning, every single mistake shows up! Gel is a good compromise for me. It usually comes with a little brush, but those are bad quality and essentially disposable and I recommend you buy your own. Once you have the technique down, it rolls on nicely and the angles are also easy to get right.

Whoah, finally! Sorry for the double post, there's something off with my computer.

Anyway, different kinds of eyeliner also have different effects. Black is bold. Gray brightens your eyes. White on the waterline makes your eyes bigger. Nude makes you more awake, more healthy. And different bright colors like blue, silver, turquoise, can complement your eye color.

What you use is all up to you. With some playing around, you should quickly figure out what works best. (And yes, you can use the same brush for all if you clean it.)

Plenty of good advice here!I love the descriptions of different eyeliner colors. I honestly don't really think of white or nude liners as being there to line the eye, rather to change the appearance of the eye. But gray making a softer look, that's really cool. I love colored liners, especially a dark green one I have, but tend to go just for the black because it has the most striking effect somehow and also goes with every outfit. The advice about gel liner is also pretty good, but I do find that it is much harder to apply and prefer liquid liner.
