I get the same pains starting from my belly button to my urethra, its worse if i strech tall, I find that when I eat a lot of meat it has a bad effect on me but I'm unsure weather to bother the doctor with this or not, if any one has any kind of solid answer that would be great! I'm a 16 year old boy, does this rule me out from the kidney stone idea? I hope so :/ please someone reply with an answer! cheers
I'm a 21 year old female and I've been feeling this pain since I can remember. If I would stretch too suddenly I would get this painful pulling sensation from my belly button down to my urethra. I get the same sensation when I touch the inside of my belly button.
About 6 weeks ago I got the same feeling, but instead of going away after a little bit, it kept going and going. I went two weeks with the pain, unable to work and had to quit my job. I went to do the doctor and she drew blood, sent me for an ultra-sound, sent me for a CT scan and then of course drew more blood. She finally told me that she had done all she could and sent me to a GI specialist who came up with nothing as well. Now she is telling me that it may be in my head. I have felt absolutely crazy for the past couple weeks until now, reading this thread. The pain comes and goes and I have to move slowly and think about every move I make trying to avoid the painful sensation. She won't prescribe me pain medications because, like i said, she thinks its in my head.
I'm going to a new doctor and I'm going to show them this thread and see if they can help me. I can't go on with this pain much longer, its driving me insane and ruining my life!

Heyyyyyyy. Good advice. Thx.
Dear All,
I am male and first felt pain in my navel when I was
18 and I still have it today at 35, however it is much
better and continues to heal. At 18 I was very disturbed
as GP's and Hospitals could not find a cause. I had an
ultra sound and a Barium follow through meal, they
detected nothing. My anxiety increased as the pain became
more acute and like others I felt a sensitive conection
to my penis. My urinary tract was scalded and it was difficult
to pass urine and sex became out of the question. As my
stress levels rose at not finding a cure I had tension headaches,
particulary on the right-side. I was given an MRI scan and a
full health-check. Still nothing! Eventually I decided to branch
out on my own and went to see a Cranialsacral Therapist. I saw
a therapist for two years and they gently worked on my naval,
sacrum and head. This gave me partial relief from the symptoms
and we began to discuss the stresses of my life and possible
causes. CS therapists work with children alot, espcially those
who have had traumatic births. The therapist introduced me to
Umbilical Shock Syndrome - usually when the chord is cut too
quickly and like elastic snapping back the baby receives a shock
and is wounded and in some cases traumatised. I believe this to
be one of the causes of my condition.
I then began to think back to my childhood and rembered how
hard I found it to digest food. I was pale and thin. Then when
eating I would have poor posture. Slumping at the table and being
told to sit up or else.. I now think I was protecting my stomach,
an area that had always been too sensitive. At school I found it
hard to focus and then on the day of my A-level results I felt a
searing pain in my navel. So early shock, over sensitivity and an
inability to deal with high levels of stress.
It was at university when I started to get a scalded penis. Due to
my hyper-sensitivity my sex life was unsatisfactory. My craniosacral
therapist worked on my sacrum, the root of our sexual power. Mine
was tight, weak and blocked. It is only just now releasing. It was
on an anxiety management course that the nurse told my to try self
massage on my stomach and sacrum. I now have gently and firmly
been working on these areas. I use arnica massage oil to deeply go
where the pain is focused. It is all muscle and the tightness needs to
be worked out and released. The naval, the disc beneath which has
begun to soften is I move it around and can now squeeze it! Then the
cavaty muscles of the stomach, side-to-side and above and below.
I am going to see a sports masseur soon and he says he will take up
the work on my stomach.
As my anxiety levels have decreased the acid in my urine has all but
stopped and sex is possible. I still have great sensitivity and need lots
of rest after a self massage session to let things settle. I can feel emotional
but that's not all bad as I have a good therapist who I can talk things through
with..
Hope that helps.
Any question?

Ps. Please search 'Cord Clamping' to read about the on going debate on the cutting of the umbilical cord. Umbilical shock syndrome is one possible outcome and was proposed by a Craniosacral therapist in Europe..
Pps.
I agree with the idea that it is to do with the Urachus. This and the naval is where the birth trauma will occur. Bad posture, collapsing the stomach will be common as the body protects a sensetive area, like in the F position. Like all ligaments this needs to be gently strectched; so self-massage!
The stomach is the seat of the emotions so you will get emotional release as well, i get intense dreams if i relax my belly before sleep; this is part of the release..
Anti-spasmodics may be an answer in severe cases but i have used Co-codomol and find it helps the pain and muscle relaxation. I also take Valarian and Passiflora in tinctures to aid calm and relax.
Your belly will be very sensitive when you massage at first so do it in a safe place where you can rest afterwards. I find micro-movements and gentle rolling of the stomach muscles a help too.
Cord Clamping is becoming more of an issue and Doctors are realising that instantaneus intervention is not always best. Some hope for the next generation..!
I will post more on 'Umbilical Shock Syndrome' soon...

!!! Please note 'Umbilical Shock Syndrome' is not Toxic shock syndrome !!! I am in contact with the craniosacral therapist who diagnosed USS in me and I will post more info soon...
I have had it as well, I get it like once a month or so, for like an hour or more. After about a year of this, I figured out what made symptoms more frequent, and what made it go away faster (for me anyway). I realized that I woke up with the pain, if I went to bed with a half-full bladder, and kinda woke up with an 'over-filled' one. So emptying my bladder before bed really cut down on the episodes. (most of mine are in the morning). Also, if I already have it, massaging the area (between my belly button and pubic area) and slowly trying to ease to a straight sitting position helps. Like most cramps, massaging and slowly stretching the cramped area helps alot.
I have had the burning sensation when I urinate too, but it't not always connected with the cramps. For me, drinking 2 bottles of water per day keeps me from having the burning. (IMO the burning is the urine being more waste than water, and drinking more water will dilute the waste per unit of liquid.)

my father is going through this now and has for 6 months now. he has an abdominal aortic aneurysm and the doctors say that's whats causing the pain in his abdomen down to his penis. i would ask the doctor for a cat scan of abdomen that's how we found his. also prostatitis causes similar symptoms. check prostate levels.
i have this same problem.i ususally have stomach spasms earlier in the day prior to this.just like normal muscle cramps if you drink cold water it relieves it.i tried this and it seems to help a little at least enough to stand up straight
WTF, nobody knows what it is?! My symptoms are the same as everyone else's above.
I get it sometimes and then it goes away. I've had it for 4 hours today and I think it's gone now. Stupid doctors don't know anything. >:(

Dear All,
I have found out that I had a traumatic birth and my cord was clamped too soon. Has anyone else done any research into their birth?
My GP has put me on the anti-spasm drug Mebeverine 135mg tabs and they are helping to relax my stomach muscles. My naval pain has greatly reduced.
I am also on Pregabalin 150mg caps for neuropathic pain relief and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. I believe these are the symptoms of umbilical shock.
Hope that helps...
